  • "I've gone through what has seamlessly been hundreds of battles fought on hundreds of worlds in a galaxy that tears itself apart. There's been no death that I have not encountered, felt, and endured through every fiber of my being. There is only one thing at the end of this war that I have left. It is all that remains.

And I will not lose it."

    circa 3620 BBY
    • The Third War - Initiative
      Dark Ops Divider, Grey
      Early Life, 12 BTC - 4 ATC

Born to a different life. Born with a different name. Yet a fate awaited the young boy of Anastasia Espionza and Frederick Lennart. A mother from a world unknown to the galaxy, and a father who had once been a hardworking politician who was no better than a common crook. Frederick's bloodline existed far before 12 BTC, before the birth of a young boy that would take on his mantle some day and carry on that legacy of long standing senators that stood by the Republic. Yet when conniving for his own gains, it really didn't matter if the Republic was still standing, did it?

His mother would disappear soon after the young boy's birth, though his father knew the truth wasn't the belief he instilled in him of her mother's death. He would never know the truth, nor what she looked like. That held a bigger impact on his eventual future more than anyone could have expected, especially as his tyrant of a father forced him into a legacy he never wished for. A legacy he would spend as much as sixteen years having to endure from the study of politics, to the stifling affairs of afternoon gatherings and galas. Perhaps it was his young eyes that caught the real act of cloak and daggers within the Senate. Where smiles were never genuine, promises given but never to be fulfilled, while everyone played the game to gain a upper hand against political opponents and allies alike.

The young teen grew resentful. Eventually his night time studies turned into nightly adventures, sneaking out not only from his abode but into the neighboring districts of the Senatorial District. Of course the first few times he had trouble, but after a newly hired servant caught on, instead of ruining these outings the man known only as Kole would help him in these endeavors. These went on for a year or so, almost becoming a common occurrence for the pair to be out and about, wandering from one new sight to the next to indulge instead of the young boy being stuffed up in a room in the studies he held a heated passion of disgust for. It was only some time before this servant would be caught.

The last time Kole was last seen would truly be the last. There had been no denying it, he had either been killed or he would die later starving to death. There would be no saving him, the young boy knew that well enough. It wasn't long after he began his own escape, abandoning not only the fate that had been forced on him but even being disowned by his own father. As pained as one might've been, he didn't see the old man as his father.

Not one bit. Since the Sacking of Coruscant and the Cold War lighting a fire to a whole new war, there was the allure of fighting a war torn galaxy and rebuilding it with strong hands. So he stepped into an Army recruiting office, opting to abandon his original name for one that would bring much attention later on in his life- Octang.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Battle of Ilum, 13 ATC

The Second Galactic War had been for the better part a good chunk of Octang's life now, having spent nine years of it realizing that war wasn't all the once young and eager kid thought it was meant to be. Being a soldier was a bigger job than doing your job, uncomfortable was a way of life at any moment. Though fortunate for him, up to this point his postings around the galaxy hadn't been exactly tormenting or chaotic. The highlight of being posted on an edge world away from the world had usually been getting shot at, as there meant action was shortly to come before the threat would just run off or a scum sucker got blown out the dirt from mortar fire. A few other deployments and postings out along the Outer Rim went from cozy stay to desperate firefights, one record even indicating he jumped to the defense at an inconvenient time for himself, with rifle and hand and a chest plate. Only the rifle and chest plate.

Enough time in the service and he'd eventually find an active rotation into the 53rd Assault Battalion, callsign 'Rolling Fists'. They weren't like pure Republic Troopers, but they were the closest thing to match in dedication and tenacity- Even the whites of their armor was instead coated with a bronze color as a part of status above the regular orange-trimmed infantry units. Balmorra had been their shining example, and it would be Octang's turn to join them as a grenadier within the SpecForce capable unit. And it wouldn't be long before the war came. The true war that hadn't come to him at any point before now. Several hours upon hours would the fighting continue, never stopping for anyone to catch their breath or to figure out where the enemy came from next. You either kept on top of the game, or you were dead right there. Unfortunately for him and the two squads that happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, they didn't get much time to figure out how they were going to take on a Sith charging their very own lines.

In the span of only a few minutes, twenty men were cut down. Left and right, no mercy or thought given to the men that laid dying on an icy world that made the embrace of death all that more harsh in the afterlife. All experienced soldiers and never backed down from a fight giving death wails from one man to the next. It was this day that Octang earned the notable scar over his eye, the weight of the cannon he toted had made him trip backwards as the Sith charged with the slash of his saber. Had he not done so, he'd have been cleaved in two. More so, the accidental squeeze of his trigger had let tip a short lived volley, and coincidently ripped fist sized chunks into the Sith's torso, killing him instantly.

Many had told him he was lucky. The lone survivor hadn't thought so for a very, very long time.

      Republic Command Initiative, 27 ATC

Conflict was as natural as his breathing. The newly dubbed Third War became full swing after the fall of Zakuul. The 53rd Battalion conducted raid and guerilla operations where they could, but now that the Republic was throwing themselves back against the Empire, there was no more need of hiding. Especially for the perpetual Staff Sergeant Octang. A squad leader who once led brave men into battle, as it wasn't long ago that the Rolling Fists were deactivated. The Senate had their fingers all over it, the man could see the signs as easy as it came from his youth. And now instead of Kole, trusted and capable soldiers were now being sent to edge stations where it'd later be reported they met an untimely end at one point or another.

There wasn't much that could be done. His commanding officer had been lucky enough to keep him locked in paperwork hell to keep from meeting the same fate as the rest of the battalion, which the sergeant may have been thankful for a time. During this time, Octang came across a Chiss scientist - known as Nir'jayr'lina - with ties to the Ascendancy, and with a rather... insane goal that would never be revealed so early on in their meeting. What did, however, was the proposition- Cybernetic augmentations, to remain as a soldier should be- A soldier. There was no hesitation for a soldier who saw no other way to go in his life. This unfortunately leads to his abduction by a remnant of the Star Cabal, which had been short lived due to unknown entities.

The rescue however couldn't be more timely enough. The paper work hell had been circumvented through a loophole, and soon Octang found himself in service of the Republic Command Initiative- REPCOM for short, as a special operations sergeant. Soon thereafter, he found himself on the streets of Lusovich, a world taken control by the Empire for it's position along the border of the Kalee Expanse, and a people exploited for their working force and low quality of life. The fighting was nothing the Staff Sergeant wasn't used to, even as bodies piled the streets and any fighting they came into was a desperate fight for survival. And yet he thrived, all the way until the Darth leading the occupation met his untimely, albeit just end.

