Description:
The OBL-2 Drone is a simple droid designed in a similar manner to its cousin the OBL-1 by Astraeus Industrial.
The Drone itself like its cousin is rather simplistic in design, though unlike its cousin the OBL-2 is neither spherical, nor armed with any weapons. This design choice meant that the OBL-2 is much faster and much more ruggedly designed than its more heavily armed cousin, allowing for extra space for its single shield generator and additional armoring to its front facing design.
The Drones do not have any sort of Artificial Intelligence, rather they hold to programming directives created by Astraeus Industrial. These directives are rather simple, enough to tell friend from foe, change objectives, and assess a situation as needed.
This means that the OBL-2's, like their cousins, are fairly...dumb, for lack of a better term, though it should be noted that they do not need to be intelligent.
The purpose of the OBL-2 is to act as a complement to troops or their OBL-1 Cousins. The OBL-2 Functions as a mobile shield generator. It arrives on scene, creates a radial deflector and particle shield within a five meter area, then sit there and absorbs damage. If more OBL-2's are present the larger and more powerful the shield can become. It should be noted that even with hundreds of OBL-2's present the shield they can create could never reach the strength of a planetary shield or anything of the sort. The OBL-2's are designed against small arms and light vehicle fire, with their shield being able to block at most a light turbo-laser shot when three of them are together.
