New Cov/Jedi Temple
Morning/Sunny

With Eleven... Elryn... well on his way to becoming a full fledged Knight soon, Yenna figured that it was a good time to start teaching someone else who needed it. As heart-breaking as it is to see her boy growing up and becoming his own person, it was the way of the Jedi to keep teaching the next generation. She might be able to live for a few more centuries on paper, but there was nothing stopping her from suddenly dying in a speeder crash or a fight against the enemies of the Galay... teaching the new generation was the way forward. She needed to make good use of these centuries she still had.

That was why, when she took note of a young man needing a master, she immediately put her name forward and reached out to meet him. And what better place to meet a new Padawan than in an ancient temple given new life? In the training yard, Yenna's lightsaber was in her hand as she calmly went through her forms, eyes closed and mind open to the Force. Like water, she flowed, twisted and twirled with elegant grace topped off with liquid breakfast, though she made sure to not get plastered before meeting him, last time she nearly drove Elryn off with her breath and bad hygiene... in her defense, she was wallowing in borderline suicidal depression at that point.

Feeling the boy's presence draw closer, a smile formed along her face as she continued with her forms, lightsaber twirling gently in her grasp.

A Jedi Knight had shown interest.
For years, Kyell had been traveling from one Temple to another to attend classes and pick up whatever he could from the occasional private lesson he could get. But he had never once created true chemistry with a Knight or sparked interest enough for them to offer him a place as their Padawan. Of course, today wasn't guaranteed to end with him finally finding a Master, but the chance it would happen felt significant enough to get the young man really excited.
So in an attempt to impress, he had gotten himself ready in his jumpsuit, strapped his lightsaber to his belt, and made his way over to the training ring as quickly as possible. The last thing he wanted was to keep the Jedi Knight waiting.
When Kyell finally arrived at the training area, he watched with widened eyes as the woman continued through her training routine. As a very average duelist, he was always impressed when Jedi Knights were displaying their skill — it was a combination of rigorous training but also vast experience.
But it also sparked some nervousness... should he just wait here or interrupt? He couldn't exactly speak up and a telepathic message without any prior warning seemed rude. So he just stood there, posture straight and hands clasped behind him, and waited for her to finish her training drills.
He was excited though, and those emotions freely flowed through the Force.

When the little green Jedi finally finished with her forms, she extinguished her lightsaber and clipped it to her belt as she turned to face him with a smile. "Come closer, you can." She commented as she stepped out of the ring and summoned a bottle of water to her hand, taking a long sip from it. "To meet you, a pleasure it is, Kyell. Yenna, my name is." She introduced herself with a bow.

Her golden gaze remained on him for a moment as she studied him. "Different, you are..." She muttered, walking up to him as she held onto her bottle of water. "Come on. Very important, breakfast is." She casually led the way back into the temple as she looked up at him. "So, Kyell, a master, have you had before?" She asked as they arrived at the cafeteria. Without skipping a beat, Yenna hopped onto the counter to fetch a plate and start stacking up a disproportionate amount of food for her small stature before she picked a seat for them to talk... or however he interacted, in his case. She didn't have much to read up about him, but one aspect she was curious about was his lack of talking. She could feel the difference in him compared to others.

"Rusty, I am, with training a new padawan. But very excited, I am. Teach you something useful, I hope I will be able to." She snickered before digging into her pile of food.

"Come closer, you can."
Kyell blinked and did as she asked, but he couldn't help but think about something... did she know he was a mute? To talk telepathically required him to form a bridge between their minds, and for some reason, it always felt a little much to do, especially when people didn't quite know it was his only way of communicating with them.
Well, outside of using datapads or sign language, anyway.
<T> "It's a pleasure to meet you, Master Yenna," Kyell replied. At the same time, he bowed deeply to show his respect, <T> "I'm sorry if the telepathy is inconvenient, but I can't speak." he flashed her a slightly embarrassed smile but it faded when she looked at him and continued to speak. There was just something about the woman that made him feel at ease.
His head then dipped to show his agreement about getting breakfast, and while they walked there, he shook his head again quickly, <T> "Never had a Master. I just attend classes and try to figure things out myself." he answered in honesty. It wasn't something he felt upset about anymore, really. But the idea of finally getting an actual Master was exciting.
The young man then began to chuckle when Yenna just straight up jumped on the counter, but he wasn't going to comment on it. He just grabbed his own food and joined her at the table.
<T> "I'm excited as well, Master. It has been difficult to... progress. I'd be very grateful if you could teach me more."