Before he'd realize, Turkana was the next stomping ground. An Imperial world a few jumps away from Mon Calamari, the fighting here would be the most brutal he's experienced as of yet, especially as he had been placed in charge of an entire regiment after the last commander faced an extreme injury. Why he had been selected out of anyone else, he wasn't quite sure. Yet what the men would tell you is that his gung-ho attitude and unfaltering morale was what made him the best choice to lead the 72nd Assault Regiment into combat. And while the deployment resulted in the retreat of the Republic, it would be the start of a fate for no one other...
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    • The Third War - Fire and Blood

      Dark Ops Divider, Grey
Battle of Munto Codru, 27 ATC

The 72nd Coruscant Wolverines Regiment had been founded under the newly appointed officer Second Lieutenant Octang, a unit known for withstanding the devastating morale shock of not only facing a legion of Sith warriors on the retreat from Turkana, but Sithspawn demons the size of buildings and towers that seemingly came from nowhere. The battles fought on that planet had broken REPCOM, so much so that entire units were wiped out nearly to the last man. The next battle was going to be tough if casualties kept surmounting the damage that could be done, and unfortunately there wouldn't be much opportunity to recuperate before the next deployment.

Munto Codru was an underdeveloped world, home of the Codru-Ji and similarly a few jumps from Mon Cala, just only in between it and Turkana. This would be the new stomping grounds, and it would be up to him and another Green Jedi Knight to bring the planet's inhabitants to the Republic's side. Yet she never showed, so it all relied on a single officer in charge of the Republic's negotiations efforts. The pressure didn't give him a moment of hesitation, already playing the locals at their game of tradition- political kidnapping. Not only kidnapping a local power's daughter, but the kidnapper who took her in addition. It was well known this tradition was respected, and he was blowing the competition out the water.

Until things turned sour with the Jedi in the efforts. The Codru-Ji were skeptical of the Force, fearful of it even, and there was major dishonor when refusing to kill your opponent in a duel. Suffice it to say, these things occurred, and when the Empire arrived to counteract the Republic's efforts, it was done with ease. It wasn't long before tensions rose to the point of blasters firing in a no-fire zone in orbit, Republic fighters firing on masses of Imperial landing shuttles bringing their Marines to the planet's surface. Before long, fighting broke out all over the planet and no one was safe. The capital city had been blown into a gigantic crater, and another central city nearly met the same fate had it not been for a Mandalorian dreadnought siding with the Republic sacrificed itself in the process of preventing another orbital bombardment.

As the fighting began, a whole new division of mint white Republic Troopers had been trained, and given command to the quickly promoted Lieutenant, to Captain, and now Colonel. Over the span of several hours, the 72nd Coruscant Wolverines grew from a regiment to a full size division. A freshly minted unit straight out of Basic, and led into the grinder to produce a whole new battle doctrine solely for those with the insatiable appetite for war. So much so that Octang turned from soldier to warrior throughout some of the fighting, turning inspiring speeches to war cries even as they chased the Empire off a shattered world. It was detrimental in the end when it came to casualties, but before anyone knew it there was a new doctrine in the making.

However, Octang lost more than he realized just as it was too late. While there was no real blood relation, he grew close to a Jedi who seemed to regard him as her father more than anything else. But of course, when the last holocall he received of her joining the Empire, well. It was hard to believe he was going to lose the one thing he never really thought he'd actually wanted, and would come to a weakness later on in the war.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raid of Mon Calamari Shipyards, 28 ATC

Despite the Battle for Munto Codru ended so little ago, the Empire managed to gather a strike force to launch an assault on the Mon Calamari Shipyards. The Wolverines would be deployed once again, only a few battalions worth and their Colonel in command as the rest of the division focused on repurposing their unit to fit the new vision that fit no one better than only themselves. It would be needed for the war ahead, as the fighting here in the Zero-G environments and inside the hulls of under construction Republic vessels were just as brutal as they were now understanding them to be.

It even grew to the point that nearly a full battalion's worth of Wolverines were annihilated from an unsuspecting chemical warfare weapon. Nathaniel Barker, a venerated captain that proved himself to be a hardass but a determined leader, would survive this conflict to become known as the first 'Battle' Captain, a sort of honorific that recognized Wolverines that showed themselves capable against the odds after his own encounter against a Sith assassin who hunted Wolverines. The Red color signified had come after the fact of the saber just missing the Battle Captain's head and striking through his pauldron, where the signature Honorifics of the left pauldron became common practice even after his death to an unknown gunslinger.

However, an issue arose. After discovering the treacherous intentions of his augments, Octang sought out another cybertech specialist to remove the culprits to deny the possibility of remote control being a tangible threat. But the unknown side effect, which had shown itself on Munto, was the increasing rage over time that would inevitably lead to one's death through a variety of methods. One he nearly succumbed to, having picked a fight with an Imperial Marine that was more than just your average shooter. But after an intense round of combat, the Wolverine came above in a vicious bloodletting that was very uncharacteristic of him at any time before this point. So much so he was on the brink of death had he not been dragged back by Republic Marines watching the whole encounter go down.

This would come into play later.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raid of Cantras Gola, 28 ATC

It would come so soon. After the successful raid on the shipyards of Mon Cala, it was time for the Republic to be back on the offensive before the Empire struck again. An active volcanic world known for its rich materials and thick atmosphere, the only entry to reach the planet's surface were possible via skyhooks built on either side of the only city built on its surface. The only issue was once the invasion began, the Empire hadn't the time to evacuate its civilian populace. Let enough time pass and the Imperials would surely hunker down, attack too soon and innocent defenseless lives would be lost.

After the actions on both Munto Codru and the shipyards, Brigadier General Octang was left with the decision as it had been his offensive. Under the harsh criticism of his colleagues within the 'Basic' Army contingents the Wolverines began to call, the evacuation was allowed to continue and give the opportunity for the Empire to build their defenses. Yet when the Wolverines came bearing down, the lead element had been left to Staff Sergeant Wildrow Hoxton, veteran of the battle leading up from Turkana and a capable leader of his own squad, Tactical Team Twisted. Despite the team losing half the six man element through the fighting, and a majority of the Wolpack wounded or outright killed in battle, victory was achieved. They drove back the enemy defenders to pave way for the further advance of Republic forces.

This is where Octang landed himself in the first controversy in the war, and faced legitimate criminal charges for. The Imperial commander had no chance to escape, and before she could realize it, the General had arrived in a controlled albeit narrow rage that when a compatriot arrived, the order had been given to restrain only the prisoner's right arm for him to sever with the use of a plasma ax, crafted by a Korinthian mad genius of the era. Of course, he had snapped out of it once the deed was done, and there was no avoiding the consequences. At the end of the deployment, he'd face a demotion and lost command of his troops, yet the Wolverines were defiant against the latter. Perhaps a problem for some, but worked out well in the end.

