Rils was a dark Mon Calamari and abnormally tall for his species at 2 meters in height. His height combined with the natural bulk of Mon Calamari gave him a menacing appearance. He had several scars on his left side from where he underwent surgery and had cybernetics applied.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born on one of Mon Calamri's colony worlds, Okkuhm grew up just on the edge of Republic Space. As a result when he turned of age he left his home world and joined the Republic military. Over the years he climbed to the rank of Captain from his enlisted rank, an impressive feat for a grunt. He saw action during the war with the Sith Empire and later the One Sith. He despised the Sith his entire young career for taking his ancestral world and vowed he would take it. He would then participate in the Republic's invasion of Mon Calamari, though he would nearly lose his life.
Okkuhm would sit the rest of the war out in a medical station. After nearly losing his life, many of his limbs were replaced with synthflesh cybernetics. When the Republic fell to the One Sith and their station was under attack he took command of the station and fled to the fledgling Galactic Alliance. Seeing himself fit to serve he joined the Alliance Defense Force and rose to the rank of Admiral where once again the government he fought so valiantly for was betrayed by a Jedi. Too many Jedi had "fallen" during the two wars and both times they had ultimately lost the war due to the betrayal of powerful Jedi Knights and Masters turning out to be double agents. Feeling the Head of State had left too much trust in the Jedi he refused to follow them and instead returned to Mon Calamari as an Admiral in their defense force.
When the New Sith Empire poisoned the oceans and set the cities ablaze he was ironically saved by the Jedi he'd so vehemently been against. With a few ships from the defense force still operational he fled to the Outer Rim and aided in organizing new Mon Calamari colonies. But once the New Sith Empire began attacking worlds like Pantora in the Outer Rim he knew he couldn't stay and hide forever. He called in a few favors and amassed a sizable fleet of old Alliance and Mon Calamari vessels and left Outer Rim Coalition Space to bring the fight to the Sith Empire. By the time the Mandalorians had been crushed beneath the heel of the Sith, what had once been several dozen cruisers had been whittled down to a mere handful of ships in various states of repair.
He fled back to the Outer Rim Coalition looking for any shipyard that would help fix their ships. He found Silvia Shipyards and Gilamar Skirata. With one of the largest merchant fleets in the Outer Rim Gil was the perfect person to ask for help. The two struck a deal and Gilamar joined with a portion of his fleet and the Resistance was born anew.
