Off To Nar Shadda!

Dust erupted from the crate as she pulled it from underneath her bed, the girl letting out a quiet sneeze. Years seemed to have worn the quality away however the label on the side was still coherent. ~Alura Circus~ it read. Niyla pulled out many frayed 'magic' items, smiling as she wiped the dust off them. She was finally leaving this rock, this underworld. It has been two years since she looked up and saw anything besides muffled air and transport ships flying so fast they looked like bolts from this low. She was a little sad though, this has been her home. Brushing the thought away she continued to poke through the items, finding a slightly damaged Wookie Bowcaster at the bottom of the crate. She remembered when she received this, it was given to her as a gift while she was traveling with the troupe. She slightly chuckled and put the bowcaster in her sack, which had mostly clothes, a small dagger, and a picture of her and Rayhe, her father.

From outside the sliding door she could hear the muffled grumble of [member="Malik"] growing impatient. Well, to be fair she has been in here awhile. I can't just leave all this stuff... Niyla thought, knowing she may never return here. At least not for a long time, and by then the small hut would have been looted by cheap smugglers looking to sell off whatever they could steal. Niyla sighed, popping her head outside of the door. "Hey, I may have forgot to ask this... do you have a ship?"

Malik sat stared outside the window of the hut. This is taking forever. I guess I might be able to take it off. Malik thought. He reached towards his face and took of his mask, setting it beside him on the nearest table. "This feels so much better, I haven't taken this off in weeks!" Malik whispered to himself, his voice was lighter but still deep. As he heard the door behind him slide he quickly turned back to the window. "No, I find it much easier to use public. Less chance a bounty hunter will track your every move."

[member="Niyla Ar'i"]

"Hm." Niyla left her things behind for now, only bringing a small bag she could transport easily. "I'll come back." She said in a whisper as she left the room. The girl then turned her attention to Malik. "Off to Nar Shaddaa." She paused for a moment looking back at the house, she ran a hand through her hair and said. "Lead the way!"

Malik smiled and grabbed his mask, readjusting it as he put it on, "Yes....off we go, now I must warn you Nar Shaada is filled with all kinds of criminals so just keep your head low and avoid eye contact. Trust me, I had to get my hands dirty plenty of times all in one visit." Malik strode through the allyway, every once in a while turning around to check if [member="Niyla Ar'i"] was still following. When they reached the ticket booth Malik quickly bought the tickets and boarded the transport.

Niyla nodded and stepped onto the transport. I've never been on one of these things... She thought. As the ship prepared for hyperspace a voice came over the intercom. "All passengers please find a seat."

Niyla tried not to run into people, this shuttle was crowded. She looked for her masked friend, who wasn't that hard to find. When she spotted him she walked up beside [member="Malik"] .

"This seat taken?" She asked in her native accent, which she spoke in more often around Malik now.

(Her native accent is what a french accent would sound like!)

Malik chuckled and looked at the girl "Not at all, please take a seat." Malik started to go back to what he was doing, taking out all of his weapons and examining them. "You know, I always wondered. Why do you live in a hut all by yourself? You look young enough to still have parents looking after you." Malik tried not to make the question difficult, he just wanted to know.

[member="Niyla Ar'i"]

Niyla sat beside him as she thought about the question. "I never got the chance to meet my mother. My father died in a fire...ever since then I have been on my own." She knew that was vague and didn't really answer his question. She just didn't know what else to say. She thought of talking about the troupe but decided it was best not to at the moment, perhaps later, if this [member="Malik"] proved to be someone she cared to share such information with. "What about you? Do you have any family?" She asked, hoping he was not upset with her short response.

Malik went silent for a few minutes when [member="Niyla Ar'i"] asked that question. "I'm.....sorry to hear that" Malik then went silent again for another minute before speaking. "I don't know......I know I did have family but I don't know any of their fates. My parents were both young when they had me, so we didn't have much to live with. Then my sibling came along and everything just got harder for us. How old was I again? Oh right, I was ten when Ieft to go on my own. It was best for all of us, my parents could barely afford to raise both me and my sibling and I was eager to leave and have my own story." Malik then gestured towards Niyla "And here I am, helping a young, lovely woman with building a ship. Wondering.....what happened to my family." Malik shifted in his seat uncomfortably, this was the most information he had shared....well to anyone.

Niyla wanted to ask him more. 'Why the mask? Where'd you learn to fight? What is your real name?' However she knew that he would only tell her if he wanted. It was not her place to be so rude.

"Sounds like a rough childhood...I'm really sorry [member="Malik"] ." She smiled and laid her hand on his leg as a way to comfort him.

Suddenly a loud beeping started to occur in the shuttle and a voice came over the intercom, going over procedure and eventually getting to the fact that they are 10 minutes out from Nar Shadda.

Malik smiled "It's fine, it's just who I am. It's just who Malik is." Malik then smiled "But not everything was bad, I taught myself how to fight thanks to daily fights with the scum of the galaxy. I also have never had so much fun untill when I left." Malik then heard the intercom and looked over to [member="Niyla Ar'i"]. "If you want, I can tell you about how I met Retu. Though of course it won't be very pretty."

As he spoke of himself she smiled, although it wasn't sincere. She felt bad for him, she wanted to hug him. At least she grew up with a family that was able to support her dreams and wishes, she could tell that he never found peace with his old life.

When he mentioned Retu the girl raised her eyebrows, she was actually pretty curious about this Hutt. "All the better!" She said and lightly bit the top of her lip.

