Nightmares Are Born From These....

With extensive research done over the course of six months on the black orchid plant hidden deep in the forests of Anaxes at the Thorn of the Black Rose, it had been concluded unanimously that the plant was ready for the second phase of trails; the combining of the black rose with other known poisonous plants.
The goal was to find the right combination and mixture that could be utilized with Sith Alchemy to create biological weapons; mainly the black orchid virus. Several samples of plant species were brought in and tested with the black orchid plant and Sith Alchemy. The process was delicate due to the aggressive nature of the black orchid plant. Through trial and error, and many unsuccessful attempts in the beginning, a list was compiled of which plants could be used in accordance with the orchid plant.
First on the list was the Arool cactus found on the planet of Ithor. The plant by itself was only deadly to humans, known to cause the respiratory system to shut down resulting in death in only a couple of days if left untreated. When introduced to the black orchid plant, the effects were heightened causing death in less than thirty hours.
Second on the list was the Darkkonin plant of Gorsh. Initially the plant was harmless but it was it's berries that bore the poisonous application. The berries when ingested released an acidic compound that literally began to poison the insides of the one that ate them; death was sure to occur within eight hours. The berries mixed with the black orchid produced a far more horrifying result, it could literally devour the lining of the intestines resulting in violent convulsions and madness, leading to brain aneurysms and finally death.
The third plant came from Dagobah or Hoth and was only classified as a Deadly Plant according the records and archives. The scientists at the lab designated the name aigéadbane. The plant was fatal to humans and all species but it also could shoot out gland-like acid from it's leaves and stalks. Alone the plant could only claim victims after a seventy-two hour period. But when combined with the black orchid, it literally ate the flesh away.
The fourth and final plant was Stingwort. Native to Dronger, the plant could infect any species with physical pain for days. Left unchecked, or in extreme cases, it could lead to anaphylactic shock or even death. When mixed with the black orchid, it attacked the central nervous system and the respiratory system; death was instantaneous.
When all five where combined and sprinkled with Sith Alchemy, death was absolute. But the dead didn't stay dead, they rose. Unfortunately, the test subject was destroyed. Also, all their specimens had been exhausted; so in order to perfect and study what they originally created, they need to collect more of the listed plants.

While not a full researcher herself Darth Raven was present for much of the development of the Black Orchid Virus. It's entire structure and capabilites were something to behold, especially for being the first of it's kind. And given it's uses against enemies of the Sith and Sisterhood in-general of course she wanted it to be at it's peak. But as [member="Darth Venefica"] had surmized it still needed more. Being the first to volunteer Darth Raven agreed to go out with a handful of troops and secure these plants. The first on her list was, of course, the first on the list: Arool. Knowing the effects it had on humans Raven made it a priority to bring alien troops with her while questing for it. She knew better than to just throw as many at it as possible before it eventually stopped, and they needed the plant at it's highest potecy if the virus was to be fully completed. Enough resources were gathered and a small transport made ready, Raven docking with her gathered force to head for Ithor and ad handle collection. She'd brought the list with her as well, in case the task fell on her to collect more. Not that she was opposed to it, though she may have had to make a few pit-stops along the way before heading to the next and on.

The research center was an amazing place as Seras stood there looking towards the woman. The work at Al-Khali was dedicated to studying this virus and its effects which saddened her but there were many other things she could think of now. Slowly seras had what she wanted though and slid one of the canisters into her armors arm while she was tapping the thorn. Her name for the sisters hoods symbols with its blood poisoning effects and ability to slid on a finger. Perfect class ten grade armor against papercuts and she was almost certain it could screw with mandalorians armor getting into those joints and piercing. "If you would like dear sister there are my research notes from Al-Khali, we have a dedicated facility to study what you want."

Darth Timoris

To err is human, to forgive divine. And I'm no god
In so many ways this work was foreign to Melori but she was forcing herself to become more accustomed. Like her new title. It felt right, but she kept referring to herself by her former name and knew it was a habit she'd have to break soon.

And as her ambition was unbounded, she knew that she needed to have a far greater understanding of the One Sith juggernaut that was so much more than a one on one duel. Kill a Jedi and you reduce your enemies by one. Turn a politician and you could sway thousands of people. But this virus had the potential to avoid all the possibilities and maybes and deliver a far-reaching solution in one easy application. Now that was fear!

