Greetings Primeval member base!

I would like to start a discussion with all of you on a very important topic in a very relaxed manner. Just a few simple question to consider that you don't necessarily have to respond to, but your opinions and goals here are valued and heard!

So far, as a New Members Admin, I haven't done much in the means of improving the culture around here, other than perhaps being one of the first people you meet here other than perhaps, Anja. Soon, that is going to change, but first, we need to get an idea of exactly how that change is going to be executed.

• In the eyes of you, as a new member, what experience do you seek to obtain from being a part of the Primeval?
• In the eyes of you, as a new member, is something that you would like to know directly upon arrival?

I'm going to take the initiative to formulate the first response! After all, before moderator and then subsequently adminship, I had to be first a new member around here So here is what I would answer, as if I were myself several months ago as a new member:

• In the eyes of you, as a new member, browsing through the information on this faction, what would you says is its primary OOC or IC goals, either short term or long term?"
  "I would say that the primary OOC objective here is to expand as much as possible and become a Galactic Eastern Superpower, while exploring a complicated and diasporic religion. IC is pretty much the same."

[*]In the eyes of you, as a new member, what experience do you seek to obtain from being a part of the Primeval?

• "I would say that I am seeking to experience a means of being able to explore the more bureaucratic and backstage politics of a zealous religion that exploits its own people. And also being a zeal-full blood thirsty warlord carving a path of death through the galaxy."

[*]In the eyes of you, as a new member, is something that you would like to know directly upon arrival?

• "Personally, I would like a more transparent staff. Obviously they talk to us through announcements, however it is irritating to me as a member when I can see that the staff is occasionally talking about stuff in a secret forum, but being unable to even view or access what they are discussing. Also, probably a handbook on the religion itself would be nice."

I think, knowing the little that I know it seems like a religious faction, that intends on carving out a very large piece of the map as their own.( both ooc and ic )

In the eyes of you, as a new member, what experience do you seek to obtain from being a part of the Primeval?

I am looking for have fun and tell some great stories(ooc)
from an IC standpoint I want to progress my character not just in power but in complexity as well. I want character development and progress but also to play on his abilities and show that power is often balanced by the depths of one's flaws.

In the eyes of you, as a new member, is something that you would like to know directly upon arrival?

Perhaps a bit more of a comprehensive guide to the factions religious beliefs and backgrounds. I'm too new to really know if there is anything else that the faction needs.

In the eyes of you, as a new member, browsing through the information on this faction, what would you says is its primary OOC or IC goals, either short term or long term?

Zambrano, you pretty much summed up my own thoughts on this. I think the main OOC goal would, in addition to what you said, be to provide members with a new and unique style of roleplaying and provide a fresh new perspective on a part of the Star Wars universe.

In the eyes of you, as a new member, what experience do you seek to obtain from being a part of the Primeval?

I would say that I wish, above all else, to make a few good friends here and have fun creating new stories and find memories with them as we go. In character however, Venris would mainly seek to obtain knowledge and experience from the Primeval while trying to not lose himself in their ways.

In the eyes of you, as a new member, is something that you would like to know directly upon arrival?

I guess I'd be interested in knowing the hierarchy of ranks in the faction and some of the main activities that the Primeval partakes in IC.

In the eyes of you, as a new member, browsing through the information on this faction, what would you says is its primary OOC or IC goals, either short term or long term?
We bring influences and our own ideas with us obviously. When I first looked at the Primeval faction, what drew me to it were the parallels that I perceived to the Ori from StarGate, or the Kinshaya from Star Trek (novels). The proliferation of religion is what I would see as the primary goal of the Primeval, in which the expansion/consolidation of galactic power is just one piece of the larger goal. It's essentially the same thing as what you wrote in your response, just from a slightly different perspective. I'd perceive that the goal is to convert the entire galaxy to the Primeval religion -- as a consequence of which, the Primeval (Host Lord and Prophet) would then control the galaxy akin to Emperor Palpatine.

tl;dr: I see it as half Galactic Empire and half Ori (StarGate).

In the eyes of you, as a new member, what experience do you seek to obtain from being a part of the Primeval?
The anti-villain (as opposed to the anti-hero). An exploration of the Dark Side that stays true to a portrayal of Lawful Evil that can fully develop an "evil" character beyond a mere two-dimensional interpretation of evil. By that, I mean from Boo's perspective he's not doing anything bad. In fact, he thinks that he's doing good. So the experience that I seek would just be stories and opportunities that would allow me to explore the Primeval religion and how the worship of that would lend itself to a character who is "evil for all the right reasons".

In the eyes of you, as a new member, is something that you would like to know directly upon arrival?
I was proactive about creating Boo's Thread for Stupid Questions, and you guys have been fantastic about giving me a good balance of direction and latitude with regard to creating things for Boo's worship. A little bit more information about the mechanics of the religion would be nice. We know the names of the gods and their genders, a general sense of how they fit in a pantheon, but that's really it. I've been winging a lot of things about terminology (reclamation instead of revival, etc.)
