Olarra is young, optimistic, adventurous, and free-spirited. She is a gifted artisan and highly creative in her projects. Her latent Force potential is unknown to her, but that lack of understanding about the feelings, fragmented visions, and energies that have surrounded her since she was a girl has lead to her unbridled curiosity and thirst for new experiences. She loves to learn, whether about the past or the unknown, always collecting rare books, manifestos, and manuals from renowned smiths and artists before her and is an avid supporter of artisans in other fields. When she meets new people, she is almost never cynical or skeptical, and she has made close friends from all walks of life and tries to visit or communicate with them as often as possible. Her work behind the forge sustains her, not only financially, but spiritually. She "feels" her creations in her core and solving creative or metallurgical conundrums is her most exciting challenge. As her ship travels the galaxy, she accepts contracts and commissions as she finds them, sometimes she'll even work for free. Though she works with iron and steel, she also seeks to express beauty in harmony in everything she forges, even on more mundane or industrial projects.
At first glance, Olarra possesses a slender, graceful, and unassuming frame that looks entirely unsuited for the kinetic violence of a heavy industrial forge. However, beneath the surface lies a deceptively powerful, lean musculature forged by a lifetime of swinging heavy smithing hammers. She moves with a fluid, athletic economy of motion akin to performing a dance.
Her skin is a calm cerulean blue, and her creamy white hair frames a striking face marked by a unique personal tapestry of tattoos in iridescent golden-yellow ink. Beyond her basic, traditional Pantoran family crest tattoos, over the years she has been actively adding her own designs across her arms, shoulders, and collarbones—each marking a meaningful achievement or experience in her life. These markings are combinations of patterns, stylized lettering and unique glyph-like iconography. She doesn't fully understand the specific linguistic meanings of the ancient symbols, as most of the designs were completely inspired by the sudden sensory flashes she experiences through the Force.
When working inside the foundry, Olarra wears handmade protective gear with assortments of pockets and slots for her various tools and hammer. She wears a lightweight, armorweave apron of her own design whose heavy, heat-resistant fibermesh easily repels stray plasma flux and molten slag. Her forearms and hands are protected by form-fitting Robuma leather forging gloves that provide maximum thermal shielding while remaining thin enough to let her tactile psychometry perceive the metals underneath. When actively forging, she wears a hood and full-face welder's mask not only to protect her eyes, but also integrated with a digital overlay connected to SAMI, her forge's AI. The mask works in tandem with her natural ability to see the thermal spectrum and can be toggled to other spectra when needed to help her see and tracking stresses and micro-fractures in real-time as she hammers.

Prior to being chosen for Jedi training, Olarra never even knew about the Force, never mind the fact that it coursed through her every moment of her life. To her it is an invisible, evolving toolkit for her smithy, which she takes for granted as simply an extension of her natural talents at working with metal. She will soon learn that this combination of ability and talent was no coincidence. She currently has the following abilities:
- Microscopic Telekinesis/Art of the Small (Mastered): Olarra uses the Force to manipulate and compress the atomic lattice of metals as they cool. This allows her to flawlessly bond volatile, opposing elements without traditional heavy industrial automation.
- Psychometry (In-Development / Fragmented): Discovered at age nine. Olarra experiences fractured, sensory-driven historical echoes when touching metal relics. It provides vague blueprints, layout fragments, and emotional residue that she must actively decode, reverse-engineer, and experiment with during her quiet meditation cycles.
- Curato Salva / Hibernation Trance (Experimental): Recently discovered. She uses it to push her body through grueling, continuous forge cycles by blocking out extreme heat and physical fatigue. Because she is self-taught, as soon as she ends the intense meditative concentration, she experiences debilitating fatigue, severe muscle tremors, and even sudden fainting spells.
Strengths:
- Master Blacksmith & Artisan: Her mastery expands beyond ingots and blanks. She is a true metallurgist capable of forging difficult, rare, and custom alloys to create weapons, masterwork defensive plating and structural alloys, or intricate, metal-based Force art creations.
