Of Sith and Queens

Aya Clarke

Lady Clarke, Saint of the Crimson Eagle
Queen.

Aya sat in her personal office, within her new home in New Hylotl, sipping a cup of tea thoughtfully. Since helping the people build both the new capital on the lake, and this grand palace for their monarch, she had been made their newly elected queen and viceroy. It was, odd, unexpected. Something she had never thought would be hers to claim. Yet even as she sat there behind her desk, the light of the day trickling in behind her, she couldn't help but feel, delighted to claim it.

Queen.

She had once been a general for the Confederacy, leading armies of droids from the frontlines, charging into the fray with blade in hand. And here, she sat within her Saint armor, quietly contemplating her tasks for the day. There was less than she expected, much of her duties were handled quite well by advisers or proxies, leaving plenty of empty space in her schedule. Perhaps that would change but, as it stood, she had much time to do little more than sit and think.

Queen.

She was blissfully unaware that some, social rivals, those who had hoped to become Viceroy or coveted her renown, had whispered rumours of her allegiance. Though she held loyalty to the Confederacy, they whispered of her desire to take Holyin and leave. There was no such malice in her heart, but the rumours met not her ears, and instead met those who would have desire to investigate. And once such individual was personally to investigate, and determine the validity....

The Black Star landed on the docking platform outside the palace. Onboard was the Sith Lord Darth Syn... Known by most as Jayce. He was there today to investigate the newly appointed Queen of Hoylin, Though as far as everyone including the Queen was concerned Jayce had been sent by the CIS to act as her head of security until a more permenant solution could be found.

Booted strides carried the robed male down the ramp of the old purple YT-2400 Freighter. Violet cybernetinc eyes peering around and recording every detail around him as he made his way into the palace past the guards and up to the door to [member="Aya Clarke"] 's personal office. Three hard raps of his knuckles onto the door sounded his arrival.

Aya glanced up at the door, and blinked a few times to activate the contact lenses she wore, giving her access to the camera feed outside. Ah, yes she was expecting someone by that description wasn't she? She used the eye movements to shut them off, and spoke loudly and clearly enough for the man to hear. "You may enter, the door is unlocked." Her statement was true, after she discreetly pressed the button to unlock the door from her desk. She wasn't some idiot who kept it unlocked after all. With the door now unlocked, Aya set her now empty cup of tea down, and got the pot to pour herself another.

When the door opened, she wouldn't miss a beat. "Cup of tea?"

A smirk would cross his thin lips as he heard the click of the lock seconds before she informed him it was unlocked... At least this one was smarter than the last Noble he investigated.

Near silent strides carry him into her office, Those vibrantly purple eyes darting about as they snapped digital photos and recorded everything he saw for later review. He'd take the chair she had offered and flop down into it before kicking his feet up onto her desk and allowing that deep southern tone of his to emit from black stained lips..... A cup of tea would be great.... Which is more that I can say about your current security detail Viceroy

He would get an eyebrow raised as his feet were propped up on her desk, followed by a cup of tea she poured out for him. "And what pray tell, should I be concerned over? I rule a peaceful planet of vacations and handmade crafts. Little if any strategic use for this planet in particular, and if you were a threat you would have already found yourself in an uncomfortable situation, to say the least." There was confidence in her voice, though she did not brag about her capabilities. If anything, she was simply stating the facts to Jayce as she saw them, and certainly he'd pick up on the way her eyes lingered over certain, joints. Particularly the waistline. It was impossible to move one's body without creating a minute shift in the waist, and as a practiced swordsman she had learned tells well.

"But I also doubt you have come as a threat. Few can so casually strut about with malice in their hearts, even a Sith would feel anticipation, nerves perhaps. Your stance and walk doesn't indicate to me, that you wish to fight today. Or at the least, have not yet planned upon it. Similarly, I am sure there are, few, who match the description of the one meant to act as head of security for the time being. The Vicelord would hardly let one take up the mantle without a thorough vetting regardless."

Being a member of Sector 7 had certain.... Perks, One of which being a small device built into the bottom of Jayce's left boot. This device having already sliced unnoticed into the signal from Aya's personal devices and began downloading data from the moment his boots touched her desk..

Ahhh thank you Your Ladyship.... Highness... I never know what to call you Nobles He stated with a shrug as he accepted the cup of tea and took a small sip from it. An almost sinister smirk crossing his lips as she spoke of him as if he were not a ruthless killer that prides himself on causing as much pain as possible before allowing his victims to die.

Even the most peaceful leaders have those that would wish them harm.. Came a straightforward tone as he watched her every movement... Who's to say I am who you think I am? I was not scanned upon arrival.... Nor was I checked for weapons, Which by the way I am carrying several. Who's to say im not an assassin hired by your rivals and given surgery to change my appearance? Hell your Highness there are drugs that could have changed my appearence and even the force... The last bit about the force being said he cleared his mind and focussed on a singular thought as his skin tone changed from his normally pale tone into a vibrant shade of blue.... Through the force all things are possible

"And do you believe I am unarmed? I'm sorry to say I am far from defenseless. For instance from your position you would take an additional twenty seconds to adopt a proper fighting stance while I would take but ten at the most. Within that timeframe I have more than sufficient time to both rise to my feet and strike at your legs, assuming you don't have some form of weapons in your shoes. Similarly, I care not for what force tricks you possess. They intimidate me not, I've more than some experience with such." Another sip of the tea, before she put the cup down. "Besides, the Goddess watches over her children. If it is my time or not, neither of us have a say in the matter."

