Not The Best of Trips

Desi's pewter grey eyes narrowed on him, though the left one didn't really... Focus on him. He was bluffing. She didn't think he could take her on and win, at least not at this moment. Were they at better odds, that might be a different story. But for now, she was sure she could do this. She had to. She'd be the laughing stock of the village if she didn't. Her hand didn't leave the whip as she stared up at him with unwavering eyes. "I have no connection to those people. Just because a two groups ally together does not mean everyone agrees with it. The Dreaming River clan does not need those brutes, we are powerful enough on our own." Her words were as icy as her glare.

Without a second thought, she simultaneously lashed out with her whip, grasping one of his wrists with it. Her free had reached up to his face that was so near, dragging her long, almost pointed nails across his scruffy cheek. She liked the way the action made his hair pull under her finger tips. "That being said, I cannot let you leave. Not now." A Cheshire grin pulled at her thin face, making her look more frightening than delicate. She searched his attractive amber eyes, a light laugh playing across her lips. "You have to stay with me for awhile, hmm?" Kama reappeared from the trees as her words lingered on the thick air.

The primal desires of every sentient being were no different to Graxin than they were for normal folk. He could ignore them though, as he chose to now. His hand tugged at the whip, and oonly succeeded in gripping his skin tighter and sending a shock of pain up his arm.

No, no. Kark.

He shifted his gaze up toward the sky as her sharp nails raked across his cheek. She aimed to enslave him then, just as the Graug did. Just as Krag had when he was oh-so-young. The panic welled up in his chest and made his neck break out into a sweat. Sure, the woman was, well, a woman, but he had other things that transcended bodily wants. "If I stay, people will die." He stated sternly. The panic was a bit evident in the way his voice wobbled, but his confidence remained. His gaze drifted down to meet hers, and his brow knit in deep thought. "And I don't know your name."

She grinned as he struggled with her thorn whip. Who knew those little barbs would come in handy? She let out a light laugh, reveling in the look on his face. This was exciting to the tiny witch. Her first slave. Boy, would her mother be proud. Watching him closely, Desi took in his reaction. It looked as if he was... Scared. She liked that, but at the same time... Something inside her wanted to quiet that fear, let him know that being hers wasn't actually a bad thing. She had no interest in harming him, she wasn't one to harm others. That's why she was the perfect rancor trainer. Her body flowed with too many bright intentions and light-hearted whims.

"You will die if you try to leave, unfortunately." She murmured, honestly upset by that thought. "Kama informed the others of your existence. I cannot let you leave. Not yet anyways. They will hunt you down. And a Witch always finds her prey." She gave him a look of pity and regret. Blinking for a moment, she moved her hand from his face, "Desideria." She refused to give him any more information about herself. Desi dare not give him anything he could use to hurt her or her clan.

"Or, you could let me go and they would never see me again." Graxin mumbled quietly. The thorns dug into his skin and drew blood from his arm. Graxin stared down at the slip of a woman and scowled. The fear was replaced with outrage. How dare she try and shackle him. How dare she try to enslave him?! "Let me go." The Apprentice growled. Ah, yes, a lightsaber would have certainly been nice right now. He considered the idea of lighting the girl aflame right then and there, but then there was the rancor to deal with. Why did things have to be so difficult.

He shook his head and let out an exasperated sigh. She had clearly stated he couldn't leave yet. Perhaps she wanted something from him. He forced the anger to simmer down for the moment, and lowered his voice to a harsh whisper. "then what do I have to do to go?"

His sudden change in attitude upset Desideria, killing what little playful mood she had. If he wanted to come into her territory and not expect to have consequences, that was his own damn fault. She'd never been off-world, but everyone knew that their home planet was known for their matriarchy. He had to have known what he was possibly going to run into, so he had no right to be angry. "I've claimed you. That's what we do here. If you don't like it, you never should have brought your rude self and junk ship here. I have no doubt you knew exactly what this planet's inhabitants are known for. So, suck it up, or Kama will be having man-flesh for dinner." Her pewter eyes turned almost silver with her anger, hardening like stone and her normally high-pitched voice dropped to something sinister.

She turned her eyes to Kama, speaking with the animal. With a huff, she unwillingly let her eyes glide back to the man. "You will do as I say until I've decided you have learned enough humility and respect for women and cultures you do not know." She reach up, grasping his collar tight in her little fist. "You do not come to someone else's home and act all high and mighty, as if you are more powerful and more all-knowing than those who were born and raised here. That'll get you murdered in cold blood, little man." She looked so sincere and deadpan with her words, truly offended by the cretin. He needed a serious lesson in manners and she'd be the one to give it to him.

Graxin had a few choice words for the Witch that he would save for later. He stared daggers down at her for a very long, very uncomfortable moment. He didn't have time for this game. He had what he needed, and Dathomir should have been a memory to him by now, nothing more. he shouldn't still be here. The Apprentice fought back the very strong desire to curse, and sighed.

To put things simply, and a bit in perspective, he now knew what his father meant when he said that his rage could blot out the brightest of suns. Of course, Graxin was nowhere near that angry, just annoyed, and considering slitting the girl's throat once she'd dragged him off to wherever they were going to go.

No, no, he had a better idea. He would play along, for now, and when the odds were in his favor Desideria would see why she shouldn't cross him. He really didn't want to resort to murdering her, or dealing with the Rancor.

"Apologies." he began, bowing his head slightly forward. The motion made his stomach feel sick. "I am not used to your people, my dear. What would you have me do?" There was no hint of deceit in his voice. Graxin had been his father's top agent before he began training with the Sith. Lying to get what he needed was nothing new to him.

Desideria glared just as hard back up at him. She couldn't stand ignorant, arrogant assholes like him It was why she avoided Nightsisters and brothers like the plague. She knew her own temper was something to marvel and being around someone so... Horrible, just set her off. And she would never risk her life within the clan because of someone so worthless to her - powerful male or not. She just as soon turn a blind eye to Kama ripping him to pieces. The muggy air around them began to stir with her urges, pulling at her hair gently at the moment. At any moment, she could bring a storm like no other down on his head. That was something she couldn't let happen. Using her magic in anger would result in a punishment she would never be able to handle.

"Shut up. And don't call me dear. Its Desideria or Desi. Nothing else." She turned her attention to Kama, speaking to her in Paecian. The beast nodded, reaching up to tear a piece of rope from the scaly armor she wore. Desi took it from her, moving her whip from his wrist to replace it with the rope around both wrists. She glared up at him, pulling uncomfortably at the tall, oil-black color of scales around her neck. "Don't even bother thinking about running, Kama will eat you before you can get more than a few feet away." Sighing, the tiny girl turned, walking over to Kama before climbing up her arm like an insect. With a content smile, she sat on the beast's left shoulder, her legs dangling down happily, tapping against the creature's chest plate.

Calming herself, she patted Kama's neck, turning her gaze to Graxin. "Walk that way." She called down at him from her 26 foot perch, pointing towards the west.

Graxin tilted partway to stare up at the Rancor. Well, the charm thing didn't work. He didn't have much else to do but comply either. Swallowing any insults that might have started to brew in his chest; Graxin began to trudge on toward the west. Thankfully, the Gulley Jumper wouldn't start without his thumbprint, and there was really nothing of value aboard. On his person though....well, that was a different story.

His boots sunk partway into the damp soil, and his brow contorted in silent determination as he trudged on. He certainly didn't want to be here, but he really had no choice.

Just get through this, and you'll be fine.

He tilted his head up at Desi, and purse his lips. "Where are we going?"
