SPECIAL FEATURES
- Can be customised heavily: While it is delivered as a standard sidearm primarily aimed at large militaries and security firms, there is a lot of wiggle room in terms of extended holders for gas cannisters and powercells, better scopes, an attached stock with or without additional forward grip and more. Through the Mobius Premium Goods division of the corporation there is even the opportunity to fully customise the gun on demand beyond even the standard modifications.
- Tested in all manner of conditions: Because of the extensive testing, the use of lightweight materials with extensive durability testing, this handgun performs equally in any environment, be it in space, on land or even underwater.
- Multiple firing modes: There is a couple of switches at the back end of the gun which can be toggled to lower or heighten the intensity of the blasts and to switch between single shot or full auto, rapid fire.
- Reliable: The sturdy design and material choice have allowed for this weapon to be extremely durable and reliable, making it a very decent weapon in practically any situation. There's also the fact that it is known to be virtually impossible to misfire or jam (though this technically can still happen, the chances of it occuring are quite ridiculously small)
- Extremely versatile: With a variety of modi to choose from and a whole lot of settings to play with, the NZ BP-57/MH is capable of meeting the demand of its user in any situation, with intuitively placed switches at the butt of the gun, changing these settings can be done within mere moments.
- Relatively compact: For a gun with so many functions and extras installed in its base design, the endresult is a relatively compact, lightweight handgun that is much easier to draw and holster than other contemporate handguns in its class.
- Mediocre stopping power: While the intensity of the handguns blasts can be heightened and thus improved, at best this would put the strength of the blasts on par with the strength of a mediocre, average blaster rifle, while it's standard stopping power is considerably less so and would have a hard time denting heavy plated armors.
- EMP/ION: While it has relatively little electrical parts, those that it does have may be affected by EMP/ION, such as the setting switches, which may end up being unresponsive and the LCD screen which will not be functional, thus making it harder to know for sure when you are running out of ammo.
Meant as a replacement for the NZ-BG.400 Tactical Blaster Pistol and engineered to be as tough and rugged as possible, the NZ BP-57/MH also known as the Marter or the Marter Handgun started its life as just one of many drawings on papers and sketches and doodles on the back of files littering the EnSol designer studios. However, when there was word of the N&Z starting a drive to expand its ranged weapons range and replace some of its more old and perhaps even obsolete models, the raw design of the BP-57 emerged as one of the contenders. Four separate projects were started for the sake of designing and engineering a new handgun. Where most seemed to focus on sheer power or robustness, the team behind the BP-57 focused on versatility, reliability and practicality. As time passed on, more and more projects began to enter the fray, but at a similarly rapid pace, more seemed to drop out due to either issues which could not be solved or the budget/design ballooning out of proportion.
Eventually, there were two solid designs left, two projects vying for a spot in the company's line up. ofcourse, the NZ BP-57 took this spot, as it had the advantage of being designed around the aforementioned key principles.
Versatility: It was designed to at first be a simple, no-nonsense handgun, but with the project's acceleration and attention, engineers began to create modifications, add-ons and such which could effectively transform the handgun into various shapes, sizes and thus give it various options and uses, allowing it to be extremely versatile.
Reliability: Tested in a whole host of environments from the sweltering heat of Mustafar, the scorching sands of Tatooine and the wild waters of Mon Cala, the BP-57 was tested in every imaginable environment just to guarantee the best possible reliability for any handgun to possibly have.
Practicality: With everything, including its versatility and reliability designed and engineered to be functional, it was a no-brainer that the weapon would turn out to be insanely practical in use, transport and storage.
