Via Dolorosa
Amans In Tenebris
With extensive research done over the course of six months on the black orchid plant hidden deep in the forests of Anaxes at the Thorn of the Black Rose, it had been concluded unanimously that the plant was ready for the second phase of trails; the combining of the black rose with other known poisonous plants.
The goal was to find the right combination and mixture that could be utilized with Sith Alchemy to create biological weapons; mainly the black orchid virus. Several samples of plant species were brought in and tested with the black orchid plant and Sith Alchemy. The process was delicate due to the aggressive nature of the black orchid plant. Through trial and error, and many unsuccessful attempts in the beginning, a list was compiled of which plants could be used in accordance with the orchid plant.
First on the list was the Arool cactus found on the planet of Ithor. The plant by itself was only deadly to humans, known to cause the respiratory system to shut down resulting in death in only a couple of days if left untreated. When introduced to the black orchid plant, the effects were heightened causing death in less than thirty hours.
Second on the list was the Darkkonin plant of Gorsh. Initially the plant was harmless but it was it's berries that bore the poisonous application. The berries when ingested released an acidic compound that literally began to poison the insides of the one that ate them; death was sure to occur within eight hours. The berries mixed with the black orchid produced a far more horrifying result, it could literally devour the lining of the intestines resulting in violent convulsions and madness, leading to brain aneurysms and finally death.
The third plant came from Dagobah or Hoth and was only classified as a Deadly Plant according the records and archives. The scientists at the lab designated the name aigéadbane. The plant was fatal to humans and all species but it also could shoot out gland-like acid from it's leaves and stalks. Alone the plant could only claim victims after a seventy-two hour period. But when combined with the black orchid, it literally ate the flesh away.
The fourth and final plant was Stingwort. Native to Dronger, the plant could infect any species with physical pain for days. Left unchecked, or in extreme cases, it could lead to anaphylactic shock or even death. When mixed with the black orchid, it attacked the central nervous system and the respiratory system; death was instantaneous.
When all five where combined and sprinkled with Sith Alchemy, death was absolute. But the dead didn't stay dead, they rose. Unfortunately, the test subject was destroyed. Also, all their specimens had been exhausted; so in order to perfect and study what they originally created, they need to collect more of the listed plants.
