No Sacrifice, No Victory (OS Dominion of Fresia)

[7/20]
Objective: 1
Location: Underground
Allies: One Sith

Moving away from the hole, shrinking down to his normal size as he went, Nerius yawned long and hard. He was already bored. It was time now to find his next fun mission.

Heading for the nearest shipyard, he walked around a moment, perusing through the ships amassed there. Eventually he stumbled across a wonderful little ship which he commandeered under the pretense that...well he wanted it!

Opening the hatch, he climbed aboard, closed it, and made preparations to depart.

The particularly fascinating part of a Class-A thermal detonator was its rather large range and destructive power. Its full reach, even hindered by reinforced duracrete walls, was a whopping twenty-five square meters - enough to completely envelope the entire street that the two were fighting within. The small bombs had a reputation for being the tools of bounty hunters because of their finality - vaporizing everything that came in contact with their explosive force, a single thermal detonator having been used in the destruction of Xicor's palace nearly a millennia ago. Yet here was a Jawa so casually tossing one towards him as he began his charge again while speedily escaping with the aid of force speed. The Anzati had mere seconds to react, fractions of it ticking away as he had to process this information. No amount of speed would save someone from such a close, delayed, explosion - he had to have been waiting for the proper moment to throw it, meaning it was already ready to blow even as he threw it. This meant the blast radius must have been smaller than the typical Class-A, which was generally used by military demolitions anyways, and hinted closer to Class-C, which had a minor blast radius of six meters. This was still relatively large, but it was much smaller than what he had nearly came to expect and it was incredibly smaller than the average grenade - especially as explosives of such a small size were generally utilized to blow open doors rather than for actual combat.

Taking the chance to hazard his guess true, the Anzat continued his run without stopping or attempting to turn knowing that the average human could muster a sprint of nearly ten meters per second for a brief period and he could vastly exceed that. He only had just under two seconds, however, judging by the haste and the throw, meaning he'd still be within shrapnel range of any debris. Eyes closed, focusing, the monstrous man put a great deal of effort into his next action - a forceful push-off with his dominant, right, foot, which would have normally been the same result as a human trying to run at their peak speed without synchronization - a tumble. But as he pushed off and just narrowly exceeded the range of the explosive's reach he was blown forwards forcefully as the remainder of the particle and molecular shield that protected him against the Jawa's lightsaber strikes took the remaining brunt of blow and kept him from being riddled with concussive blows from duracrete shards and various other objects of peril. But he was alive, and he was well. There was no stopping, however, and even as he fell forwards he could smell the ozone in the air, his predatory instincts kicking in now that his prey was out of his line of sight. A quick push, both of his muscular arms flexing largely as he kicked his feet up, and the Anzati flipped feet-over-head into the air, hands moving to his waste, as a long stream of electricity licked at the air beneath him. For a moment everything seemed to slow down and his smooth, stone-like, expressionless face altered into a grin. Then just as quickly everything began to move much more quickly, hands unclipping the power pack attached to his Paragon-class energy shield via an emergency release button while the other replaced it with the one that had been charged via the molecular shield's siphoning of the lightsaber strikes prior.

One tenth of a second passed and he fell to the ground hands first in direct contact with the stream of lightning that surged around the molecular shield that struggled to absorb and siphon off the electrical power of the enemy's force output. This, of course, was completely impractical and downright impossible for more than at best ten seconds, but it certainly gave him the proper time to continue his survival. "So you sought help." Came his insulted grumble, although amused. It was obvious that he would certainly have a challenge now, dealing with multiple force users was always just that - a challenge. But what the two seemed to forget was that unlike them, he did not rely on the force. To be caught like this was like any other time, and he did not have to stand stock still and rely on some way to counter the flow of lightning to utilize some slow-acting and dangerously tedious action through the force with concentration split between it and defense. Lightning moved in one direction, which meant his second target was directly ahead of him, and based on the stealth and timed effort to try to neutralize him it meant that the newcomer was not suited for direct confrontation like the gaudy little runt that had tried to cut him to pieces earlier. Now the only problem that remained was that he was, at the moment, standing in front of a stream of lightning that left him with less than five seconds to move out of the way or risk being fried in his metallic suit of armor. And so he did, though not in a way that he had with the explosive thermal detonator.

Down he crouched and then like a spring his legs uncoiled and forwards he leaped through the air, moving quickly with muscle-driven velocity. While he, the Anzat, weighed in at what was slightly above average for the normal Anzat, his armor was lighter than what would have likely been seen on the front lines of battle - certainly lighter than chain mail, while protecting much more. The assumption that his armor would do much to slow him down more than he already was simply meant underestimating the alien, and underestimating something that could crush a soldier's helmet bare-fisted without aid of the force was a severe mistake to make. And though his energy shield had likely enough juice left to resist a single, direct, strike with a lightsaber it was hardly a concern for the man as this battle was going to quickly become a close-quarters fight. "Come to me, you meager pups, and learn the savagery of war, I will grind your bones beneath my feet!" Hans bellowed, landing down off to the side of where the lightning had been streaming by with a loud echo of his boots coming in contact hard with the ground. Where [member="Saiah"] might have been hidden both by invisibility and his directed focus prior, now she was fully within both his vision and sensory organs - neither of which relied on something so meager as the force to sustain. It was obvious that most of these Jedi and Sith had trained almost solely on enhancing their strengths while hoping their flaws would never show up in a real fight, but today it seemed like the two would have a shocking revelation in just how painful defeat could feel. And as he charged..

He would bring it.

