NFU rank tiers - thoughts?

So the Mandos made Initiate/Rally Master/Field Marshal as their NFU equivalents to force ranks. I want to be sure NFU-type action gets the respect it deserves in this faction. Thinking about doing the same. Recruit/Journeyman/Blooded/something or other? These ranks would be IC but would be separate from whatever other IC ranks you have in the Underground, if any. Measure of skill and commitment and yadda yadda. Forcers could probably earn them too like with the Man do ranks. Forgive my brevity - on the phone.

Anyone got suggestions for what to call them, while I mull it over?

Are we trying to keep it non-pirate-y? Military? Civi? Pirate?

Something like: Lt. -> Captain -> Commander?

Or like: Deckhand -> Crewman -> Officer

or....

Greenhorn -> Spacer -> Something that means old spacer.

I'd want to do it more like the last example than the first - I don't want people to be constrained into roles by them like in the Mando titles. New Blood, Journeyman, Veteran maybe? Hm.

Definitely New Blood for beginners. I like that. Journeyman I like, but I feel like Spacer. As for the third one I'm fine because I aim got nothing.

I like Spacer, New Blood seems a little too downplaying the new folks though. I never liked the Mandos using 'Initiate' for the same reason. But that's just me... Maybe 'Spacer' - 'Vigilante' - 'Rebel Actual'? The last one being a play on words of the station? Just throwing it out there

I like all of these ideas.

Since this is not really a military organization or anything, something not so formal would be better. Thinking along the lines of

Trainee > Journeymen > Ranger/Spacer

Kind of like the Ranger one...... What?! Reading a rather interesting book about Rangers from a fictional book series..... No it's not meant for middleschool kids.... I'm gonna stop talking.

I have gone over this a bit and I have read through the FAQ a few times trying to find something there that stands out as an option for what ranks could work. since this is as much a rebellious cell structured organization as it is anything I see it as the sort of place that would operate like that.

One cell wouldn't know all of the other cells, while there would be a handler that would be in charge of keeping contact with multiple groups to ensure that their goals worked towards a common end.

So here's my idea

Spacer > Middleman > Trusted


Spacers are the new guys that are doing the simple tasks and jobs, keeping the Underground going.

Middlemen facilitate the operations, they are the ones that coordinate between the new guys and the old.

Trusted are just that, there's the ones that have proven they are willing to fight, and /or die for the cause and are part of the inner circle because of it.

Just my two cents, heck I'm still so new I'm not even sure I'd get a title yet.

How about different playing cards as NFU there is many path that one could take them on.

If its gathering infromation what about Heart of Jacks, Heart of Queen or King,or just the suits themselves.

Ace of spades, Heart of .... , Club of ... Diamond each one being a different level to achieve..