      Lusovich Insurgency, 28 ATC

The world of Lusovich, residing on the edge of the Kalee Expanse and only a few jumps from Dantooine itself, was freed from Imperial occupation for over a year now. The people of this harsh, cold planet would experience their freedom, only for it to be under the tight grasp of a radical insurgency preparing for REPCOM’s return, and furthermore to establish a semi-permanent base of operations for the Kalee Expanse. While having expected to be regaled as heroes and welcomed with open arms, the sudden appearance of refurbished war machines and platoons of rebel fighters led to open fighting within the capital city’s streets. Blood spilled and bodies laid twisted much like the old wounds of war the world still bore to that day, with new marks being left behind in the wake of an open insurgency.

Octang himself had been kept busy throughout all the fighting. His Wolverines especially more so, even as to the discovery of an old, abandoned fortress in the snow peaked mountains. While still somewhat fresh, the first veterans of the Wolverines were able to clear out the Free Lusovich Army (FLA) fighters residing within, and take the fortress for themselves as the heart and fire of what would later bring strength and spirit to the warrior unit. Corridors and chambers ran throughout the underground, all not put to waste as fabricators came online, and the first schematics of war walkers called Stompers underwent extensive review and study. Even the largest of chambers used for some machining purpose had been altered to give a final resting place for those venerable Wolverines who have perished in battle, and left a legacy behind along with the weapons and armor that would be later regarded as relics among their kind.

It was slowly becoming an fanatical belief more than a hardy unit of warriors and killers.

The insurgency itself would last for another year, but it would bring forth a hard fought victory for the Initiative, but also for the honored and deadly Wolverines. The chronicles told of this day had been brutal, as a company of ferocious Wolverines brought themselves to bear against the fortified and prepared FLA defenders, considered the best of their ragtag formation. The battle that raged for the hour it lasted was almost hell itself, no Wolverine fell to death’s grasp unlike many of those rebels who still lived and threw down their weapons in surrender. The might of the Gray and Yellow had been a haunting vision for those that still lived after that day, and their leader? A red Lethan had taken the honor of taking his life, despite the glorious onslaught that led to this point. What many didn’t realize was that this would not be their mark in the galaxy. Not yet.

    • The Third War - Shadowfall

      Dark Ops Divider, Grey
      Battle of Gelda, 28 ATC

Gelda, a hospitable climate world home to many Mirialans hoping to avoid being dragged into a war that enveloped the galaxy around them, had no such luck of avoiding the fires of war. A moss grown specifically on the planet held a special property in medicinal fields, and with its location between a valiant Republic and ruthless Empire, there was bound to be a need for new resources in the battle of attrition. However, a previous engagement leading into the battle of Gelda had been detrimental to the Republic.

Leading a company of Wolverines onto a nearby world being ravaged by Sith in their grand alchemical exploits, Imperial marines and twisted Cordu-Ji savages overpowered every man to the last, leaving the Wolverine General left in an inoculated state produced by his internal augmentations. Had he died there in that vicious slaughter he would be spared the torment of his capture, the most prominent note the optic nerves of his eyes being severed by the sharp blade of a knife. For the remainder of the battle, even after escaping captivity in unknown circumstances, he remained blind and bruised from harsh Imperial ‘hospitality’.

Despite their commander not being with them, the Wolfpack carried on with their task even while mourning the potential death that became of Octang. Their skirmishes had left them battered, yet not broken even as Darth Harbinger laid siege to an ancient monastery deep in the Geldan mountains against the majority of the Initiative’s army. Without so much as pause or hesitation, Battle Sergeant Wildrow Hoxton took mantle of leadership on the eve of onslaught against the siege, commanding the battlefield as if he were the voice of their leader himself. The casualties were brutal, yet against the hordes of Sithspawn and Kanasazi warriors, corrupted rancors and twisted metal tanks- Mortal men of the Wolverines went against all the odds to slay six for every one Wolverine that died to their last fighting breath. The chronicle had been marked as the Grand Kiaran Hunt, the legend drawn into the halls of the Wolverine’s fortress on Lusovich with the image of a large, bulky assault Stomper with a plasma cannon arm sending forth and obliteration of a beam through the torso of one of many corrupted Rancors, while both Kanasazi and Wolverine engaged in melee combat.

Darth Harbinger retreated from the world in the wake of the Wolverines in their glorious victory. Many lay dead, so many that the mountains underneath the thick layers of snow still ran black with the blood spilled that day. Yet everything led to this moment, as it would be now that the Wolverines were now known throughout the galaxy as the bane of Sithspawn, and while many feared to face such abominations in the galaxy, it would only be these honor bound men and women of the Republic that didn’t hold their ground, but ran into the fray despite death hanging over their heads.

Hence their motto to war cry- ‘Glory to the Pack’.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Infestation of Korinth, 28 ATC

It wasn’t long after the battle of Gelda where not only the Wolverines, but also Octang would be called for a new battle. The Republic formed many alliances with many worlds in the galaxy that would not only follow their beliefs, but aid in the form of innovation and military might. Korinth was one of many worlds, but none like no other. Its people were a hard working society, known not only for their groundbreaking advances in the known sciences, but their legion warrior culture that produced the smallest, but strongest of armed forces within the galaxy. An emperor ruled over this world, however, not so long after his death that brought about a feud between the heirs of the vacant throne.

A war between the Slayer and the Betrayer was brought in the form of an infection. Sithspawn began to emerge from the denizens of the world, and not long thereafter traitor legions would aid in the Betrayer’s benefit of destroying their homeworld. The Slayer however aimed to return his world to its former glory, and so it would be by the aid of both Korinthian legions and Wolverine regiments. If the pair were already formidable on their own, the combined force was nothing to trifle with. Korinthians were hardy warriors, whether with blaster or shield, but the wolverines with their garnering knowledge of slaying monstrosities slayed dozens by each minute they spent on that world. It took only a matter of weeks before the Sithspawn hordes were reduced to pitiful numbers.

As for Octang, he earned one of the biggest kills to be garnered from the conflict. Both him and the Slayer hunted down and slain a Sithspawn horror, as big and tall as one of the many buildings that could be found within the capital city. At the end it left a large heaping mountain of dead flesh and muscle, its husk remaining there until it would be burned to ashes. The records detailing of how the civil war between Betrayer and Slayer concluded are unknown, aside from the simple fact that the Slayer now reigns over Korinth, and is worshipped as a living god by both religious zealots of and the citizenry of Korinth alike. The Wolverines in relation to their newfound allies would forge a powerful alliance of warriors for the days to come.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Battle of Dubrillion, 28 ATC

Up to this point, the Initiative’s fighting in the Kalee Expanse had been to stem the Imperial war machine from reaching both Republic and Neutrally-aligned worlds to bring forth their wrath. Dubrillion itself had once been a developed world, until the Zakuulan fleets ravaged the galaxy, much like this world when it resisted the stranglehold and was then met with unfathomable destruction from orbit. Now lying in ruins and a people that was only just now beginning to rebuild, the Empire reached the world first in order to work a more amicable deal compared to their well known reputation. And wherever one was, the other would not be far behind them. And so it happened here that the Republic’s Initiative would bring war to the planet once again.