A bright smile met the boy's gaze as Yenna looked up at him. "Perfectly fine, telepathy is. Like you, another master, I know. Talk, she can't either." She admitted. "Quite used to it, I am." She projected telepathically as she walked with him. She knew about his condition, both through the Force as well as his files. It simply added to her curiousity about him.

With them both seated at a table, Yenna took her time to answer as she dug into her tall plate of food for a moment. She only looked up at him after swallowing a mouthful and washing it down from a sip of her canteen. "Believe that, I can. Well, worry, you no longer have to. Some plans for us, I already have!" She reassured him with a bright grin, gesturing to his food. "Eat up." she instructed, returning to her own meal.

A few more sips from her flask as she sat back and finished up her breakfast. "Say, Kyell, with archaeology, do you have, how much experience?" She asked him simply. "Some books, I am working on. To record various cultures. On Teth, an ancient order used to exist. Some records, according to, a Jedi outpost used to be there too. For a first lesson, go visit the planet, I figured we can." From the happy tone in her voice, she didn't seem bothered in the least over what his answer would be. She was dead set on going.

"Oh, uh... some gear, we will need. On the planet, a few dangerous creatures live. Quite exciting, this trip will be." She flashed a wink as she sat back in her seat, her eyes barely clearing the table as she looked up at him.

He had never met a Jedi who was difficult about him not being able to speak — they were always kind, helpful, and worked with him to still be able to communicate in some way. But still, the reassurance from the Jedi Knight really helped him feel more comfortable already. Especially when she talked telepathically to him, he felt-
Wait, is she drinking booze?
Kyell thought after he watched the woman dig into her food and wash it away with a swing from her canteen. Normally, he would have thought nothing of it, but there was this strange smell and he just knew that it wasn't water. His thoughts were quickly interrupted, however, as she spoke about some plans, and nudged him to eat as well.
<T> "Archeology? I don't have much experience with anything, I'm afraid. But I've read a lot of books in the archives..." he admitted, which wasn't something to really be ashamed of as a Jedi if it weren't for the fact that he used to basically lock himself up within the archives while other Padawans were doing more exciting things. Reading didn't require him to speak, so it was just easier.
After a few bites of his meal, he looked up and he seemed to share her excitement, <T> "You'd like to take me on a mission? I... would love that!" he began to grin and ate a lot faster for a moment as if that would help get thing going quicker. The only mission he had been on was the battle on Empress Teta unless that little trip with Ara counted as one.
<T> "What kind of gear will we need? I only have my lightsaber and clothes. But I'm sure I can talk to the quartermaster and get us anything else we need." he then paused and looked at Yenna for a moment, "I'm very excited to go on this trip, Master. I've been waiting a long time for the opportunity."

Yenna was brimming with excitement over the prospect of taking him along on a trip, it has been a while since she had the opportunity to go on an expedition again. Not to mention that it would be a good exercise for Kyell as well. "A problem, gear won't be. Very familiar with me, the quartermaster is. In the past, in many expeditions, I have been." She got up and hopped off her seat once he was done with his breakfast.

"At the end of the day... all you need, your lightsaber is." She continued before hopping onto his shoulder. "To the quartermaster, let us go. And then, a ship we can get."

After a bit of running around, getting the right equipment and packing for the trip, Yenna organized a ship for them and soon they were off, with her in the pilot's seat despite the astromech droid doing the flying. "Never right, the controls are. Years, it has been, since I piloted a ship." She commented as she drowned in the comparatively oversized seat.

The trip itself didn't take too long, though the landing was a bit further than she would have preferred. Unfortunately, there was nothing to be done about that with all of the vegetation on the planet. With a small backpack on her back, she pulled up her hood and marched out of the ship. "The Jedi outpost, we can look for first. A long while, the temple will take." She studied a hologram of the locations for a moment as she walked, before glancing over to Kyell.

"Also... asking, if you don't mind me... on Empress Teta, I heard you were. On there, what happened?" She asked him cautiously.
