She nodded a little. Of course she was afraid. No one in their right mind wouldn't be. Escaping from the Cartel when caught wasn't an easy thing to do. It was a lot tougher than she had originally thought, but that was only because the Cartel was increasing in size and strength day by day.

"Thank you. As you can imagine, I don't like surprises either. They are never good surprises." She continued to eat the chowder, finishing it off in silence as she worked on how to get out of this. At least they were going to Bakura. Maybe. There was no indication that the ship was changing course at all. Somewhere, an idea will present itself.

He wasn't sure what to say so he just sat for a moment, Enjoying his meal in silence, before finally having an idea that he hoped would break the tensions.... "Do you like the food? I I cooked it myself." He really did hope she liked the food, And as he awaited her response he lifted his sleeve and typed a code into the bracer around his wrist. The code being transmitted to ScrapHeap in the cockpit telling her to make a course for Bakura, A moment later the ship turned on its way to its new destination.

Kay set aside the empty bowl. The steak she was still working on. It was a bigger piece than she was used to having. She closed her eyes for a moment as she could feel the ship changing direction. Wonderful news. That put her at ease a little. She opened her eyes and nodded to [member="Kaster Sane"]. "Yes, it's lovely thank you. Do you...always give your bounties good meals such as this before you hand them over? Or am I just the lucky one?"

He chuckled a bit at her qustion before taking a swig of his Brandy and answering her honestly. "Well to be honest no I don't....but they are all normally murderous cutthroats.....and your also my first ever bounty....Which by the way, I never once said I was turning you in....Merely hinted I might"

She smirked at [member="Kaster Sane"] and his response. Maybe most bounties were on cutthroats, but there were some on heroes as well. "Hinted? What kind of game are you playing at? I'm not just some toy you know..."

He didn't know why he'd said she was his first bounty when what he'd meant to say was that she was his first FEMALE bounty, His mind clouded from her beauty. "You must forgive me it has been a long day and I'm not used to having female company on board...Especially one so lovely" It had been a long day, He could feel it wearing on him as he let slip a soft yawn.

Ah. So that was his game. She leaned back in her chair a bit. "Ah, well, I guess it has been. So where will I be sleeping on this little....trip?" Kay had places to go and things to do. But she's gone missing before and no one did anything.

He hadn't really given that much thought , and the woman wasn't exactly his prisoner, But he also couldn't have her running amuck aboard his ship. His thoughts compiling for a moment before he spoke up... "Well since I doubt I can trust you on board and unsupervised you have two options as I see it...you can spend your night in one of the force cage cells, Or you can sleep with me in my locked cabin.....I'll even allow you the bed and I'll take the couch."

"You mean that you don't have any guest rooms other than a cell on this bucket of bolts?" She hated cages and what they represented. Yet until they were on Bakura, the entire ship was a cage. But [member="Kaster Sane"] was trapped in it too. "Alright....Since you are being a gentleman, I'll take your bed while you get the couch." She stressed out that last part.

"This bucket of bolts got our asses off that station, And is working on getting you to Bakura......Show don't go disrespecting her....Hate me if you wish but don't take it out on the ship... " Her words actually getting to him a bit, He was a proud man, A man truly proud of his ship..

Well that was unexpected. She raised her hands up in a bit of a defeated gesture, but one that also was meant to calm him down. "Alright, I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything by it." She lowered her hands and folded them onto her satchel which was still on her lap. "This is a tough situation for me. I don't do very well with being trapped. Call it a bit of claustrophobia, if you will..."

" I'm sorry for my outburst....She's just very sensitive ya know? " Of course he was referring to his ship, She was a tough ship and had gotten him out of trouble and saved his life more times than he could count... "Im just very protective of her......and technically your not trapped here, You could get off anytime you like.....but I'd suggest holding your breath.. " He let a small chuckle as he joked with her.

Yes, the ship was sensitive. The last thing that Kay wanted was to have it fail them on any point of their journey.

At [member="Kaster Sane"] 's little joke she smirked. "Ha ha ha..very funny." Okay so he had a bit of a sense of humour. Not a bad thing. But still. He had threatened to kill her and/or shoot her if she ran off. Plus he was still going to try to claim her bounty. "You know...you don't have to bring me to the White Palace at all. You could work for me instead, be my bodyguard and pilot. What do you think?"

He smiled a bit as he listened to her plea... He'd heard all this before from other targets, First they try to run and when that doesn't work they beg, And when that fails.....they try to make better offers. Kaster had always found this to be funny, even using it to further torture some of his captives. This time however he was genuinely curious as to why she'd want him and his "Bucket of bolts" under her employ..... "A moment ago my ship wasn't good enough to save you and now you want it to fly you around??

"I didn't say that she wasn't good enough. I only thought that since it seems as though you had been planning this for a while, that you'd of had a proper guest room prepared instead of either a cage or your quarters..." She chewed the inside of her cheek a bit. "That's what I would have done."

But everyone wasn't like Kay. A simple diplomatic mission has now become a bit of a nightmare. But at least she was heading somewhere safe and somewhere that she can call for help. "You know the Republic will discover that something has happened to me. Especially if I don't report back."

He let out another yawn as he leaned back into his chair and watched her eat. His thoughts wandering as he calculated the his plan if the Republic should come looking. He was getting sleepy as he thought about what his lovely guest was saying. "I don't much worry about the great Republic dear.....but you should seeing as how if they spot my ship they'll shoot first and ask later.. And I'm beginning to get sleepy...Shall we retire to our quarters?

They would shoot first and ask questions later? But he wasn't a Sith. The Black Flag order was just for the Sith. Wasn't it?

The mention of [member="Kaster Sane"] 's quarters being referred to as belonging to the both of them brought her out of her thoughts on the Republic. Kay got to her feet, holding onto her satchel with one hand. She wasn't sure if she could sleep right away, given that she was knocked out on her way to the ship. But maybe she'd just meditate. "After you..."

With a nod and a smile to his guest, Kaster would stand from the table and follow her back to their quarters for the night. Once inside he would grab a pillow and one of the extra blankets and start to fix the ciuch, Making it suitable for sleeping before flopping onto it hoping he could get comfortable enough to sleep.

As he lay there, His thoughts racing, He turned to his guest and spoke, his tone almost sad.... "You'll be happy to know that during dinner I got word that the Cartel has broken up and I can no longer collect your bounty......Once we reach Bakura you'll finally be rid of spacer trash like me Kay" It'd been along time since the scent of a woman had filled his ship....He'd miss it.

Kay put her satchel down next to the bed so that it was within reach. She then slid in under the covers and lay on her back. It had been a while since she had slept in a bed, for she didn't have a place of her own. As [member="Kaster Sane"] spoke, what he had to say shocked her. "The Cartel is broken?.." Was this some kind of trick? To his last comment she turned her head towards him. "Spacer trash? I never called you that. You've been kind. Don't sell yourself short, Kaster."

"Yes the Cartel has fallen and I am once again alone in the galaxy..." Sorrow ran deep in his voice as he spoke. His gaze finally turning to her, A smirk crossing his lips as he spoke.... "Don't patronize me Kay, I'm just as force sensitive as you and I can feel your animosity towards me surrounding you.....I'm just another thug looking to terrorize the galaxy in your eyes, No matter how nice I try to be, I'll always be just a thug to you"