No ground was ever gained by the Republic, yet when the Wolverines took to the field there was no equal. Ambushes in ruined cities or running airborne operations in a raging brawl, these men of gray and yellow were vicious and brutal wherever they went. Darth Harbinger once again showed himself to another contest which he would be sorely beaten in. The men under Octang had taken well into their role of not only warriors, but Sithspawn slayers, even as a Krayt Dragon brought back from death had attempted to break both morale and body to only be slain itself in the midst of battle. It was only thereafter, that while the leader of the Initiative had been captured by Imperial forces, Octang himself had volunteered to a dangerously bold and foolish plan. He would challenge Darth Harbinger to a duel, and he would lose. Only to be captured and held within captivity with his leader, while a silent transponder within his augmentations would continuously send out a signal to Republic forces. The plan had worked surprisingly, with both him and the High Jedi General retrieved, despite the casualties the fleet gained in the rescue.

However, things would take a drastic turn. The Republic was in full retreat, and there was only so much time before Imperial forces would converge on top of them. In a quick decision of fate, Octang had volunteered himself to take the 4th Armored Regiment ‘Robino’ of the Wolfpack to delay the Imperials for as long as capably possible. All that was left from the battle would be the General himself, for the entire regiment had been killed to the last man, he not so far behind them. Especially as now-Lord Veritrix herself came for what remained of it. A short duel commenced, only for it to end with the severing of his hand, and before she could deliver the final blow, Republic orbital bombardments had wrecked the surrounding area to separate the two violently. Both had survived miraculously, one through Sithcraft, and the other through unknown circumstances…
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Shadowfall, 29 ATC

No one had been prepared for what was to come. More especially Octang, even as while more laid in store for him, he would unknowingly begin a path that would ultimately change his ways of warfighting in the galaxy. Dark Ops had been well known by the Initiative by now, elite operators under the SIS as Project Orion. Lethal shadows and precise operators, and now, the Wolverine was among them as an auxiliary to the prime example of what it means to be a Dark Operator- Kill Team Victory, led by the Director Dean Bloom himself, a long time friend by this point in time.

What almost led to a complete dissolution of Dark Ops had been the attempt of defecting to the Empire by the standing Director and his closest companion with a Sith alchemical designed to spread and kill anything that breathed in the extremely deadly orange clouds. However, Initiative forces including Octang himself had been able to deny the event from occuring, only to learn that there really was no defection. It would be a one way trip to cripple the Empire before they lost the chance of delivering the devastating strike. All in protest against a sect of SIS command ordering the weapon to be used on the Dubrillion itself, to kill both Republic and Imperial forces in an all more catastrophic delivery to bring the Republic that much closer to ending the war.

Now those long shadows came to haunt the organization of Dark Ops, and it showed quickly as one of Dark Ops’ own operators had attempted the life of a High Jedi General. The wounds proved lethal, but she had survived the incident under intensive bacta solutions. The traitor himself had been hunted down, though discovered to have been under mental conditioning under the pretenses of a sect under SIS Command itself; Heorem. Little is known of the sect of SIS, especially its own director, Halcrombe, except for the fact of being directly involved with the incident, as well as leading to the Shadowfall- A contingency set in place to eliminate the assets of Task Force 15 in its entirety if certain conditions were met. Or rather, achieved.

It didn’t take long for the Kill Team to find themselves on Halcrombe’s personal yacht entering Lusovich orbit, and soon thereafter breaching the vessel, they began to systematically terminate any Heorem operative they came across, so much so that eventually they caused the ship to crash on top of a tall structure within the capital of Lusovich itself. Difficulty increased by the time they arrived at his personal quarters, where an HK-model droid had given the team a much desperate fight before the machine was riddled and marked in blaster bolts all over. All it took to end the problem of their lives was one bolt through the dome, the fat bloated corpse not having the time to fit himself into a mechanized exoskeleton to fight for his miserable life. It was only after that another droid emerged to cling onto another operator, pulling him out of the exposed viewport to the raging fires below. All that both Dean and Octang could do with the other Dark Operators was stand and watch as the former indoctrinated traitor became engulfed in a fate that awaited him.

    • The Third War - Covenant

      Dark Ops Divider, Grey
      Phantoms of Phaegon, 28 ATC

The battles of the Initiative have been nothing like no other as to what they would face now. Discoveries have been made in looking into Octang’s escape from not only Imperial captivity on Gelda, but also in his last ditch effort to survive the attempted assassination performed by Veritrix. During his captivity by the sect of the Star Cabal, what they had attempted to perform was control over his augmentations via an old, ancient spirit from a long forgotten Sith cult specializing in the form of Mechu Deru- A very dark power granting the ability for control of technology and machinery. They had been successful in planting this spirit into their captive, however, it still remained dormant for a time until only recently.

The spirit had been known only as Phaedge. Or, the original entity attempting control over the Wolverine General’s augments. Another half of her, known only as the ‘Scribe’ - and fit the name perfectly in many regards - forewarned of what exactly would be awakening soon, an old devourer who brought the end of her Tech Shaman cult by consuming their essence before the planet of Phaegon Prime followed suit. The remaining shamans were only capable of one last act, to sever her essence from her physical form to be trapped within a Lignan crystal. Only to be recovered by the Star Cabal, either oblivious or ignorant to the threat such a Mechu Deru spirit could wreak throughout the known galaxy.

An expedition had been set out to Phaegon Prime to be rid of this evil for good, yet however, the Wolverine squad and the accompanying former Sith had gone silent for days now. A rescue party had been formed to set forth onto the planet, only to find that a handful of the Wolverines with the former Sith were the only survivors fending off a pack of Phaeghounds- Canine-like animals with fur black as night and eyes that glowed a bright amber, whose diet consisted of feasting on the dark Force energies the planet dormantly emitted, and those energies of Jedi especially were a delicacy to them. Later on they would find not only an ancient guardian that was born of both rotten flesh and ancient durable machinery, but that the Tech Shamans of Phaegon Prime took their devotion to the point of allowing their bodies to become eternal protectors of their holy sites. Throughout all the odds, Octang would be found having been possessed by the spirit in the eve of victory.

Quick thinking with an EMP device however allowed the spirit to join a new body without any harm to Octang, though this new body was as deadly as it was ancient. A war machine, perhaps built for the very purpose of shamans continuing their duties within the body of the machine, and this one a powerful if not deadly guardian all in its own right. Yet despite the spike launchers mounted on each arm and hampering the abilities of those from the party with cybernetic alterations and powered armor, the fight itself was not nearly as dangerous once the Tech-Witch’s machine had begun to break down from missed maintenance. It wouldn’t be long until the ugly head of the machine had been pierced through by a lightsaber, ending the reign of the Destroyer of Phaegon before it could ever reemerge into a galaxy ripe for her taking…

Second Battle of Fortressa, 28 ATC

The war raged onward. The Empire pushed forward for the counter attack, striking forth into Republic space after a major defeat in Dubrillion space. The next world falling under the scope however had already taken a massive beating in the past- Fortressa. Once a fortress world of the Republic Command Initiative, it now remained a barren waste world after the consecutive bombardment after bombardment to break the world’s defenses apart. Little remained of any civilization, save for the husks of broken structures and scattered craters throughout the landscape.

