Nitya Xeraic
Character
NITYA XERAIC
Name: Nitya XeraicRank: High Padawan
Species: Human-Zorren
Age: 33
Sex: Female
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 110 lbs
Eyes: Naturally glowing yellow
Hair: Black
Skin: Light tan
Force Sensitive: Yes
FORCE PROFILE
Primary Strengths: Precognition, telekinesis, Force manipulation, and energy perception.Secondary Skills: Meditation, ritual practices, Force-assisted survival, minor healing techniques, and an emerging understanding of Dathomiri Magick through Clan Xeraic.
Zorren Trait: Both of Nitya's eyes naturally glow yellow as a manifestation of her Zorren heritage. This contributes to her unusually acute Force perception, particularly when sensing energy, subtle disturbances, and changes within her surroundings.
Operational Note: The glow of Nitya's eyes is innate rather than a consequence of active Force use. While heightened concentration or Force activity may make them appear more intense, their coloration is natural and stable.
Nitya's relationship with the Force is contemplative and intuitive. She has never possessed the emotional intensity displayed by some members of her family, instead approaching the Force through observation, patience, awareness, and deliberate action. She tends toward neutrality in how she perceives the Force itself, although some of the abilities and traditions she has begun exploring through her Dathomiri heritage are commonly associated with darker practices.
Recent contact with her younger sister Dreidi and Clan Xeraic has begun exposing Nitya to Dathomiri Magick, ritual practices, ancestral traditions, and the history of her maternal family. She remains at the beginning of this education and considers herself a student rather than a practicing witch of any significant ability.
LIGHTSABER AND EQUIPMENT
Nitya possesses a single-bladed lightsaber constructed for practicality rather than ornamentation. Its hilt is understated and balanced, reflecting a Jedi who considers the weapon a means of defense rather than an expression of martial identity. The blade is an unusually pale mint green, considerably lighter than the traditional green carried by her mother, Jairdain. At its center the blade appears nearly white, surrounded by a soft mint-green radiance. The coloration gives Nitya a visual connection to her Jedi heritage without reproducing either of her parents' weapons. Jairdain carries green, while Nitya's late father, Yuroic Xeraic, carried yellow.
Nitya does not habitually reach for her lightsaber when confronted with danger. She prefers observation, the Force, negotiation, positioning, and avoidance when circumstances allow. When violence becomes unavoidable, however, she is entirely capable of using it.
PHYSICAL AND COMBAT SKILLS
Combat Training: Basic to intermediate lightsaber techniques with particular competence in defensive maneuvers. Her early combat fundamentals were taught by her father, Yuroic Xeraic.Physical Condition: Lean, agile, disciplined, and accustomed to maintaining her conditioning through regular training rather than sustained battlefield activity.
Combat Style: Nitya fights patiently. She is unlikely to overwhelm an opponent through aggression and instead relies upon awareness, anticipation, defensive positioning, and Force-assisted reactions. Precognition frequently allows her to begin responding before an attack has fully developed.
Limitations: Nitya has comparatively limited experience in prolonged warfare and large-scale battlefield engagements. Against dedicated martial specialists, her lightsaber abilities are unlikely to match their technical experience. She compensates through Force perception, tactical awareness, and an unwillingness to engage on an opponent's preferred terms.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Nitya is calm, measured, observant, and methodical. She rarely reacts immediately when given the opportunity to consider a situation first, preferring to listen and understand before deciding how she feels or what she intends to do.Her emotional reserve should not be mistaken for an absence of emotion. Nitya feels deeply, but her emotions tend to emerge quietly and develop slowly. She has described herself as experiencing emotion less intensely than others around her, particularly when comparing herself to members of her family whose passions are much closer to the surface.
Years of independence have made her highly self-sufficient, sometimes excessively so. Nitya became accustomed to solving her own problems and enduring difficulty without expecting anyone else to remain beside her. More recently, she has begun questioning whether endurance and independence are necessarily the same thing.
She possesses a dry, understated sense of humor that becomes considerably more visible around people she trusts. While naturally reserved, she is neither cold nor antisocial. Given patience and safety, Nitya can be surprisingly warm, affectionate, curious, and playful.
Her moral compass remains strongly influenced by Jedi principles, although Nitya is increasingly willing to examine traditions outside conventional Jedi teachings rather than dismissing them simply because the Order considers them dangerous or unconventional.