Malik smiled and rummaged through he cloak. He then pulled out a paper that read
'Malik'

10,000 DoA for this 'vigilante'

"This was my first bounty Retu put on me. He knew someone was raiding his shipments but no one was alive to say who I was. Then for the fun of it, I left one of Retu's men as in best condition as I could a get him to tell who I was to the Hutt. I originally just used my real name, D-" Malik quickly caught himself and then shook his head, he was getting too relaxed around her. "I used my real name when I raided the shipments originally. I even went as far as letting myself get captured to see this fat slug in person. Well, when I did even I was suprised. Retu.....is abnormally large, even for a Hutt. He kept me prisoner for a whole week, toturing me and making me fight his exotic beast. One day, well I won't fully go into details but I escaped. The next day Retu recived a note from yours truly saying 'That was interesting you fat blob. See you later
-Malik'"
Malik skimmed a lot through the story, he really didn't have the time to go through every painstaking detail.

[member="Niyla Ar'i"]

NIyla listened to him with wide eyes, he was truly an intriguing person. She loved it, his whole story...There was just one thing that didn't make sense to the young swordswoman. "You bested an exotic beast; but not me?" Jeez... She thought, finding that hard to believe. "You let me win. Didn't you Malik?" She asked with a growl. "Don't ever do it again!" She said in a light-hearted tone, or so he thought until she punched him on the arm...hard.

"Now. Let's piss off that fat Hutt." She grinned and slyly stood up as the ship landed on the platform, letting her hair flip as she looked around to see the infamous Nar Shadda.

"What are we waiting for?" She asked playfully, offering her hand to him.

Malik rubbed his arm and bursted out laughing "Sorry, you just looked so eager to win and I'm a gentleman." Malik took her hand and pulled himself up. "There is a few places we can stop first if you want. We have the bar, black market, or if you want we can just get to the chase and start planning."

[member="Niyla Ar'i"]

Niyla grinned as he rubbed his arm. "Serves you right..." She muttered, not being able to help herself from laughing with him. "What I am is eager to kick your butt!" She said, perhaps too loud as a few people in the shuttle looked at her.

However she did respect that he was a gentleman. She liked to earn her battles. "When I am better equipped I will have my rematch." She narrowed her eyes as she looked at him, raising an eyebrow as to turn her statement into a question.

As he mentioned the activities they could do Niyla looked around, her curiosity taking her over. "Will you give me the grand tour?"

Malik simply shrugged and started to walk off, gesturing for [member="Niyla Ar'i"] to follow. "Well I recommend going to the cantina first then. I can get some info and we can rest from the shuttle." As he walked down then Main Street of Nar Shadda, Malik stopped infront of a large building on the sign it read The Slag Pit Malik smiled in conformation and walked through the doors.

Sounds gnarly. The girl thought and pulled her hair into a high ponytail. The people around here didn't seem too friendly and she wanted to be ready to fight if need be. She glanced down to make sure her rapiers were with there, she knew they were but it made her feel better to see them.

When they stepped in the dimly lit catina she noticed many rough-looking people, slightly fearful she stepped closer to [member="Malik"] .

Perhaps she trusted him more than she believed.

As Malik walked through the doors he was greeted by a loud voice "OI! LOOK WHO WALKED INTO THE PIT TODAY BOYS!" A short burly man was at the table infront of the two, playing a large game of sabacc with others in the cantina. As he got up he smiled at the masked figure Malik! Good to see you again buddy!" The man then noticed the Zeltron behind him "And who is this lovely girl?" The man's eyes explored [member="Niyla Ar'i"] 's body. "Baxter, I would recommend that you don't go flirting with her." Baxter let out a hardy laugh "Sorry Malik, if she ain't your girlfriend, she up for grabs." Malik then unexpectedly wrapped his arm around Niyla's shoulders and looked at her, his eyes say go with it . "Actually Baxter, she is my girlfriend."

As the two walked in the eyes of everyone in the cantina darted to them. Specifically a loud fellow, who she assumed was a little more than tipsy. He began yelling at Malik but quickly turned his attentions to Niyla. As he started to talk about her like she was some kind of object she reached for her rapier, ready to slice his head off. However she was quickly stopped by an arm finding its way around her.

"Actually Baxter, she is my girlfriend." Malik said and looked into her eyes. Niyla understood what he was doing but she was shocked he went there, also a bit...aroused. Her cheeks flushed a scarlet red with his words, she stared into his eyes for a moment processing what had just happened.

After a quick second she got it together. This should be interesting... She thought.

"Malik, dear." She said and put a hand to Malik's mask, raising it just slightly and laying a kiss upon his lips. "You are officially crazy." She whispered into his ear, almost taunting him as she left his lips.

The man named Baxter just stared in amazement as the two kissed "Wow, Malik. I didn't think you were one of those romantic people. Anyway, what can I do for you?" Malik sighed "How about the same exact reason I came here the last ten times." Baxter smiled and moved back towards his now empty table. "But of course mate! But first how about a friendly game of darts? Who ever hits the bullseye first wins." Baxter reached towards his back pocket and pulled out a knife. He looked over towards the small target on the left wall and threw his dagger towards it, completely missing it. "KARK! Your turn." Malik's eye twitched, obviously annoyed. Malik quickly unsheathed his vibrodagger and chucked it at the target, causing it to slam into the bullseye with a loud thud.