The true goal for the Empire had been the ancient Rakatan device hidden in the world. It was a finicky thing, yet when able to be used properly, it could rip the Force from those that fall underneath the device's purview, or worse, tear the Dark out from within one’s being. It had been aptly named the Beacon for this, and it was a powerful if not dangerous machine that mysteriously runs to this day. However, the Sith intend on removing this demonstration of ingenuity from the days of the ancients from the known galaxy.

It was no mistake to assume the fighting had not been any less brutal. Wolverine units beyond the Wolfpack pressed the assault on Imperial landing sites while Initiative forces barely held the line from breaking. There had been too close a moment that the Imperial just might break through, before Republic forces were able to use the rough mountains of the planet to hold back the massive assault, and turned it back against their invaders. Nothing extraordinary occurred beyond holding the planet and keeping the Beacon out of destructive hands.

      Corulaire, 29 ATC

Dean Bloom was dead. A shock to anyone who knew Director Death well and a defiance to accept the truth if it weren’t for recorded footage confirming the deed. The Initiative had been dealt a heavy blow, Dark Ops a deep wound, and Octang with another name to add to the long list of brothers lost fighting the Third Galactic War. Task Force Fourteen now left with no dependable and capable leader had now been wrought to disorder, and formerly deactivated and stood down in finality. FOG-7 had been raised up in its place, nothing like the former in any remarks, and especially to be found out in the worst ways possible, including its own Director.

Finding himself in need of exploring the past, Octang takes a small expedition to the planet of Corulaire, REPCOM’s former planetary base of operations now turned into a living wasteland of a world after a catastrophe from underground struck. With him happens to be the Director of FOG-7, both men and an accompanying war droid landing on the planet’s surface and shortly finding the hunting hideout of the former Dean Bloom. A quick investigation led the trio to a dugout revealing the entrance to a secure bunker, with a Heorem agent attempting to cut his way into the locked structure only to be killed on the spot instead as the agent attempted to inform them as to what may lay behind the coded entrance.

The agent hadn’t lied either. The small bunker itself was the center of preparation for not only surviving the doomsday of the galaxy, but causing another catastrophe of unimaginable proportions. The sith alchemical concoction laid before the trio in a locked capsule, known only as Divoc-91. There was no way to destroy the trapped deadly fumes, at least not one that would be ever known. Along with this discovery came with grave expectations. Not only had Octang been selected to be the next Director of Dark Ops, but was left with all the knowledge of Heorem and their terrible deeds. And thus led to the revelation of the Ghost Fleet, dormant and standing by for a confirmation code to jump through an uncharted hyperlane into Coruscant space. And destroy the Senate Tower to end the Republic’s corruption at the source of it all.

Octang didn’t agree with the plan, or at least- He didn’t see a reason to yet. His compatriot at this moment, however, believed in the plan wholeheartedly to the point of nearly enacting this plan right then and there on the spot. What kept the argument from boiling over to a lethal confrontation had been a Corellian Lord teleporting as if from nowhere into the room- And was all none the happier about Republicans being in his space. A gunfight getting out of the late Dean Bloom’s bunker had been tough, but left Octang with the now mythical MK IV Protean armor, and the knowledge to be wary of the man he once saw as an ally. He would be right all too soon.

      Invasion of Kalee, 29 ATC

The High Jedi General’s intent for REPCOM’s mission in the Kalee Expanse was finally becoming true. Every battle, raid, defensive measure, and death led to this day. The planet of Kalee, the heart and soul of the Empire within the sector, was finally within grasp. An outright assault would be detrimental, but with enough covert maneuvers to infiltrate the planet and discretion to aid the local Kaleesh clans to rebel against their Imperial overlords, then pushing the Empire off Kalee would be possible enough. But oh, how things can go wrong so suddenly. Within the first weeks, a Republic operative had gone well out of his way to reveal his presence on the planet, and Republic Army assets botched a rescue operation to the point of killing more slaves they attempted to rescue than save.

Octang himself was having doubts that anything was going to go well from here on out, especially as open fighting began to take the stage as Republic fleets emerged at the edge of the system. The brawls eventually came from the stars overhead to the plains of Kalee itself, enveloping its major continent as Republic and Imperial forces with Kaleesh support on both sides waged out the most bloody conflict between the two powers to date. Orbital bombardments were not spared, and fortresses either laid in crumbled husks or repurposed strength. One thing that was clear, however, was the Empire’s victory. Even the Republic had begun to fight against itself, as FOG-7 operatives had begun the unlawful preparation of introducing chemical weapons of war into a water reservoir for one of the major cities, and even went as far to avoid attempts at communication.

If the Director of FOG-7 hadn't died in a firefight by an Imperial Admiral, it would have been by Octang’s hands sooner or later.

Yet the Wolverine General would fight his way to the end of the invasion. Single handedly with the Wolfpack Brigade, several Imperial forces were beaten and pushed back from a major flanking route, and the Wolverine went as far as to push further into hostile territory and constructing a fort to fend off wave after wave of the growing Imperial numbers, all until the fortification could hold no longer. Only hours before did he barely survive his last encounter with Lord Veritrix in a duel of fates, and one he nearly lost had it not been for a Jedi to recover him from what fate may have been in store for him. Surviving against Imperial Marines, cultists, raging Kaleesh loyalists, and another confrontation by orbital bombardment, Octang would live on without much an ounce of doubt what he may do next. There was no avoiding the future in his hands.

      Taris Reclamation Operations, 29 ATC

In the time the Third Galactic War had been slowing down, the Initiative turned its sights to Taris. Imperial forces continued to be a nuisance in the jungles of metal and ruins, they always remained to be a low level threat. However, reports of a Darth on planet beginning experimentation on captured Republic civilians had been enough cause for a prompt reaction for REPCOM forces to converge onto the planet. Not only to continue reclamation efforts, but to look further into the situation revolving around this Darth.

It was later into the deployment itself that it was now known that the experimentation involved the Rakghoul virus. The first threat had been a powerful Force Sensitive Rakghoul, but also intelligent enough to control hordes upon hordes of these typically wild beasts. What made matters worse were the fact that captured civilians were at the mercy of the Darth’s insatiable desire for his own pursuits that many were induced under harsh transmutation from the administered virus in a controlled environment. As it can be, anyway. Eventually this facility would be discovered, raided, and while the Darth had given an ultimatum - the civilian’s lives for the Darth’s unhindered departure - Octang had made a fatal flaw. Attempting to instead capture the Sith, a launched net had instead been wrapped around an Imperial officer as the facility began to erupt in a series of explosions. It was unknown at the end how many innocent lives were lost, only estimations rounding to the mid-hundreds.

