Private Old Flame

Location: Coruscant, Level 1500

Saul was walking to his home if you can call that, the home was located at Level 1500: Located in the lower levels of Coruscant. It's not quite level 1313, but it does share a lot of its qualities, namely overpopulation, high crime, and the occasional food shortage. It's amazing that the people from the surface don't realize that constant gang wars are fought underneath while worrying about constant Sith attacks. Thankfully the SIA had a vested interest in the increasing gang activity in the lower levels but Saul had a feeling it was because it started to affect the citizens above. He was tasked in finding a Hutt, who was responsible of smuggling Deathsticks to the higher levels. A couple of influential figures were starting to get high off of the product including children at Coruscant High.

Shouldn't be too hard of a task to do, Saul just needed to head back to his apartment to get more information. Walking on the uneven sidewalk, Saul began to light a spice stick and began to smoke brushing past the mass of people every single one of them lost in their own worries paying Saul no mind. He attempted to ignore the many flickering neon lights trying to entice him to gamble, frack, or eat at their shady abodes sidestepping an irradiated puddle that was on the sidewalk. An airy sigh escaped Saul's mouth as well as some smoke as he looked up at the artificial sky.

"Home sweet home."

Sera Inkari Sera Inkari

Graceful steps carried Sera through our city's streets, gliding over puddles threatening to mar clean robes. An orange hood hid amber locks, ocean-deep eyes lowered toward quieter poise, weaving through bustling crowds, careful not to misstep. Modest garments disguised her hidden saber folded within temple robes, giving presence both serene and certain. Kashyyyk called through visions, reminding her time slipped away, trails of her Duros—Zaler Dune, broker of secrets—growing fainter.

Something neared. A shift, inevitable yet elusive, dancing beyond prophetic sight. Fate drifted like petals on a breeze, landing where she least expected.

Dreams condensed to reality, a grey door ahead, she knocked twice. A folded note passed, another received. Stepping forward, drawn by intuition, threads of possibility converge. Yet her future, never clear, blurred further. Why did her sight fail her here? Thresholds enticing her discovery. Uncertainty, once unsettling, met with grace of her experience, guiding her and illuminating better outcomes.

Shadows stretched along her quiet hallway. Tension weaving through still air. Slamming behind her a door closed. A blaster's cry rang out, sharp, ricocheting off walls—nothing visible. Dipping low, twirling her form flowed outward with practiced grace. Flash. Spark. Silence.

An amber glow framed her silhouette against darkened walls. Blue eyes softened, gazing downward toward a droid form cleaved apart. A small pouch lay beside her attacker. With quiet breath, her fingers curled claiming what had been left behind.

Her waking dreams had taken her to here, but no further.

Saul saw his apartment from across the street. Just a small, cramped apartment located on top of a general store. The owner was Gol Frax: A Besalisk who ran small businesses around the area. He was also a secret information broker whom Saul relied on whenever he did missions in the Coruscant Underground. As such, he and Gol had a professional relationship, he was even generous in Saul not paying his rent on time. As he crossed he noticed a person whose body was covered in a large red robe about to pass him. Red robe..... Saul knew of a woman who wore a red robe before.

He wondered if that could be..... no it couldn't. They haven't talked to each other ever since their date. Kind of a sad moment too, Saul actually liked that woman. As they got closer, Saul "bumped" into the woman and her looked into her pale face. "Excuse me...." he said before seeing Sera Inkari Sera Inkari again. "Well if you look at that." Saul smirked. "Sera..... it's been a while."

Dreams faded and reality wove around her back together—where had she gone? Wandering a street, each step had felt so tangible, drawn in as though truly there. Blinking away lingering traces of sleep, her dreams fell from her eyes, and she moved forward.

A sudden bump, balance wavering, her breath catching. Deep blue eyes traced his face. "Saul?" A hood shrouded her features, but did not deny a warmth softening her expression. Fingertips nearly found his arm, but instead, her hands folded gracefully downward.

"Our paths have strayed for too long." Kintan's priestess lingered for his gaze before drifting away, not in avoidance, but in silent happiness.

Fingertips brushed a pouch—hers. Attached swiftly, she chastised herself. Never did her attention slip so deeply, dreaming herself away like this. Between her hallway and here... where had she gone and how long had she drifted asleep?

Small talk unspoken, silence pressed between them, not awkward, not uneasy, but... "on a path laden with risk and scare in gratitude?" She asked, her smile friendly, knowing him to be a man of integrity, a good heart, though, as she recalled, one who sometimes needed telling so.

Saul grunted when Sera Inkari Sera Inkari grazed her fingers against his arm. He was still a bit sore when Sera disappeared after their first date. Saul thought they had good chemistry and was eager to continue dating but Sera was nowhere to be found. "At the very least leave me because I work too damn much." Saul thought. "No need to ghost me..... literally."

"It did," Saul snorted. "You never bothered to tell me where you disappeared after our dinner. We never had a chance to go bowling afterwards." To think he pulled strings just to entertain a woman he was interested in but alas, Saul and women went together like burning water.

"I'm on a mission," Saul stated flatly. "Heading home to get briefed, although the Alliance are at war with the Sith and potentially Hapans, I'm stuck here busting a typical drug run."

Her smile softened further, regarding him with a caring gaze, how long had it been since she last saw him, her life had been such a blur, had she lost more time than she realised, or had her work consumed her life like it often did. "My deepest regrets Saul, of all souls you understand where our path takes us, sometimes does not allow..." she hesitated to say more, fleeting with what could have been. She couldn't hide behind it, fate wove cruel threads, "I should not have let so much time slip away, I can only ask for your understanding." Vast distances, so far apart, she accepted her fault; blame lay within her hand.

Thoughts drifted toward joys unknown—glimpses of a world untouched by her obligations. Retirement, however distant, stirred longing. and wistfully wished she could, if only to experience life outside of her work. A date with him, a life beyond this… she exhaled, eyes glancing away.

He spoke of his frustration, and she understood he was a man of action and wished to be where he was needed most, "perhaps more remains unseen," her voice gentle yet uncertain, meant to soothe, but she felt more hollow, like she'd hurt a good man. Fingers tightened around her the crystal pendant resting against skin.

"Maybe I could offer aid," She quietly promised, feeling like he could use company, and wanting to offer it on his travels.
