Of Muun and Mandos

Mars Tonith

Banktankerous Muun
MandalMotors had accepted the invitation. It was incredible news. Not that Mars Tonith expected anything less of course, why wouldn’t MandalMotors want their business? But it was good to get a “yes”, even if it was for preliminary negotiations. Mars was going to Mandalore of course, as it was the site of their corporate office and all of their financial business. Aeten II might’ve been a little closer of a trip, but things happened.

“They’ve cleared us to dock sir.” One of the Iotran Exiles that served as Mars took at a look at his notes. Just another once over on what he could offer MandalMotors, and what MandalMotors could do for him in return. All negotiations at some point traded specialties. What MandalMotors has the expertise to do for a cost vs what Tonith-Damask has the expertise to do for a cost. Most thought a good deal was one where you got more value than the other side, but the truth was no business relationship that exploited a partner lasted longer than a single contract. Some ended quicker than that. A good deal benefitted both parties, so it could be trusted in the long term. Such was the goal today.

The shuttle landed, and Mars left with his guard to meet a collection of MandalMotors security, armed in homemade and authentic Mandalorian Armor. “We’ll escort you to meet with Mr. Skirata.” They said, not bothering to question or even scan Tonith’s guard. The Mandalorians were proud, so were the Iotran, but neither were stupid. If anything their presence was a courtesy to both parties. Soon enough they’d find [member="Gilamar Skirata"], who could probably also handle himself in a fight. Hopefully he’d view it the same way.

The doors hissed open to Gil's office on the MandalMotors orbital shipyards. Once considered the pride and joy of Mandalore, the large structure was dwarfed by Mandal Hypernautics own Shipyards. From here it seemed as if Mandalore was a shining product of industry, but one look at the planet below would tell a different story. Shuttles and bulk freighters flew in and out of the planet's atmosphere, ferrying in supplies and out debris. Atmospheric cleaners and other terraforming devices hovered closer to the planet's atmosphere and pumped away attempting to clean up the planet's air. Gil stood with his back to the Muun and his guards holding a glass with a thick, black liquid within. Large panels of transparisteel lined the back wall lending the room this wonderful view of the stars.

"It's almost sunrise on Mandalore," he said before taking a sip of his drink. He sighed and turned to face his company dressed in a bantha leather vest, unbuttoned, and white shirt with combat-stlye pants to round out his look. A Mandalorian heavy blaster sat comfortably at his waist. "But it's high noon somewhere in the Galaxy right? Never too early for a drink. Speaking of what would you like?" He set his own drink down on the table between them and beckoned Mars and his guards forward.

Mars was escorted to find a man in a simple white shirt, kept warm and stylish by an unbuttoned leather jacket. His clothes might not have put him as CEO of the proud MandalMotors company, but it could be seen by the way the armored guard carried themselves around him. He was an easygoing guy it seemed, saved for the heavy blaster at his hip.

"Something local. I like to try new things whenever I travel." Mars replied, as he headed to the table and took a seat. The transparisteel view behind [member="Gilamar Skirata"] showed a clear view of the system, where it seemed like half the stars were covered by ships. Extracting debris, shipping in supplies, and handling general terraforming efforts.

"How is the restoration effort going?" The Muun asked, caught up a bit in the site of all the rebuilding. Mandalore, Coruscant, Osarian, Donyand, Togoria. So many worlds had suffered lately. Hopefully Mandalore would have a brighter tomorrow.

Glasses clinked as Gil reached underneath his desk to pull up a glass and growler filled with a thick black liquid reminiscent of crude oil. Gill only filled half the glass, it wouldn't do for potential client and business partner to be making decisions while intoxicated.

"It goes...slow." He paused before handing the Muun his drink. "But the Mandalorian restoration effort isn't why this meeting was arranged. Remind me of what we're here for." He took a swig of his drink and took a seat, inviting Mars to do the same.

Mars took a sip of the Mandalorian beverage, which looked more suited for use in a speeder engine than a Muun's stomach and noted the drinks strength. It was good the MandalMotors CEO only half-filled the glass. Better not to waste the rest of the drink, or worse, get into a business arrangement while inebriated. He suspected the Mandalorian was, but the human body was resilient, and very adaptable. If one drank everyday the body simply adjusted, and worked differently.

Hopefully.

"Our company is going to host a professional convention of bounty hunters on Zonju V, in Outer Rim Coalition space. We'd like your company to be there, as we expect a large amount of the customer base will appreciate having authentic Mandalorian goods to purchase. The capital city is surrounded by valleys fit for speeders or even cloudcars and starfighter demonstrations, and we'd be happy to help you set up in a way beneficial to displaying your products." Mars said, and took the hint that Gilamar didn't wish to speak about the restoration effort. Some things were personal, and Mars understood the value in pulling away from some angles.

He nodded.

"My aides from another company I work with told me about that. MandalMotors would be glad to be there. In fact we have something perfect for up and coming mercenaries that we'd love to show off there." He didn't tell the Muun that one of his companies, the Shriek-Hawks, already had a booth. Sometimes though, things needed to just be on paper before they were official.

"You said this would be on Zonju V?" He hadn't been around those parts in a while. He wondered if the Organas were doing alright.

A new up and coming product? That was exciting news indeed. If the convention garnered a reputation for being a ground for new company products it would certainly bring in additional business from year to year.

"Yes, the Outer Rim Coalition is excited to host the event. Zonju V has enough spaceport capability and open terrain to accomodate a large amount of Bounty Hinters as well as product demonstrations and events. We plan on having raffles, competitions, discussion panels, and some live music to conclude each day. If you have any suggestions for particular events, panel hosts, or raffle prizes we would be delighted to help set them up."

"MandalMotors would love to have a booth and help sponsor the event."

Easy, he would need to talk to his aides in order to figure out what kind of booth they would set up, but any publicity for MandalMotors would be helpful for the company as much of its construction crews have been on Mandalore spearheading repair and rescure operations in Keldabe.