Perhaps it was a lapse of judgment. Or he had finally been inadvertently losing the edge that made him the Wolverine he was known to be. In a final battle against the Darth and his controlled horde of Rakghouls, Octang would accompany a strike team to eliminate a primary target- A fully sentient Rakghoul that towered over any normal being several times over. The fight to slay the abomination had been hard won, but the day still young as hordes upon hordes of ghouls would converge on the main Initiative force as the strike team and Octang reconvened to deal with the threat. Another large battle against the Darth took place, and victory had been short lived before escaping the planet to continue his devious pursuits elsewhere.

It would be an unforeseen campaign, but one that made the reclaiming of Taris all the more easier now.

      Cataclysm of Aurea, 29 ATC

Octang, a Republic Army General, has officially retired. After nearly 25 years serving and fighting in a war that consumed nearly his entire life, he would be leaving it all behind to start a new life. Command of the Wolverines would be entrusted to the dynamic duo of War Colonel Aerina Ryda, and the newly honored Glory Commander Wildrow Hoxton. Unofficially, the former officer would still be involved with the war. Dark Ops needed a Director, and he would take upon the mantle of Amadleka, Director War, to continue operations. To keep a just organization from becoming nothing more than scattered groups of well trained assassins and warfighters.

This transition of life had brought about a new perspective to the former warrior, filling in the role that was expected of him while also never straying from operating in the field. His duties and ambitions led him to the Corellian world of Aurea, a planet covered in the open expression of art in all of its beautiful and bizarre manners. However, a civil war would break out on the planet in the midst of operations, sudden like a thunderclap as the world became engulfed in a chaotic war with little sides, and blurred the lines of morality. Water cooled generators powering the capital city had combusted after some fault in the fighting, and had roared the city with superheated flooding that tore through buildings and flesh like no difference whatsoever. It was cataclysm, pure and simple. A world full of beauty had now been defiled to the point of becoming a survival battleground.

How Octang escaped had been with luck, skill, and tactical precision. Through his escape, commandeering a vehicle to the only remaining palace within the surrounding area had been the only call possible to find any trip offworld, and it made it none the more easier that while the structure continued to slowly crumble around him, Corellian Green Army troops wouldn’t let anyone pass so easily, gunning down any that came within their sights. In the end, after leaving a trail of bodies and escaping the grasp of a familiar Corellian Lord, a vessel off world was acquired, and he would be off to elsewhere, as what the duties of being Director called him to be by his own volition.

      Incursion of Farath, 29 ATC

The world of Farath had been an interesting one. It would be far out into the Unexplored Regions, so deep that anyone wouldn’t know that the system would be there without a signal coming from the sector itself. The message bore a cry for assistance, on a world that was independent from the Republic and Empire. Not unlike Zakuul in becoming an unexpected power to interrupt the warring galaxy once more, but unique that it was really unsure at first glance how a medieval-esque world would become that threat one day.

However, as Octang provided his assistance, learned the fact that his mother had truly not expired but was indeed ruler of this Lahabiel Dominion, there was a greater threat emerging within the system than anyone could ever have anticipated. An ancient Celestial had become a lich-like being, and through the many thousands upon thousands of years in isolation, had begun to grow mad with the desire not for preservation, but for destruction. A planet within the Farathian system was instead a smooth dyson sphere, its exterior surface rocky and barren yet its interior brimming with unimaginable horrors of demon-like entities. Lahabiel herself, having approached Octang under a Force vision, was no Celestial but an old Jedi spirit who remained to watch over the world, and furthermore, ancestor. She had fought against the Celestial only known as The Primal and beaten it back to the dyson sphere of hell, but it would only be a matter of time before the delusional Celestial would make his return.

Armed with this new knowledge and with little time to bring about a more advanced army to the planet, it all relied on the Legions of footmen and fighters, both normal and ‘Blessed’, to hold back the tide. Once in the world’s history a Demonic Incursion had been fought in an Age of Strife, and it would be now that the final battle would dawn upon them all. Everything in the man’s past- From becoming soldier to warrior, to then operator, required every fiber of his being to not only slay through the hordes of Sithspawn and other denizens of a hellish landscape, but the Celestial itself. Nearly did he lose his life to slay the ancient terror, but this time the deed would be accomplished fully with the frozen blade of an ancient Zhell warlord. Farath, and perhaps the better part of the galaxy, saved from the catastrophe of catastrophes.

Having been offered the throne of the Lahabiel Dominion and a life of opulence and rule, Octang declined. It would not be his right to rule over a people he barely knew, nor would he take the opportunity to finally settle down either. He was still Director. He still had duties to perform, although after everything… He may take a more behind the scenes role. No more being in the foreground, which not only terrified the aging war veteran, but also was needed. Especially if Dark Ops would carry on.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Departure, 30 ATC

Upon his return to known civilized space, Octang officially cut all ties with the Republic Command Initiative. His whereabouts and activities had been unknown to anyone outside the newly formed Project Zircon, subsequently leading to the formation of Task Force Silver- Where both Dark Ops and the newly monikered Stellar Wolverines worked tirelessly hand in hand in the galaxies newest problems, whether it be abomination or just the devious common man. Eventually word had spread about some mention of a new contingency by the identifier, ‘Agate’, yet nothing came of it.

His presence dwindled drastically to the point that while the Director was still around, eventually at some point Dark Operators not within the know never had realized he’d blended completely with the shadows of history. The legacy left for Dark Ops would be long and prosperous, and coinciding with the ideals of an idealled and strong Galactic Republic no longer corrupted with the venomous officials plaguing the Senate Chambers as it once had for a time.

Where would he be now? No one really knew. Perhaps he’s shown up time and again for a short period of time taking in the galaxy, or he simply just… Vanished. But like most anyone who thought of the wrong questions when they naturally grew curious, it wasn’t a matter of location. For whoever considered when the Republic’s Finest would reemerge to the galaxy that had forgotten its warriors like time itself…

  • Traits
    Dark Ops Divider, Grey
    Personality
    Keep It Simple
After having lived a majority of his life full of discipline and combat, Octang finds the simplicities of the warzone. On the battlefield, he’s capable of coming up with solutions to obstacles, and in some cases, that puts question to his sanity along the way. If he’s ever been a hard case, it’s only when someone’s pushed the button far enough to bring that side of him into play. His time from fighting in the 53rd ‘Rolling Fists’ Assault Battalion, to then leading the 72nd ‘Coruscant Wolverines’ Division had done well enough to make the planning process more simple than it needed to be.

