STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
Nikolai's greatest strength is his years of training in the art of misdirection and “magic”. He is fantastically quick with his hands, his training in doing magic tricks has made him quite dextrous and capable of doing surprising things. Because of his training in misdirection and years practicing his tricks on the street Nikolai is also fantastically detail oriented. He is capable of using Telekenisis with the force to near pinpoint accuracy, using that very technique in most of his tricks.
Although Nikolai is amazingly agile and intelligent his greatest failing is that he has little to now combat experience. He has never fought a day in his life and thus when confronted with any sort of fighting he tends to dodge and weave around his opponents. He prefers to use trickery and deceit to beat his opponents, though this often means he comes to more harm than his other Fellow Jedi. This also means however that Nikolai is near impervious to attack. Those mentalists that try to penetrate his mind find nothing but a maze and prison, much like Nikolai's own magic acts his mind is a winding tunnel of confusion.
His other great failing is that although he carries a Lightsaber Nikolai refuses to use the weapon. Ironically he despises and dislikes the forms and grace needed to use the Weapon. Instead Nikolai prefers to use various other small weapons he has invented through the years within his magic act.

BIOGRAPHY:
Nikolai's up bringing was actually pretty standard when compared to some other big names within the galaxy. He was born to a middle class family with hard working parents who supported well from infancy. Nikolai had everything he wanted from when he was a child, he was neither spoiled, nor wanting of anything. This pleasant upbringing and the general disconnection from the terrors of the galaxy allowed Nikolai to take an early interest in something that was actually rather uncommon within the galaxy, magic.
It was not the force that he was interested in, or the Dathomiri magics that most people think of when they hear the word “magic”. No Nikolai took interest in trickery and deceit. He found Magic tricks to be entirely fascinating. The idea of slight of hand, and tricking an audience into thinking something has happened when it actually has not interested him. He came to love the art of magic tricks and practice almost every day.
Growing up Nikolai showed a great appreciation for magic tricks of all sorts. He proved himself advantageous in the field at a young age, performing to massive crowds of hundreds at the age of only fourteen. He did card tricks from the beginning, using regular Sabbacc and Pazaak Cards to do his tricks. This continued for some time until he grew more and more adept, eventually making himself and members of the audience disappear.
It was around this time at the age of 16 that Nikolai discovered something very special. When he concentrated hard enough, and gave it enough effort he could make objects float. By this time he had of course heard of the Jedi and their mysterious abilities, though the thought that that was what was happening hardly occurred to him. Nikolai quickly capitalized on this new found ability and quicly trained himself to use it.
Almost instantly he incorporated it into his acts and only weeks later he became more and more famous. The Force guided him to fame. He used it it in a variety of different ways, levitating objects, people, himself, and even using it to make himself disappear. His Card tricks in particular became the center of galactic attention, the things he did with regular Pazaak card became almost miraculous and Nikolai's name was quickly heard in househoulds across the Republic.
Of course with his level of fame it was only a matter of time before one or another Jedi master went to one of his showings. As soon as the Jedi Master began to watch Nikolai's show the man realized what the young Magician was doing. Instead of revealing his secret to the galaxy however the Jedi Master went backstage to confront Nikolai. The two of them spoke at length, with the Jedi Master offering guidance and advice about Nikolai's obvious talents.
After a long discussion the Jedi invited Nikolai to the Temple, despite his age. The young Magician seeing it as a way to improve his craft quickly accepted and within only a week he found himself within the walls of the Jedi Temple.