So she reviewed the data available in case her Master quizzed her. They were about to enter the second phase of trials. Even a layperson could understand that the goal was simple. To create a cocktail of active ingredients that could allow them to create the perfect toxin. It would never wipe out an entire planet - but used locally could provide a much needed boost to clearing stubborn resistance.

And she looked at the likely itinerary. Ithor,Gorsh,Dagobah or Hoth and Dronger. One she'd been too, the rest were just names from a star chart. So she waited for the call to move out - clearly Ithor would be first to be visited, so she started to read up on what they were likely to face.

There was no more preparation that needed to be done. Either they had enough research data, compiled lists of locations for the plants, enough supplies both medical and survival, and enough troops to help ward off any threat that faced them; or they did not. Darth Venefica, like most Sith, did not believe there was a middle solution. Success and failure were the only two options she understood. However, she had long ago learned that even failure could lead to success, so instead of ranting and raving or going all tantrum over a failure, she simply took two steps back, observed the reason why, and stepped forward and corrected the problem.
"Each and everyone of you here today understand the magnitude of what we are trying accomplish," she said while standing at the entrance to one of the four shuttles assigned for this mission. "This expedition will be trying on us both physically and mentally....but the fruit we receive from the seeds is well worth the exhaustion. Today, we embark on a project that will not only reshape the galaxy to suit us....but to achieve a weapon that will install fear in the hearts of every species. Planets and governments will fall to use without a single shot fired. And if they refuse to see reason....well....then they will surely see horror and fear."
Spinning on her heels, she entered the shuttle taking a seat in the passenger's section. Ithor was there first destination. The Ithorians held to strong beliefs that the surface of the planet was sacred, hence the construction of floating cities. She knew that the alien species would not be thrilled to discover that outsiders, especially Sith outsiders, would be trampling along hallowed ground. But if they felt strong enough in their convictions, then let them attempt to discard the expedition team from their planet. The Covenant of the Black Rose were always in need of test subjects.

There was a look at the sisters and Seras entered the ship. She knew the value of what they were doing and what it could do as she was smiling under her face mask more then anything. She was not certain what the warm feeling in her chest was... she'd describe it as some form of emotion... but looking at Venefica she felt nothing, her idea of using the sickness to eliminate freedom and choice, of washing over worlds with it and allowing the fear to soak into the minds of the ones there. She was happy to see it... actually happy as opposed to her usual apathetic. "Should be fun." Was all she needed entering and taking a seat while she looked forward with her attentions towards the others in the ship with them.

Bioweapons had long been a subject of fascination on the part of Sumiko, though she was no scientist. The same applied to the dark, forbidden arts of necromancy and alchemy. When the come came together in a blend of science and dark magicks, the result was...beautiful. At least from the perspective of a presumably somewhat sociopathic ex-Inquisitor who admittedly had some rather morbidt tastes.

Once upon a time the Galactic Empire - the true one, not the endless list of pretenders and successor states who tried to chase old glory but somehow always crumbled into a pile of ash - had sought to harness the power of the black orchid for the purpose of creating a bioweapon, drawing upon the work of ancient Sith Lords. The result? An infectious viral agent that transformed its victims into zombies. Plenty of carnage and violence had ensued. The undead were notoriously difficult to control, unsurprisingly.

Sumiko had studied the project from a theoretical perspective during her time in the Inquisition and whilst infiltrating the Bando Gora, who had been made enough to believe purging the Galaxy of life would be pleasing to their Dark Gods. No surprise they had been wiped out...though, much like cockroaches, they kept coming back!

And so she found herself aboard the shuttle that would take the Sisters of the Black Rose to their first destination: Ithor. Land of annoying, pacifist aliens who took ages to finish a sentence. No, Sumiko was not xenophobic at all. Amusingly, Sumiko had been one of the agents assigned to security when Emperor Kahoshi attended the conference to sign the Ithor Treaty. This might have been the moment to get nostalgic about the good old days...but she was quite happy about the Atrisian Empire going under! Through its collapse, her chains had been broken. The Force had set her free. Eyes briefly fell upon the other...well, she should probably call them Sisters, though she was not feeling that close yet! However, they were an interesting bunch, to be sure, and the project at hand caused her to experience a feeling that could be accurately called excitement!

Removing a stray lock of her dark hair from her face, she studied information on a datapad, reading up on their itinerary and then some info on the Arool cactus. Its effects sounded...beautiful. They would be even lovelier if combined with the other plants, producing a potent and dangerous cocktail. Who knew, maybe they could even make zombies who had some brains, as risky as that probably was!