    Bottom's Up
The man knows his drink, and almost a little too well. Due to his augmentations, and that of his liver capable of filtering even the deadliest of poisons, it has an excellent degree of filtration through alcohol to a certain degree. Thanks to the added benefit, Octang tends to be the alcoholic without the nasty side effects that is known to afflict many in the galaxy. Additionally, the added benefit of knowing when to wind down after a long day and relax, at least in most cases where he’d might allow himself the luxury.

    Hard Headed
While in service to the Republic Army, there’s bound to be a hit to the head gained for one’s efforts. Octang himself has earned more than several, and yet still finds a way to soldier on most times. While that would be beneficial in some aspects, it goes completely unrelated to his own stubbornness gained through the years. Seeing things his way in the battlefield comes rarely, but to him with good reason if he believes it’s necessary. This could come to the conflict of battle planning to general theory and conversation, if it comes to such a point.

Despite having a hard head, the man also shows an extreme mental barrier around his mind. Perhaps a strange anomaly of the Force, yet so much so that it was almost a blessing with what felt like an insurmountable fortress compared to most techniques or abilities present to known-knowledge. Of course while having some affliction to the use of Force effects, overall Octang could be well immune to mind altering abilities outright, and most of all is very aware of that fact.

    Anti-Political
Having come from an early life of being raised by a politician, and subsequently forced into education to follow in this pursuit of politics like those before him in his bloodline, Octang has found a distaste for the subject. That isn’t to say he doesn’t understand the usual practices, but he isn’t blind to the cloaked daggers that are present behind the scenes where most might not suspect or be paranoid to. Especially when it mixes into his own matters of war, as corruption had been commonplace in his time. It doesn’t take much for him to grow annoyed, if not angered to the presence of political intentions in where he believes it doesn’t belong.

    Education
    Hand Cannon Expertise
Throughout the service to the Republic in the Third Galactic War, Octang’s chosen piece of weaponry has revolved from from few weapons platforms, but has finally rested to the tried and true hand cannons prominent throughout the war. Giving not only the power and punch needed for a battlefield full of armored foes, it allowed one hand to be free to wield another weapon into battle, which usually happened to be either his relic blade or plasma axe, whichever of the two needed in that particular moment. While he prefers his own charric heavy hand cannon, he’s capable and deadly with sidearm-like weaponry, but prefers the weight and recoil that these powerful weapons provide in operations.

    Martial Warrior Experience
When fighting a war against Sith Lords, Imperial Marines and even Sithspawn hordes, sometimes it was better instead of a soldier to face them as a warrior should. While not Octang’s original intention, before long the 72nd Division slowly turned into a martial unit of the Republic Army that became well known for their unorthodox tactics and mantras of glory and honor in combat. Recognized more akin to warriors than soldiers, the Wolverines would be known as shock troopers that struck and awe, and mostly thanks to the martial training imposed by their founding commander. In the long run, the experience has brought about a new perspective in the art of war, and the waging of battle even if Octang eventually took on a new role within Dark Ops later into his years.

    Go Against the Odds
Octang, going from NCO of the 53rd ‘Fighting Fists’ Assault Battalion, to commander of the 72nd Coruscant Wolverines Division while being an auxiliary to Kill Team Victory, to now taking the mantle of Dark Ops Director, has always followed one rule: Go against the odds. In most cases this has done more good than idleness or retreating back in delaying the inevitable fight, but in some others this has the tendency to backfire in disastrous ways. Nothing ventured is nothing gained, and that goes both ways.

    Lifestyle
    Old Republic War Hero
Serving in the Galactic Wars that sprung after the Sacking of Coruscant nearly three millenium ago, Octang has fought and survived the bloodiest conflicts from one to the next. Having started out in the Republic Army after fleeing his fate of becoming a politician, the young man had become a living legend in the latter parts of the war raging through the galaxy. Having come from the venerated 53rd ‘Rolling Fists’ as a perpetual staff sergeant, he had quickly found himself becoming an officer to the newly found 72nd Coruscant Wolverines under the Republic Command Initiative, and subsequently became a Dark Operator.

While his role in Dark Ops had been kept a secret from the major public, his deeds and actions rang throughout the galaxy to those that recognized the alias for the man that abandoned his familial name the moment he signed himself into the war. However not all actions were met with respect, one record of which having been lost in a fit of rage induced by a fault in his augmentation to the point of dismembering an Imperial officer’s arm after they had subsequently surrendered after a bloody battle. Whether he still lives with the shame or pride of his actions remains to be seen, especially after having been so long from the wars he had fought for each next day in so long ago.

    Trooper unto Death
There was no denying this. Any great warrior was never known to be comfortable when there was no war to fight. Once you had gone through the thick of the mud and blood like Octang has, there was no going back to living a cushy life outside of conflict. And when it was made to be all that he knew and nothing more, it really makes a transition to ‘civilian’ life all that more unbearable to think about. He may be fine with little conflict for a time, but it won’t be long before he’s flinging himself back into the fray, these days from the shadows in Dark Ops.

    Appearance - Physical

    Physical
At a remarkable five foot and nine inches in height, Octang is the peak physical condition any warfighter could dream of. His brown hair ranges from either sticking up in a controlled manner, or when in extended field operations, to longer carefree lengths with everything in between these conditions. Facial hair happened to be similar in behavior, a clean goatee when able to afford the luxury or growing to a full beard when out wherever the war effort requires him to be. Facial scarring from incomplete gene therapy treatments or minor marks of battle covers the entirety of his body, the worst among them not only the vertical saber slash of a saber over his right eye, but the partially treated scars left behind by some tendril-like application along his back, and each ligament save for his right hand- Replaced by a cybernetic augmentation. Despite reaching the middle age of his biological life, he still retains the well toned and muscled body of a warrior, still able to perform with nearly surprising degrees of dexterity and agility along with the natural strength that came with these benefits.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Appearance - Protean

    Protean
Dark Ops issues armor comes in a variety of models and functions. Most however were not like the mythical MK IV of the Old Republic era, originally intended to be used by the founding Director until being passed down to his successor. It combined the strengths of both the MK I Stealth suit of the Aurek Generation and the MK III Heavy armor of the Besh Generation of Dark Ops armor configurations. The neoprene undersuit however remains standard issue, able to protect the wearer from most blaster impacts and acts as a bodyglove to encase the operator from optical identification. It is able to keep liquids from entering the suit, and also capable of preventing harmful elements whether natural or otherwise, and is suitably rated for combat operations within Zero-G environments.

The MK IV armor utilized different parts of armor, not only durable for extended combat operations but also fielding a unique stealth suite. While the plating across the system itself is able to be configured to carry a variety of mission loadouts, the armor itself limits little to no extra plating customization nor modularity due to its unique custom-function nature. Despite this, it fits to the silhouette of the wearer and is weighter for peak performance without any extra weight added to the operator. The bucket is fully enclosed, resembling more of some unique design based off of Mandalorian armor, with a dedicated command module fixated onto the right hand side. The transparisteel visor itself can be altered between two externally visual modes- opaque or glow in a perpetually haunting blue light with automatic modulation control for light signature.

