Private New Tricks

Here she had to take a left, and...

The way to the training dojo was the first location within Peace that Nylea learned by heart. She was very often found there on days off, practicing her bladework and martial arts. It was something she found a lot of satisfaction in and it helped with keeping up a steady routine. Adjusting to the new environment that was Peace had her a little scatterbrained at times, but creating a routine was the best way to combat that.

Today, however, her training session was going to be looking a little different from normal. The echani had asked Jedi master Morga to teach her defensive combat techniques and he agreed, which was the reason Nylea had made her way to the dojo. The woman wore traditional robes and had her hair tied up in a bun like she always did when training, the only time when she didn't had her hair loose.

As the door slid open and she stepped inside she looked around to see if he had arrived already. The dojo was nearly empty with only a few pairs present, paying Nylea little mind as they were occupied with sparring or learning techniques. It seemed that master Morga hadn't arrived yet, though, so instead she planted her back against the wall and began spectating two Jedi who where sparring.

Wyatt had been busy with various Jedi matters - and was nearly late to his appointment with Nylea. Between the refugees, and the political mingling he was now expected to involve himself with; Wyatt had become a hot commodity in the Core and elsewhere - something he couldn’t help but scorn himself for. He wasn’t ever truly one for the front of things, but it had become his newest habit - self-destructive as it was to his central peace.
The door opened as he entered, though he didn’t wear the usual robes and cloak of a Master; more so something a bit tighter fitting, a training garb he often utilized when practicing with more proficient members of the Order; compared to the likes of Padawans who simply needed to learn the safety of the blade.
Nylea caught his eye and he smiled from across the mat before walking forward to her. His voice broke into her concentration on the others, and his eyes moved to see where she was looking;
See anything that interests you?”, he asked quietly as he watched the two practice Ataru.

"I have been a practitioner of the blade for much longer than I have been a Jedi," Nylea responded as her head turned from the sparring match to her teacher for the day. By the time she was introduced to the workings of the Force her vibroblade was replaced with a lightsaber, but the adjustments to her technique were only minor. The woman was quite experienced in that regard, but throughout the years she had always struggled with utilizing the Force mid-combat.

"Though, I tend to struggle with bringing together the Force and the lightsaber, if that makes any sense. When I try to channel the Force, I too often leave open an easy angle of attack," she explained. This was the reason why she had asked for the training session. With a few pointers the echani would hopefully be able to work on that weakness over time. It would never become her strong suit, though that didn't mean she couldn't improve her ability to channel the Force mid-combat whatsoever.

"I was hoping you could help me find where I, well, mess up, for lack of a better term."

Wyatt considered her words, before nodding slowly. He motioned to an empty mat, and began to walk - implying she should follow. When they got there, he picked up two training sabers, and tossed her one of them as he spoke;
The Force takes immense concentration, and the more complex the power, the more concentration required. It is taxing to say the least, but something a few have perfected. Though, your mind can only process so much… That’s why most choose one or the other to be a Master of - since it’s difficult for both.”, he mused.
Though, there is nothing stopping you from simply doing better.”, he encouraged with a smile.
Tell me, what do you usually try and do with the Force in combat?”, The Grand Master asked with a cock of his brow, slowly raising the blade into Shii-Cho stance - good for training, simple enough to be recognizable by almost everyone.
Or show me.”, he mused.