She tapped her metal covered finger on the desk a moment, in thought. She shifted her knee under the desk, and doubtless he would be able to, if he could pick out a lock unlocking and had any sort of active data feed, tell that a recording device was activated. Best always to keep a record of official duties. "But, let us speak plain, and properly introduce ourselves. I am Aya Clarke, Viceroy for the Confederacy, Queen of Hoylin, and Lady of Kalis. You may use any of the three. To whom do I have the pleasure of speaking with?"

Blue skin slowly shifted back to his normally pale complexion as he sipped his tea amd watched her for a moment before speaking again... That would be a good guess as to the time itd take me to get ready...... Other than that I'm not classicly trained and I fight like a wounded rancor.... And id never assume anyone was unarmed, that would just be stupid on my part Lady Aya

His words broke just long enough for him to remove his feet from her desk and finish off his tea... I am Jayce Pryde, Sith Lord and pirate extraordinaire..... Most know me as Darth Syn.... I'll let you call me Jayce cause I like your smile..... Now how about you give me a tour of the palace?

Aya Clarke

Lady Clarke, Saint of the Crimson Eagle
"Then I shall call you Mr. Pryde, lest I give you an excuse to misunderstand me." She gave a kind smile, though her words held a hint of her feeling, quite playful. Not in a flirtatious way mind, but like a child at ease, preparing to toy with the new kid on the block. Admittedly, Aya had found a new joy in life teasing in jest. "And of course... for twenty five credits on an open house day when a staff member is available. Of course in your case however I could be persuaded to change my mind, if you have a signed permission slip from home. Failing that, I suppose proof of your official business? Seeing how you were very quick to point out how simple it must be for one to impersonate you physically, you must have some other means of doing so."

Of course her instinct told her this was the right man, and her instincts were often right. But if he wanted to be so quick to dig himself a hole, why not ask if he had a rope to get out?

It took him a second to catch on to her joke but eventually a chuckle escaped him as he stood from his chair. His left hand slipped into his pocket and removed a small flash drive that he held out to her. Everything that proves I'm me is on that drive... Feel free to give it a look after my tour.... Speaking of...

He reaches back into his pocket and pulls out a credit chip that he would place with the flashdrive that he was offering her... That should be more than enough to cover my tour

Aya Clarke

Lady Clarke, Saint of the Crimson Eagle
Aya used her gauntlet's capabilities to gently pull the drive and small credit chip into her hand, the former being palmed slowly and the credit chip being pocketed. "I appreciate the small donation. I'm sure we'll be able to feed a few families in Hylotl with this. I'll be sure it's put to good use." She turned off the recording as she stood up, hitting another button on her desk to summon up one of the maidservants as she moved to the door. She arrived pretty quickly, and was handed the drive with very gentle orders, whispered into her ear. Normally one wouldn't likely overhear, but a force sensitive like Jayce? With ease.

"Please take this to the isolated system, and confirm everything is as it should be." The maid nodded and left to do just that, while Aya reached back, the battle standard against the wall (with the flag curled around it tightly, and bound with string) propelling itself into her hand. "Well then Mr. Pryde, we have much to show you don't we? Our first stop will be the main entryway and we'll move onto the throne room proper." She motioned him to follow behind.

There wasn't much she had to say on the entryway itself, outside of mentioning how much had been put into making it as inviting as possible. When they reached the 'throne room', which truthfully was just a large room with one ornate seat, and plenty of space and other seats around the outside wall.... "The throne room is, mostly ceremonial I suppose. A comfort thing for myself. Truth be told, 'tis little more than an ornate meeting room, for business relating directly to Hoylin itself. I do invite the public, however, to meet me here most days. There are few things that are beneath me, when it comes to mending this world." There wasn't, exactly, a clear tone to her voice. She did not wish to betray whether or not these thoughts were genuine, or held only as duty.

That was a neat trick..... Came his soft tone as he admired her gauntlet. Super magnets or is it more like a tractor beam? He really was curious as to how it worked being a bit of a tinkerer himself.

He had brung himself to his feet whilst she had been speaking with the servant and now stood aside her waiting for them to finish speaking. As he waited he couldnt help but notice how nice Lady Aya's bum looked... He'd never oogled a Queen's bum before.

A smile drifted to his lips as he followed just far enough behind her to get a look at her backside as they move through the highly impressive looking entry way and onward towards the throne room. Once inside the throne room those purple cybernetic eyes scanned around the room snapping pictures here amd there as he pinpointed areas that needed cameras and extra security....... You know I never knew the throne room was so........ Bare?! Always figured it'd be full of decorations and whatnot..... But then again you probably dont spend alot of time here especially with how beautiful New Hyotl is outside the palace