While in the familiar shape of most signature Dark Ops armor silhouettes, the MK IV Protean set differed from a matte black finish to a light gunmetal steel polish, save for the boots which happened to be a shade brighter to white. Unlike other Kill Teams using unit identifiers, this set bore no such thing- Not beyond the letters ‘KTV’ scratched into the left shoulder armoring, and the name ‘Akeldama’ engraved into the top left hand side of the chestplate. Nothing about this armor screamed ‘normal’ Dark Operator.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Appearance - Alpha

    Alpha
In a time before Dark Ops became his calling, Octang was once The Alpha among the Coruscant Wolverines, an elite shock unit of the Old Republic. Forged in by otherworldly metals by the Mad Genius of Korinth, this armor has survived the harshest the war could ever dish out. No undersuit usually came standard to this system, by one of its own unique functions, but when used it would be any other kind of widely available bodyglove that did the job well enough. It protects from blaster impacts to a certain extent, keeps fluids out from the body, but is not capable of encapsulating the body from external air and is heavily discouraged from Zero-G combat scenarios.

The armor system was minimal in the extent that came to armor configuration, designed primarily for protection in the chaos that can be the warzone, and even intended for use in close quarters and melee combat. With Sith everywhere you turned, the armor even holds a rating to withstand lightsaber strikes and the melting points that most metals buckled under before long. For defense against shrapnel and ballistic weapons, a lining of ballistic cushioning weaves underneath the armor for when a gap is found in the armor, and also provides extra defense against heavy kinetic impact. The kama that attaches with the armor is also capable of the same defense, albeit thicker to also provide protection against blaster fire and to some extent lightsaber strikes. Its final function, unique to this armor due to the old Korinthian sciences, is its ability to be manipulated by metallic magnets capable of communication on specific frequencies. If the warrior desired his armor to be donned, and was close enough with the required bracelet to order the command, then the individual armor pieces would ‘fly’ into place on the warrior until a full set of Korinthian plate is formed.

The Wolverines were not only known for their aggressive glory in the field of battle, but also for their unique color scheme, ‘Honor Grey’ and ‘Glory Yellow’, as well as other decorative and status signifying colors that ranged wildly in the ranks in shape and form. Unlike most however, the Korinthian Alpha armor bore no special identifiers and markings, the only significance being the yellow coating being more prominent than the grey. It was enough to signify the leader of the pack within the battle. But as like in the old days, no one who wore these colors was an easy challenge.

  • Augmentations

    Augmentations
Late into his service to the Republic, Octang was subjected to a highly experimental cybernetic procedure performed by a vagabond Chiss scientist pursuing the answer to immortality, and further more, resurrection from beyond the grave. While her pursuit never led to the results she ever wished for, her knowledge has been utilized to the greatest efforts in implanting her nanotechnology into the one and only experiment she would ever perform of this magnitude. After countless days of incisions and surgery, the end result had not only left a mark on the trooper, but had turned him into a super soldier. Throughout the years of the war, more enhancements and replacement limbs would be made to not only heal the wounds the war left on Octang, but to further his lethal capacity while retaining his humanity to keep from falling into the craze of becoming a literal war machine.
    Dark Ops Divider, Grey
    Augmentations - The Bane
    The Bane
Nanotech augmentation spreads throughout the skeletal structure of the subject's body. From nose to toes, there isn't any part of him that hasn't had a piece of bone drilled or cut into to imbed the technology that would provide him with the benefits of increased strength and endurance at feats beyond normal capable means. Autoinjectors and chemical producers lining other portions of his body ensure adaptable survivability, ranging from clotting arteries to pushing antitoxins throughout the body at the detection of harmful elements injected into his body. Downsides have arisen with outside adjustment, leading to the removal of inhibitor chips that led to a gradual increase of aggression levels until the point of either death in suicidal missions or, quite literally, reaching a climax of tearing himself apart from the rage. Replacements have subsided the effects, but in rare cases this aggression rises like a phantom memory when emotions ring too high in a battle, albeit still manageable when it does arise.

Long term effects on surviving death after death has impacted Octang's mental state in subtle ways, having negative affects in certain moments of his past but has overcome them to lead to a stronger barrier to breaking compared to who normally would be under these sorts of restraints. Additionally, the augments are capable of remote control functions. When one is without the access to bypass the intense security checks, they would also need to acquire the very specific equipment capable of manipulating these nodes seamlessly.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Augmentations - The Boon

    The Boon
At one point in the war, his battle would be taken to Gelda where on a nearby world, he would be defeated in battle and subsequently captured by Imperial forces. Torture led to the involuntary removal of both eyes, and after enduring the difficulties of being blinded and removed from the war effort, the Chiss doctor was able to craft and implant these cybernetic eyes into the empty sockets.

Visible only to him, a unique HUD element is displayed within his view that is capable of mental manipulation with little to no effort once accustomed to the function, and overcoming the jarring effect. Aside from the regular vision that is afforded to him through the optics, other visual filters include night visions, infrared and an enhanced x-ray suite capable of piercing the densest of materials in the galaxy. Alternate functions include chemical dispersal within his body, configurable warning signals that can range from subliminal to intrusive, and even the changing of the external iris color. Currently, they are a warm brown.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Augmentations - The Breaker

    The Breaker
While in the Battle of Dubrillion, a major counter offensive had been waged by Octang and his Wolverines in a last ditch effort to hold back Imperial forces from hounding on the retreating Republic from the planet. This ended in a massive defeat and leaving the General severely weakened both in body and augmentation. When ambushed by the Sith Lord Veritrix, she was able to claim his right hand with some of the wrist attached, and nearly his life before an orbital bombardment was able to disrupt the would-be final blow.

The replacement had actually been from a company specializing in cybernetic augments specializing in warcraft before it would inevitably be brought forth to the same scientist, who would implant the Korinthian-made ligament onto her disfigured experiment. The augment in question happened to be a Repulse hand, a partially skeletonized limb with a construction made to be more durable than it's wielder, and able to withstand the melting point that lightsabers put to most metals in the galaxy. Inside the palm behind the psuedo-muscles, miniature gravity generators can be deployed forward and are capable of deploying masses of energy strong enough to crack the toughest of armors, break the strongest of walls and the imagination can only wander what it can do to anything softer than either of the two.

However, this comes at a loss to sense of touch to keep the operator from overblowing his nerves with an extreme pain that would come like no other had any synthskin had been attached to the limb. Only muscle replicators were enough that was needed for the man to realize what his new limb of war would be in relation to the galaxy and the rest of his body.