- Thermal Vision Spectrum: Capitalizing on a rare Pantoran biological trait, Olarra's can voluntary shift her vision into alternative frequencies. She can see into the near-infrared and thermal spectrums, allowing her to gauge fluid forging temperatures down to a single degree by color alone, surpassing any mechanical sensor.
- Hyperactivity: Olarra is constantly in search of new experiences and knowledge. When presented with opportunities to acquire them, she can easily lose focus on the requirements for work and every day life. She will run passionately into potentially dangerous situations or willingly involve herself with dangerous people to uncover a secret or acquire rare or restricted materials for her artwork.
- Financial Absentmindedness: She is a passionate creative who outright ignores her financials. While she isn't ecessarily hunted by vicious cartels, she is constantly dodging automated overdue notices, unpaid equipment suppliers, debt collectors and awkward check-ins from dry-dock operators she owes money to.
- Forge Exhaustion: Pushing her body through grueling, self-taught endurance trances leaves her physically drained, requiring intense periods of isolation to recover.
- The Ship ("The Fool's Errand"): A Ghtroc 720 Light Freighter. The outside is intentionally left rusted and disheveled to throw off docking authorities and keep her low profile. The inside is a meticulously organized, pristine sanctuary. The central hold houses her sealed plasma forge, the left mandible holds her acoustically isolated, micro-fiber carpeted research archive, and the right mandible contains her high-end living pavilion, kinetic gym, and orthopedic rest suite.
- Primary Droid (VC-7 / "Veecee"): A modified E-B load lifter droid who has been reprogrammed to serve as Olarra's ersatz business manager and forge shop assitant. Veecee has a bipedal humanoid chassis, colored in a matte golden-yellow paint scheme reminiscent of her own eye color. Veecee cares for Olarra and the business, but is often frustrated by her antics so will routinely exhibit a snarky or sarcastic mocking tone when speaking with her. Veecee manages the invoices, keeps the ship and shop immaculately clean, and serves as the front-of-house greeter when clients come aboard. He also tries to act as her conscience, constantly panicking about her credit score and waving unpaid shipping invoices in her face while vacuuming up forge scale and loose tea leaves.
- The Forge Analyzer System ("SAMI" Structural Analyzer & Molecular Interface): A highly advanced, custom-built lab AI integrated into the ship's mainframe. It brute-forces complex molecular math and expands interactive, room-scale 3D holographic models of atomic bonds above her anvil. It is completely blind to the Force, classifying mystical attributes as "unquantifiable anomalies," meaning it can only model what Olarra must physically bring to life with her powers.
BIOGRAPHY:
The Ember:
Olarra Zand's path was set the day she touched a ghost. While rummaging through an industrial junk heap on the outskirts of Pantora's dry-docks, her nine-year-old fingers brushed against the jagged, slagged frame of a crashed starfighter cockpit. The psychometric strike was a chaotic, fragmented explosion of sensory overload. Her palms burned with phantom heat, her nose filled with the sharp smell of electrical fire, and a sudden, disjointed flash of a mechanic's memory flooded her mind. She caught a fleeting glimpse of the exact fraction of a second where a rushed technician had welded a flawed, cheap alloy over a primary cooling line, a structural mistake that caused the ship to tear itself apart under thermal pressure. The metal told her why it died. From that moment on, she became entirely obsessed with the silent secrets locked inside the bones of the galaxy's machinery.
The Forge:
She spent her youth apprenticing across various commercial forge-halls, quickly realizing her peers were working entirely blind. Her near-infrared thermal vision allowed her to spot structural impurities by heat signature alone. By eighteen, she was working as a premier metals inspector for corporate shipyards. But the corporate world was soul-crushing. Her supervisors demanded speed, quotas, and endless assembly lines of identical starship hulls. Whenever Olarra tried to slow down to experiment with custom alloy blending or intricate detailing, she was reprimanded for wasting company credits. Realizing she would never achieve true excellence under a corporate ceiling, she liquidated her savings, took out commercial equipment loans, bought a battered Ghtroc 720 freighter, named it the Fool's Errand, and set out into the stars alone.
