Old rule, new meaning?

Primordus

The Red Necked Mando
It means putting like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead or Real Life people and events into this canon.

I think, though I probably misread the question.

Non-Canon is typically reserved for threads after RPJs and/or Admins have been called in and used to render the events of it void, though it has very occasionally been used from the outset. By its definition though, the Fanon tag renders a thread non-canon. So one could look at it as two sides of the same coin.

The use of the fanon tag automatically renders a thread non-canon and unrelated to the Chaos timeline/universe. You may do as much crossover as you want there, but bringing that over into the canonical realm of Chaos is a strict no-no. The rule is intended for those whom wish to role-play as Superman in any canon thread (as an example). So long as the fanon thread tag is used all is well.
