Not the First Time Around the Block

"So hunters team up often? Also what if somebody just decided to hunt from the list, but didn't sign up?"

Kerx smiled at Ra's comment on the disarming and she was glad he got the joke. He picked up the saber she offered and like somebody that wasn't familiar with how hers worked held it in both hands.

Her sabers were small and when ignited, the blade was shorter. Only a little longer than the knives she used to carry around. They were just as dangerous as a full sized one though.

"Yes, there are crystals in there. They are what gives the blades their color and quite often signify a role played or calling to alignment. Mine were gifted to me when I made the sabers. So I didn't have to search for them. However, one of the main locations for them is Ilum."

Taking her second out, she held the hilt in her hand and demonstrated how she held them. It would appear backwards and up her arm instead of outward like he was holding it.

Kerx heard Ra's question and thought about it. It indeed was a very good question regarding bounties, but The Whispering Death has not encountered this situation before. Usually all the other hunters respected each other when it came to bounties so there usually wasn't any sort of trouble with that. At least to him.

" Ya, usually hunters team up often especially if it requires manpower to take someone down. But on that question, my answer is I am not sure. I have not really had witnessed anyone doing that. I would assume the other hunters get a bit irritated and probably kill 'em or something. "

Kerx the heard Ra's comment of the crystals inside of the legendary sabers. He heard the planet Ilum and was a bit confused, as he had never heard of such a place. It must be under the radar or something. Then he saw the woman taking out her second lightsaber. She held it differently then him. She instructed Kerx on how she held her weapons. Kerx realized they were in a sort of reverse grip.

This was very interesting. Usually he had seen aliens and humanoids alike wield their hand held weapons with the traditional grip. But seeing this Kerx was pretty astonished that a weapon like that of a Jedi or Sith can have different changes to them to fit the user to their liking.

With her free hand, Ra got a thoughtful look on her face and rubbed her chin slightly. It would be obvious she was thinking somebody, but had yet to get the words to give voice to them.

"So if I wanted to be a hunter, I could team up with say you, run with you and learn the trade? They wouldn't educate the odd potential hunter? What if they weren't aware of the need to sign up or whatever?"

The last part might be clutching at straws, but if the situation ever came up, it would be better to see if the odd hunter even knew the rules.

"My sabers are shorter than regular ones and fit well with how I fight. I also have two boot knives to use if I wanted to."

Since she had gotten her sabers though, she hadn't needed to use them.

" Ya, you could team up with me and get some hunts down with me so you can learn the ropes. Normally new rookies are the ones to die first because they either never received training or said something to the wrong person. If someone was not aware of the need to sign up, that's their mistake. Usually if I see a bounty up I really need to do, then I check with everyone and everything in case I am getting a feeling if someone already took the bounty. "

Ra mentioned what weapons she used to Kerx. Damn, she is really a character. He thought. She was very extraordinary to the hunter's eyes. She was remarkable in combat and her good questions. She was smart and cunning. Kerx liked that. He also caught her looks. She was beautiful. She reminded him of a childhood crush he had in his child years on Concord. But as a kid Kerx almost never talked to anyone, only Dane and a few other people.

"As I've heard the saying before, I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night. Sure, I'd be a rookie to hunting, but I catch on quick and besides if I stuck my neck out to do something stupid, you'd be there to stop me."

After he spoke, Ra got the feeling he was looking at her in a different light. What that reason was eluded her, but wondered if it was because of all the weapons she carried.

When she finished speaking, she gave Kerx a wink at her words and a small smile.

" That is true. Plus everyone would not really dare crossing me because I am pretty well known in the Galaxy. "

He saw Ra give a wink and a smile. Kerx smiled back. He had realized he still had his mask off, so he put it back on. He wasn't going to consume anything else so he thought it would not hurt. He slipped on the white mask and looked to Ra once more. He was still smiling underneath.

" Anyhow, if you ever want to take part in hunting, here is how you can find me. "

He gave Ra his information and he stood up. He was wondering how long had passed. He did not want to take up any more time and needed to get back into the swing of things. But he was also very eager to meet her again.

Now he gave his regards to Ra....

@Ra'a'mah

"Ah so you're famous then?"

Ra raised her eyebrows as she asked this and noticed his smile back. When he moved to put his mask back on, she knew he was calling it a night. Not paying attention to the time, she realized it was getting pretty late and would just spend the night here.

She saw his was still smiling when he put the mask on and gave her his contact information. Standing up when he did, she held her hand out to shake and gave him another smile. It was warmer than her previous ones and actually was quite friendly.

"Here let me walk you out and I'll contact you when I've made a decision. Even if my path doesn't lead to being a hunter, I'd like the chance to meet again."

Lowering the ramp of her ship she bid Kerx good night with the promise of getting in touch with him again.
