LFG Non-canon Fleeting Tournament?

Pretty much what the titles says, because I have an itch to fleet and haven't in a while (especially without any stakes involved).

Would anyone be interested in engaging in series of small-scale engagements against a variety of foes for fun or practice?

I have a number of scenarios thought out of for people, so this won't be simple annihilation of similarly-sized forces. I think that smaller sized fleets (5-10km) would probably be better than larger ones, though I'm open to other ideas if people have them.

(PS. If you're interested in trying fleeting, but never have had any ships available, feel free to grab any ships you want from CorelliSpace).

Not sure how this would work out, but I'd love to see some scenarios pitting one SSD led fleet against another as it's so rare to see them used in the wild. As it's non canon, writers could even use their own SSD from any Major they were part of, still alive on the map or not.

Jyoti Nooran , I'd say it's something to consider, but not everyone has access to a SSD.

• No player may captain a SSD / Dreadnought without the Major Faction Owner's consent.

If anyone else is interested in this though, this could be a potential round for those who are interested and have a MFO's consent to use it in this tournament.

In the next couple days, everyone will be receiving a private message from me with the match to their fleeting partner, the basic scenario details, and a rough map to start out with. This is a time to ask me questions and make sure we're all on the same page. I intend to actually start posting the roleplaying battle threads this upcoming weekend.

In general, I intend for the winner of each battle to be organically settled by roleplaying. Remember, there are no stakes in this tournament, so have fun, play fair, and hopefully learn something from this experience. With that said, there is some room to game some of the scenarios in which case I may intervene (For example, if you're the defender in a convoy escort mission, and you immediately roleplay all of your convoy ships jumping to safety in the first post or two - that's not really giving your opponent a fair chance). Winners of the first round will move onto the second round after this,.

Kiff Brayde , I'll add you to the list! Currently, we have two other people want to SSDs, so if you make it past the first round, I'll pair you up with that person to have an SSD slugfest!

Isabella Pavan , good question, and yes. That's going to be scenario dependent which you will found out in the upcoming PM. For obvious reasons, the people with 10 km long SSDs will not likely want to have a 10 km "fleet".

A ARS VAMI , while I think that’s an interesting idea(and one that happens in real life naval exercises), this is intentionally “non-canon” on the board to make sure that there’s no real stakes involved so it can be more fun focused. I think that IC intelligence gathering would detract from that, and we don’t have any standardized diminution to speak of.