EXTENDED HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE
Birth and Early Life
Nitya Xeraic was born on Kashyyyk to Jedi parents Jairdain Ismet and Yuroic Xeraic. Her childhood was shaped by both parents, although each contributed something different to the person she eventually became. Jairdain introduced her to the Force and the contemplative disciplines surrounding it, while Yuroic taught her the fundamentals of combat, survival, and lightsaber use.Her Zorren heritage manifested visibly through her naturally glowing yellow eyes, a characteristic that remained with her throughout her life and contributed to her unusual sensitivity toward Force energies and environmental disturbances.
Nitya grew up knowing Marcus Ismet-Ku as her older half-brother and later Dreidi Xeraic as her younger full sister. Her family would continue expanding and changing long after her childhood, sometimes without Nitya's knowledge.
Adolescence and Loss
At sixteen, Nitya lost her father.Yuroic Xeraic had been a fighter, an archer, and eventually a great Jedi, but Nitya never viewed him as an uncomplicated hero. He had made mistakes throughout his life, some of them significant. What mattered most to Nitya was that neither she nor her siblings had ever been made to believe they were among those mistakes.
His health deteriorated during the family's later years together, including a decline in his mind that Nitya witnessed before his eventual death. His loss removed one of the central sources of guidance from her life at an age when she was still determining what sort of Jedi and woman she wished to become.
Her mother's subsequent disappearance compounded that loss.
During her trials on Veradune, Nitya was also abandoned by her uncle Vulpesen and forced to survive through her own ingenuity, Force awareness, and the lessons her parents had left with her. The experience reinforced a pattern that would define much of her early adulthood: when other people disappeared, Nitya endured.
Early Adulthood
Following Veradune, Nitya traveled to Zeltros seeking mentorship. That relationship ultimately failed to provide what she needed and further reinforced her growing independence.Rather than attaching herself firmly to another teacher, Nitya increasingly became responsible for her own development. Throughout her early twenties, she undertook smaller missions involving artifact recovery, Force-sensitive reconnaissance, mediation, investigation, and other assignments suited to her particular strengths.
These experiences developed her into a capable, independent operative without turning her into a battlefield Jedi. Nitya learned to survive through awareness, preparation, adaptability, and careful application of the Force rather than overwhelming martial ability.
Mother's Reappearance
Around the age of twenty-one, approximately five years after Yuroic's death, Jairdain returned to Nitya's life.Their reunion could not simply erase the intervening years. Nitya had changed considerably during her mother's absence and had learned how little she truly needed from others to continue functioning. Rebuilding their relationship, therefore, required time, patience, and an acceptance that neither woman could return to precisely who she had been before.
Nevertheless, Jairdain's return restored an important connection to Nitya's family and eventually allowed mother and daughter to establish a relationship as adults rather than attempting to recreate the one interrupted during Nitya's adolescence.
Recent Years
Nitya eventually settled on Oralis Prime, where she established a quieter life centered around study, meditation, training, nature, and the gradual restoration and maintenance of a secluded Jedi monastery. Her days became deliberately simple. She meditated, trained, maintained the grounds, studied archival material, cultivated gardens, and occasionally traveled when missions or personal obligations called her elsewhere. The monastery provided something Nitya had rarely possessed during her younger years: continuity.
Recent events have begun drawing her outward again.
Through Dreidi, Nitya has begun reconnecting with Clan Xeraic and exploring the Dathomiri heritage that had previously existed largely as family history rather than lived experience. She has visited Dathomir, studied the clan's archives, encountered records left by distant ancestors, and expressed interest in learning whatever Dreidi and the other witches in her family are willing to teach her.
She has also become increasingly involved in events surrounding her family, including efforts to recover Jairdain following her abduction by Darth Carnifex.
For perhaps the first time since establishing herself on Oralis Prime, Nitya has begun wondering whether the solitude that once gave her exactly what she needed has become something she should occasionally leave behind. She has not abandoned the monastery or the life she built there. Instead, she is beginning to consider whether having somewhere to return to might make leaving easier.
CURRENT RESIDENCE
Location: Jedi Monastery, Oralis PrimeNitya resides within a secluded monastery situated among the forested hills of Oralis Prime. The complex combines old stone construction with wood, gardens, meditation spaces, archives, training grounds, living quarters, and cultivated terraces.
Natural Force currents run through the surrounding landscape and contribute heavily to Nitya's attachment to the location.
