"Templar"
Character
Templar had lingered within the High Republic territory for some time. There was no urgency in her wandering, nor any destination she had chosen for herself. The Relic simply moved from world to world, watching and allowing centuries of absence to be filled in through observations. As of now, the Light was concentrated here. She could feel it in ways that extended beyond the Force itself.
In the settlements and civilizations she passed through, people walked the streets without constantly looking over their shoulders. They did not live beneath the expectations of war and conflict. Yet, curiously, Templar had encountered comparatively few Jedi.
That absence interested her more than their presence might have.
Perhaps there was simply no need. The worlds touched by the Light here found no great congregation of robed guardians or abundance of Force users inserting themselves into affairs that appeared perfectly capable of continuing without them. Maybe that was what success looked for the Jedi of this time. Cultivating something stable enough that their presence was unnecessary. If peace within these borders could maintain itself without a Jedi constantly hovering nearby to preserve it, perhaps the Light of this time or at least in this territory had accomplished what it was meant to.
The calm current changed, something lightly brushed against her senses directing Templar to a planet called Corellia. She allowed it to guide her through the densely populated streets. Her boots came to a halt as her helmet slowly inclined up at the illuminated sign hanging above the entrance before her. A casino. The helmet slightly dipped forward. One gloved hand emerged from beneath her cloak, readjusting it with a small push.
A slightly amused breath escaped her. Of course. Apparently, whatever mysterious wisdom the Force possessed had decided after centuries spent sealed away that Templar needed to be at a gambling establishment. It wasn’t the first time that it carried her to one, she recalled being led to a Hutt casino in Nar Shaddaa. The Relic’s “Master” at the time had found the entire affair endlessly amusing. Apparently somethings transcends eras.
Templar’s hand lowered and she continued forward, entering in. The establishment was considerably far more refined than the Hutt's. The clientele was composed and behaved more civilly. Following the invisible tether, her armor and cloak drew attention. Heads that turned toward her direction were only brief before returning to their game. Eventually the Relic came across one of the card tables.
For a moment, she observed. The individual (
The dealer noticed when she began to approach. Whatever satisfaction had occupied their face diminished as the Relic stopped beside the table. Their posture straightened up and their eyes settled upon the expressionless helmet staring directly toward them. The silence lasted long enough for the dealer’s confidence to falter. “There’s, ah… another round beginning shortly-” Their hand extended out toward an empty chair at the table. “Y-You’re welcome to join us.”
Templar continued to silently look at them before reaching for the offered chair. Now seated beside the younger woman, cards were distributed around the table shortly after. The cards slid face down into a small pile in front of her. Nothing about them was enlightening. Her visor remained toward the cards for several seconds before turning to the stranger beside her.
Tap. Tap. Two light touches from her gloved finger sounded against the tabletop near the woman’s side. It would be close enough to attract her attention without intruding upon whatever personal boundary.
