The basilisk war droid known as Nuhaatyc is a rather unusual sight within the Mandalorian ranks, due to the more unique design than that of typical bes'uliik. Being more focused on speed, agility and stealth, Nuhaatyc is lean and long, rather than bulky and large. Where masses of armament are usual, Nuhaatyc instead has advanced sensors, fewer weapons and high capabilities in tracking and using stealth. Particularly the optical shield and reflec coating, which assists in evasion of many types of military and civilian sensors. With the addition of an internal Ysalamiri cage, which holds one lizard, there is a Force negated bubble around the basilisk.
Despite less overall armament than other basilisk droids, Nuhaatyc has a range of varying weapon types for use in a variety of situations. Laser cannons, pulse cannons, launchers and even a shatter beam, it is able to adapt to many situations. Due to the nature of droids and electronics, Nuhaatyc has been fitted with a layer of pyronium to better resist and protect against EMP/Ion effects. Also unlike most basilisk droids, Nuhaatyc lacks the design or components for effective flight or combat; due to the frame it has, there are significant limitations on engine and aerodynamic applications, resulting in a less than ideal flight mode. Nuhaatyc is clearly made for ground work.
The semi-sentient droid brain allows Nuhaatyc to adapt and learn from experience, while also being able to utilize less orthodox methods than other droids that rely solely on programming. It is also subservient to Dayr Varad, who it considers its 'master', and has become something of a cherished companion for the Mandalorian. Both are able to work in conjunction well, with Nuhaatyc adapted specifically to Dayr's mannerisms and decision making tenancies - which can often result in highly synchronized teamwork and combat effectiveness between the pair.