The monastery is not merely a residence. Nitya has spent years caring for it and shaping the grounds around it, particularly its gardens. She views cultivation as an exercise in patience and stewardship rather than control, allowing plants and landscapes to develop naturally while providing the conditions necessary for them to flourish.
Although she values her solitude, Nitya does not consider the monastery exclusively hers. Those who come peacefully and genuinely wish to learn are welcome there.
DAY-IN-THE-LIFE VIGNETTE
Before dawn, Nitya often wakes while mist still hangs beneath the forest canopy. Her mornings begin with meditation, allowing her awareness to settle gradually into the Force currents moving through the forests, rivers, stone, and living things surrounding the monastery. The natural glow of her yellow eyes becomes subtly more pronounced during deeper concentration, though she rarely notices the change herself.Training follows meditation. Some mornings involve physical conditioning or lightsaber practice with her pale mint-green blade, while others are devoted entirely to exercises involving telekinesis, perception, or precision. Nitya does not train because she expects battle. She trains because discipline deteriorates when neglected.
The remainder of her day varies considerably. She may spend hours among the archives, work in the gardens, maintain parts of the monastery, travel to nearby settlements, or simply walk through the surrounding wilderness, allowing herself to observe rather than accomplish anything in particular.
Evenings are quieter. Nitya frequently returns to meditation, reading, writing, or tending the grounds as daylight disappears behind the surrounding hills.
It is a life built around returning rather than remaining still.
TACTICAL AND OPERATIONAL NOTES
Force Potential: 10/10Exceptional sensitivity with particular strength in precognition, telekinesis, energy perception, and controlled Force manipulation.
Lightsaber Skill: 6/10
Competent in defensive and intermediate techniques. Capable of protecting herself against most ordinary threats but not primarily a duelist.
Physical Agility: 8/10
Lean, disciplined, adaptable, and capable of efficient Force-assisted movement.
Combat Strategy: 7/10
A patient tactical thinker who performs best in smaller engagements where observation and adaptability matter more than overwhelming force.
Stealth/Reconnaissance: 9/10
Highly capable of remaining unnoticed, observing environments, detecting threats, and using Force perception for intelligence gathering.
Meditation/Focus: 10/10
One of Nitya's defining strengths. She possesses exceptional patience and concentration.
Emotional Stability: 9/10
Calm and difficult to provoke. Emotional reserve makes manipulation challenging, although her growing attachments may create vulnerabilities she has comparatively little experience navigating.
Adaptability: 8/10
Survived abandonment, failed mentorship, family upheaval, and years of largely independent development.
Operational Reliability: 10/10
Disciplined, self-motivated, and unlikely to abandon an objective without compelling reason.
Leadership Potential: 7/10
Capable of instruction and small-unit coordination, but possesses little interest in authority for its own sake.
MISSION SUITABILITY
Nitya is particularly well suited for reconnaissance, Force-sensitive artifact recovery, investigation, intelligence gathering, mediation, infiltration support, and missions requiring patience or unusually precise Force perception. She is less suited for direct frontline deployment, prolonged warfare, or missions where success depends primarily upon defeating powerful opponents through martial skill.
Her greatest tactical advantage is often that she notices trouble before everyone else does.
FAMILY
Mother: Jairdain Ismet-ThioFather: Yuroic Xeraic, deceased
Older Half-Sister: Violet Charr, unknown to Nitya
Older Half-Brother: Marcus Ismet-Ku
Younger Half-Sister: Jayna Ismet-Thio
Younger Full Sister: Dreidi Xeraic
Uncle: Vulpesen
Nitya is currently unaware that Violet Charr is her older half-sister. Violet's existence, therefore, has no influence upon Nitya's present understanding of her family or her own history. Should their relationship eventually be discovered, it would represent entirely new information to Nitya rather than the recovery of something she had forgotten.
Nitya maintains differing relationships with the family she does know. Marcus lives a comparatively quiet life on Commenor, while her recent reconnection with Dreidi has brought Nitya substantially closer to her Dathomiri ancestry and Clan Xeraic. Her knowledge of Jayna and the newer branches of Jairdain's family remains considerably less developed.
Despite the fractures, disappearances, deaths, and complicated relationships that have shaped the Xeraic family, Nitya has increasingly begun to recognize that family remains one of the few constants to which she continues returning.
