Xuko Pagoi
Character
Xuko frowned as he pulled his thoughts together following Reina's question. He had some clarifying to do. "That is not what I had envisioned. Whether they participate or not is their choice. And I would not ask anyone else to do something I am not willing to do myself." The statement was not boastful; it was simply pragmatic- relying upon others was a rare circumstance on Iridonia, and as such its people were not inclined to sit idly by. "But waiting for danger to present itself and hoping that the Force is easier to connect with in that moment seems unwise... it is a luxury to be able to learn in a classroom. I shall have to think more on this."
The Zabrak simply shrugged in response to Reina's comments about the rock he'd tossed away. As far as he was concerned, there were dozens of similar-sized rocks along the path for him to choose from if he wanted to replace it,. Besides, given his struggles with Telekinesis, this wasn't the time to practice.
Especially as Xuko begun to realize that despite her scars, some of Reina's wounds were still in the process of healing.
He'd touched a nerve- of that he was certain- but Xuko decided to press the issue. He'd done enough retreating over the course of their conversation, and he sensed that this was an important moment... for her to process, for him to better understand, or both. Xuko stopped on the path and tilted his head at the red-haired Pawdawan. The others near or behind them (

"That is the only lesson your near-death experiences have taught you? That you have been lucky?" Sarcasm wasn't something Xuko utilized often, but it felt appropriate here. Of course Reina knew her lived experiences better than he did- he wasn't trying to dispute that- but Xuko couldn't wrap his head around the mindset she'd seemingly adopted in the aftermath.
"Do not diminish yourself. You survived the sea and have lived to breathe the air on Tython. A Mandalorian attacked you but did not claim your life. The Gamorrean took your leg, but you still walk. And judging by your inclination towards verbal sparring, the Sith has failed miserably in breaking your spirit."
Xuko locked eyes with Reina, his gaze every bit as intense as his voice.
"I do not admire your luck- I admire the way in which you live on in spite of your scars."
