- Advanced targeting systems. The destroyer has highly advanced targeting systems assisted by several Y1 brains.
- Armament mounts. Rather than having fixed positions the Nixa's armament and positioning has been designed with near full-coverage in mind. It takes time to reorient, but this is several magnitudes faster than re-positioning the entire ship.
- Heavy Shielding. Multiple overlapping shield systems make the Nixa very effective in defensive positions.
- Advanced hyperdrive. The hyperdrive is on the cutting-edge of speed and is outfitted with a HIMS module. While it's slow once it reverts to real-space, it can avoid being yanked out of hyperspace and has a very rapid deployment time because of its speed in hyperspace.
- Armament: It is substantially more powerful than most ships its class and can even keep pace with ships larger than itself. It is capable of dishing out pain from close to middle and even long-range, acting as either an artillery platform or coming in close and personal.
- Defenses: Strong defenses with heavy armor and multiple overlapping shield systems.
- Hyperdrive: Advanced hyperdrive allows it to rapidly be deployed in a fraction of the time.
- Maneuverability: Substantially less maneuverable than ships its class.
- Speed: Slower than most ships its class.
- Hangar: None. It can only rely on its own armament and defenses or will need support from other ships.
It was a success.
The design decisions included weapon mounts that allow nearly full coverage from most realistic angles. This allows the Nixa to forward its fire power while avoiding the need to reorient the entire ship at the same time. This combined with an advanced hyperdrive allows it to appear at the nick of time in a support or assault role, depending on what is necessary. The targeting systems allow for it to track enemy positions from a wide range of distance.
Contrary to other ships the Nixa isn't as heavily automated as other starships it has constructed.
This was done on purpose to buff and improve on the navy culture slowly growing within Didact, Antigone and the Corporate Sector at large.
