Ideon didn't seem to have even the faintest clue of what it was he was doing, but that didn't slow him down. He was gentle with the pieces, more curious about their shape and form than how they could potentially slot together though with enough time mayhaps he'd move on to that too. For now he lowered himself into a seated position and simply... Fiddled.
Seeing that the woman was hoping to spy the pages, Rhia turned to make it easier for her to do so. "There was a lizard we saw on the last Temple up the valley, he was cute," she turned the page a couple, glossing over temple diagrams, until she reached a spread which detailed various things she'd noticed about the little guy. "His scales seemed to match the stone they used for the temples," she stated, "Even in the grass it was this sort of greyish hue. I wonder if they adapted to the temples, or if they're just more likely to be found around the natural mineral deposits."
She hadn't been able to observe them for very long, though to find out. "Oh, I also mapped out some of the valley," another page turned, to show a crude sketch of the basin they were stood within. She'd marked on the various temples they'd already seen. With that in mind, she pulled out some sort of pen and got to marking this one roughly where it lay in relation to the others.
As for where they'd be headed next... "Nope, nothing in particular. We're just making our way through the valley, I reckon it'll just be whichever is closest." She tipped her head up to look at the woman. "What about you? Is this the only one you're studying or are you visiting them all too?"

Alana watched idly for a moment as the silent child fiddled with the pieces. That was good. She vaguely remembered learning that way, when she was very young. One part of her brain still assessed the pieces for their value. Half a day's rations, quarter day's rations, the like.

Life had been simpler then, in many ways, but not pleasant. THis was far nicer, all things considered. She hadn't gone hungry since she'd been affiliated with the Jedi. At the sight of the pictures, she sat up further and leaned forward, studying the drawn images.

"Those are quite incredible! Well done with the color, and that is an excellent question. Or maybe there's a different seasonal color variation, maybe?" She shrugged. "I'm much better with machines than animals." As Rhia started adding to the map, Alana tilted her head to watch, reorienting herself to how the map was laid out.

"Sounds like quite a leisurely journey then! And yeah, I'll be scanning them all for any sort of carvings."

While Ideon continued to fiddle with the items, Rhia considered what the woman had said about visiting each of the Temples for herself.
With that in mind, she found the log to sit down upon once more, and tore out a page from the notebook. Laying it over the map she'd already drawn, she began to trace it in order to make a copy. It didn't take her too long, given that she'd already done the hard work of initially graphing it, and so once she was done she handed the torn piece over to Alana and gave the woman an accompanying smile.
"I'm not sure how much help that'll be for you, but here. And who knows, maybe you can add some of the others too. For future use."
As for the leisurely nature of their journey, a small nod was given.
"We're in no rush. This is more for fun than anything else. What we learn along the way is just an added bonus."

Alana paused, considering her cup of caf and setting it briefly back on the hotplate and letting the liquid heat back up, squinting at it until she could see tendrils of steam beginning to re-emerge. She gave a short and looked up in surprise, as Rhia handed over the map tracing.

"That's so generous of you!" She set the caf down and picked up the map, studying it closely. "It's amazing, thank you!" She beamed at them and grinned. "You sure you all don't want some food? It's only fair, after all."

She cracked a grin. "And taking time for general travel can be a lot of fun. I do tend to enjoy it."
