Next Dominion after O'reen

We are outgunned, outmanned, and have less space in which we can retreat and reorganize. I may not be one that is suited best for tactics and strategy, but would it not be on our best terms to subvert the Republic, attempt to make conflict spark between them and their neighbors while we sit on the sidelines for a better time in which to stealthily nab some neutral planets.

The Republic and the Sith Empire are going to war against each other. And the Omega Protectorate is on life support - it is a space-filling empire, but does not have the capacity let alone the manpower to maintain it.

Then, should we abuse their overexertion? No matter, there will always be a group of people that desire more power, more control, or simply more freedom, and I doubt the Protectorate does not have such individuals. All we would have to do is identify this persons and hold a little talk, if you will. Inflate their egos, make them out to be more important and worthy than they really are, promise them aid and autonomy, and then reap the benefits.

We could possibly have the Protectorate destroy itself from the inside out, and all we would have to do is support one of the combatants and get them indebted to us. In the end, they will either be weak enough for us to walk over and conquer, or willing enough to become our puppet state in return for protection.

We need to stop the Dominion from taking control of Chiss space, as it rightfully belongs to us. Is there any way we can subvert their attempts on Sharb?

We can start our own dominion of Sharb, then the first faction to hit 100 posts would win the planet. The other option is offering to join their dominion (dominions are invite only if your not part of the faction Garith) as opposition. It would guarantee their victory at 100 posts, even if we wrecked the planet in the process.

Then I say we start our own dominion. Since they don't have the membership, I think we can beat them.

Actually I would like to see us take a friendly approach and extend a hand of friendship OOC wise to have future rps with them. How about we strike up the conversation with them? We could be from a story perspective not be ready to defend Sharb. This will open the opportunity to a story line possibility with the Dominion. Such an action would invoke the possibility of war if they did not retreat from the planet and open up the possibilities of more than one rps in the future having conflict with them. Political threads, cloak and dagger threads, maybe some skirmishes, and the possibility of large scale battles.

If we just start a speed rp and bowl them over with activity it could be viewed as bad form.

It could be seen as bad form, but the rules are like that specifically to create tension between factions. This is Star Wars after all, but I do get your point.

I'm all for doing what the majority of the faction want.

I to will go with what the faction have decided. So what will it be out of our choices?

Garith makes some valid points, and I like them. I like the idea of creating an IC storyline to take Sharb, rather than speed dominions and speed invasion. And if we as a faction decide that is whats best, then I say we go for it.

However their choice of Sharb is a bit off, They could have made a move on a more important planet in the New Territories like Adumar, or the expansion rim like Iridonia. With the mando's activity low, and the republic focusing efforts on the Sith, this region is a better choice. But instead, they Dominion a planet close to our borders and that will cut us off from the Redoubt Cluster.

This along with other factions, especially the Republic, Sith, and TLotF preparing mass takeovers may force our hand to act quickly, rather then for the benefit of the story line.

Give me Mister Taft and enough resources to truly begin my work.

Should the Republic attempt to assault our borders, @[member="Joseph Taft"] and myself can hold them, or slow them down at the very least.

We may become... unpopular on those worlds in question, but they will hold long enough for support.

As for future Dominions, I shall be more than happy to partake, though my methods tend to be viewed with a fair amount of... worry...

Another possibility, instead of Atir use @[member="Somarae"]'s plot idea for Schesa. It would secure most of the chiss planets, except for probably Sharb. We can wait on Sharb, perhaps invade if if the Dominion does manage to take it. Or we can move onto the Redoubt cluster or whatever else.

I say we speed dominion the planets all the way up to Schesa and cement our hold on Chiss space before MnechDom gets it and becomes a permanent thorn in our side.

If we claim the space before they do, it gives us territory, security and more room to stand. Even if we go right UP to the planet before Schesa. I say we hit that. Hard and fast.

We only need 100 posts for Schesa and it should give us everything in a direct line to it regardless. So long as we keep activity up it doesn't matter too much what style of take over it is, admittedly. (I'm not terribly worried about the Dominion since they've managed four posts in a week and haven't done anything in two days).

We should be prepared for their resistance, though.
If we're going to successfully take Schesa we're going to need to be fast.