The 20m radius explosion rocked the earth when it went off, a resounding buzzing sound that emanated from the air being disintegrated with the intense thermo device. Though, it seemed that due to the combination of the Anzati's reflexes and his own poor aim, the bomb that he threw had barely phased the Anzat, he was able to react to the throw, judge its trajectory and get himself out of the minimal shrapnel range with little damage other than burning out the energy shield application on his armour, which, thankfully was at least one advantage. Though it seemed to be short lived, as another source of energy seemed to be welling up around him after a quick change of power packs... this was unacceptable, Iziz grimaced as his only chance of removing the threat of his opponent now seemed to be gone, the force flowing through his body was tiring, though, not to much more than a slight loss of breath, able to be recovered in a few fleeting moments. Iziz had to re-double his efforts on bringing down the colossus which stood before him, knowing he had sustained literally no damage throughout their encounter, and, whether it be true or not, minimal effort... Though it was at this time of his deliberating that Saiah's lightning smashed into the side of their opponent, ripping at the shield. Saiah had made her strike, but Iziz felt somewhat annoyed that he would have to rely on her help to topple this man.

As her lightning began, Iziz coiled his hands together and focused on the force, The Jawa was not the best user when it came to lightning, though, he had a single talent with that skill, competent at making powerful single bolts which were able to burn holes through objects. He felt the force flow through his fingertips, as the dark-side coursed through his veins. churning and converting like energy to heat as the dark-side became electricity in his body, charging his cells and causing his hair to stand up on end. Pulling his hands to a side, he cupped them tightly together, as that energy now teetered at his fingertips. Though, to his surprise, the armoured man jumped free of Saiahs' lightning, but he had made a grave error, judging the distance he was travelling, and the speed at which he was going in a heartbeat, Iziz aimed his lightning bolt in such a manner that it would collide with Verun when he was but one foot from the ground. He made a fatal flaw when it had come to combat, leaving the ground made it very hard to change your trajectory, as one could not force themselves to land any faster than they were going to.

The Jawa Felt confident.

Should the bolt of lightning collide, kinetic energy surging through the almost natural bolt of lightning could knock an opponent of his size and stature back a few meters, and the bolt of lightning would strike with far more energy than that of a single light-saber strike when it came to the nature of his shield, though, due to the phrik which covered his armour, and phrik's natural property of dispersing electricity, would leave Verun largely unharmed, save for perhaps a couple of minor burns and bruises around the impact zone. Rolling forward to collect his blades once again and extending them, it seemed that the Anzat wanted a fight in close combat... seeing no other alternative now, Iziz charged him head on. Leaning forward as his focus on his own force enhanced movements once again pushed him beyond the limits of natural beings, charging forward with his light-sabers to either side, he would observe the presence of Saiah, hoping that she would have the sense to join with the fight... as long as she was here she would be able to provide back-up.

Once Iziz reached his target, he would jump high, kicking off with one foot and routing his momentum once again into a calculated tornado-like spin of light-saber blows which would strike near a dozen times down-ward and toward his enemies' upper body. Preparing his deadly tail to follow up with the attack, as it loosened around his waist with the spin, beginning to uncoil hidden from sight in the Jawa's long cloak.

Vrag

The Second Seal, broken.

There was something particularly satisfying to the give of pliant meat underneath the searing heat of her weapon, a feeling she'd learned to appreciate during the many years of war that were now under her belt. After some time, you even started recognizing the particular nuances in that pulsating sentiment, the way the tendons and sinew moved aside under the pressure, the gentle sizzle of fat as the blade touched it… well, you get the point. Small pleasures in life, and all that.

Only seconds after the blood-curdling scream had cut across the din of battle, Vrag felt the Vonduun clench angrily against her side, reeling even as the energy field projected by its glands staved off the scorching blade.

Not one to linger in the same place for long, and especially not in the middle of combat, the firrerreo stepped right into the personal space of her opponent, her free left hand snapping forward in an efford to deliver a crippling blow to the stomach of her foe. The Skerr Ygdris would clench in tandem with her own muscles, crossing the small space left between them with incredible speed; a speed that packed enough of a punch to ram straight through duracrete walls.

Flesh? Yeah… flesh wouldn't fare very well against that, but then again, that was the point.

Amelia had not expected that her blind flailing with the lightsaber would actually hit the enemy, as any decent combatant would have seen it coming and dodged without difficulty; her pleasure at that development of events, however, was instantly replaced by a disheartening feeling, when she realised the laser blade had failed to penetrate the enemy's armour. This new knowledge enlightened her as to the reason why her enemy was willing to fight so recklessly; if it had an intellect, that intellect was either aware of the capabilities of its armour, or generally had no sense of self-preservation.

When said enemy closed the difference between them in the moment of weakness, before the Echani had managed to resume her defensive posture, coming far closer than would have been necessary to strike with its weapon, it could only have been in order to make an unarmed attack. The Jedi's body moved so as to redirect the blow to the side with her empty hand, allowing the enemy to continue its strike unimpeded and thereby expose itself to her counter-attack... or at least she would have done so, had the ram-headed opponent's fist not somehow managed to speed up mid-punch just about at the last centimetres of distance where redirecting the blow would have been most efficacious. The punch therefore was only mildly redirected, hitting somewhat to the left of her stomach, crushing the durasteel plate on that side of her breastplate, and sending her flying back into the same wall she had hit moments before by that energy wave.

The pain was exquisite; she had difficulty breathing and her side hurt. There was likely a rib or two broken, not to even account for sword-arm, which still burned excruciatingly at the upper arm section where it had had a close encounter with the lightsabre kind. The latter she could feel had already begun to mend, thanks to her father's genes, but it would be minutes before it healed completely, and in that time, she might well already be dead.
Not that it mattered; her head began throbbing and she laboured to move her hand behind her head. Her hair felt wet. The pain in the back of her head began to stab at her brain more strongly; what had been needles before were knives now.

The last thing she saw before losing consciousness was the ram-headed armoured figure looming over her...
