OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • City Name: New Shri-Tal
  • Classification: Urban Center
  • Location: Frisal
  • Affiliation: Atrisian Commonwealth, The First Order
  • Demographics: Atrisian Human majority, Herglic minority, meager population of other spacefaring races (Twi'lek, Duros, other humans, etc)
  • Wealth: Medium. Frisal's economy is sustained by tourism. Most employment across the city is tied to the tourism industry, ranging from low income janitorial staff to realtors moving multi-billion credit properties.
  • Stability: Medium. Politics and the economy are still in the process of normalizing following the collapse of the Galactic Alliance and the arrival of the First Order.
  • Description: A resort town since the era of the Galactic Empire, the name of the city has changed several times over the centuries as geo-political economics drove the city to either popular success or abandoned failure. The current Atrisian government is working to rebuild the tourism industry of Frisal, using the Sith Empire evacuation of Atrisian ex-patriots from Shri-Tal to fuel a new immigration boom that it hopes will source labor for a revived tourism bureau.

  • The Alibi Room. A private club offering an exclusive five-star dining experience with live entertainment drawn from across the galaxy, the Alibi Room is known for catering to the social elite. Reservations are a must, though exceptions are routinely made for moffs and planetary dignitaries. Known for their crepes malreaux, crab rotoven, and lobster bisellian.
  • Shrine of Kooroo. Located on a sand bar just off shore, the shrine is approachable by foot except for during high tide.

SECURITY
Low. The Atrisian Self-Defense Forces maintains a presence on the planet, with the Atrisian Royal Corps functioning as a nationalized police force, but stay inside of their neighborhood koban police boxes and do not actively patrol the city streets. Local crime bosses tend to be self-policing, so not to invite the First Order Security Bureau to take more than a passing interest in the comings and going on the planet. Those who violate the law, particularly with regard to the casinos, are going to face more of a threat from the yakuza mafia dons than they are the police.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Early in its history, the Atrisian Empire settled the world of Frisal as a resort world. Temperate, picturesque, and featuring pristine oceans, the fact that the world was unoccupied by any native sentience species is a mystery. Ruins of some early civilization exist across the planet, such as the Shrine of Kooroo that is present here, but no definitive archaeological evidence or explanation of a civilization existing on Frisal prior to Atrisian colonization has ever presented itself.

The name of the present city was originally Dao Ben, from its founding circa 5,000 BBY to the dawn of the New Order, when it was renamed Vistal. The city became abandoned during the Gulag Plague, revived temporarily under the Atrisian Empire of Emperor [member="Akio Kahoshi"], who returned it to the original name of Dao Ben. During the rule of the One Sith, the name changed again to honor the Sith-installed Emperor [member="Mythos"], being dubbed Mythatten.

Following the collapse of the One Sith Empire and the devastation of the Atrisian Sector as the forces of Emperor Mythos battled the Galactic Alliance, the city once again became abandoned throughout the period that Atrisia was a member world of the Alliance. Following the collapse of the Alliance, however, the reconstructed Atrisia looked at how it might rebuild its tourism industry.

With the evacuation of Atrisian ex-patriots from Shri-Tal, a move coordinated with the Sith Empire, the Atrisian government supplied a ready source of labor to the available housing that the abandoned city provided. Re-naming the city as New Shri-Tal, the Atrisian government works to try and revitalize its public image to better cater to its First Order imperial overlords.
