GENERAL INFORMATION

Name:
New Kiev'arians
Designation:
Sentient
Origins:
Kiev'ara (Post-Restoration)

The New Kiev'arians originate from a mass resurrection event conducted on the ruins of Kiev'ara following the planet's rediscovery. Unlike natural reproduction or divine reconstitution, the species was restored through a deliberate, controlled process combining cloning technology and metaphysical soul transfer.

Under the direction of Laphisto, and with the assistance of Diarch Rellik and Lyssera, new Kiev'arian bodies were grown using cloned genetic templates derived from preserved biological material and surviving genetic records. These bodies were biologically complete but metaphysically inert deliberately created without preexisting consciousness, Force imprint, or divine bindings.

The souls of the fallen True Kiev'arians, preserved within Fire Tears since the planet's destruction, were then transferred into these cloned bodies. This process reanchored each soul to a living form, restoring memory, identity, and continuity of self while severing the original harvest-dependent systems imposed by Dra'ko and Saurav'ix.

Though physically similar to their predecessors, the New Kiev'arians are not recreations of the old design. The resurrection process intentionally altered their metaphysical architecture, allowing them to exist independently of divine extraction cycles, enforced saturation thresholds, or externally imposed lifespan limits. As a result, the New Kiev'arians represent a reborn species rooted in the souls of the past, housed in newly forged bodies, and freed from the systems that once defined and consumed them.

Average Lifespan:
Long-lived
Average: 700–900 standard years
Exceptional individuals may naturally exceed 1,000 years.

The New Kiev'arians possess a natural life cycle for the first time in their history. Unlike the True Kiev'arians, whose longevity was artificially extended through divine harvesting cycles, the New Kiev'arians age gradually and predictably. Physical resilience, regenerative capability, and internal Force regulation slowly diminish over time, resulting in a natural biological death rather than extraction, saturation collapse, or external intervention. No fixed maximum lifespan is imposed; death occurs only when the body can no longer sustain equilibrium.

Estimated Population:
Rare

Estimated population: High thousands, All members have been Settled On bastion. but have been given the means to spread throughout the galaxy

The New Kiev'arian population consists primarily of resurrected individuals restored from Fire Tear–bound souls, with a very limited number of naturally born descendants. Population growth is slow due to long generational cycles, extended maturation periods, and cultural caution following extinction. The species remains vulnerable to catastrophic loss despite its revival.

Description:

The New Kiev'arians are a resurrected draconic species reborn from extinction, retaining the physical form and cultural memory of the True Kiev'arians while freed from the systems that once reduced them to divine fuel. Tall, winged, and universally Force-sensitive, they are no longer engineered as living batteries or bound to harvest cycles. Their lives now follow a natural arc, defined by growth, choice, and mortality rather than extraction and control. Though outwardly similar to their predecessors, the New Kiev'arians represent a fundamental shift in purpose: a people restored not to serve power, but to reclaim agency over their existence.

HYSICAL INFORMATION

Breathes:
Type I atmosphere (oxygen–nitrogen standard).
New Kiev'arians can tolerate a wide range of atmospheric pressures and trace contaminants but experience rapid physiological stress in Force-dead or null-Force environments regardless of atmospheric composition.

Average Height of Adults:
2.3–2.5 meters (upright, excluding horns)

Average Length of Adults:
N/A
(Overall body length varies significantly due to tail length; tails alone commonly range from 1.5–2.5 meters.)

Skin Color:
Pale to white dermal skin in non-scaled regions.
Scale coloration varies by elemental lineage and individual genetics, most commonly within green, blue, red, white, and earth-tone spectrums, with lighter ventral coloration along the torso, inner wings, and tail underside.

Hair Color:
Brown, black, blond, red.

Distinctions:

New Kiev'arians retain the semi-humanoid draconic anatomy of their predecessors, possessing tall, upright frames with reinforced skeletal density and powerful musculature optimized for both terrestrial combat and sustained flight. Their upper bodies mirror humanoid proportions but are strengthened along the shoulders, spine, and hips to support wing articulation and tail counterbalance.

Two prominent horns emerge from the skull, varying in shape, curvature, and length by lineage and individual. Horns continue to grow slowly throughout life and often show wear, scoring, or ritual modification in older individuals. Eyes are forward-facing and highly focused, adapted for depth perception and low-light environments.

Large membranous wings extend from the upper back, supported by elongated, reinforced finger bones. Fully functional from adolescence onward, these wings are capable of sustained powered flight. When folded, they rest close to the body, partially obscuring the back and shoulders. Wing membranes are richly innervated and highly sensitive, making damage both painful and tactically significant.

The lower body is digitigrade and reptilian, built for explosive strength and stability rather than endurance walking. Feet terminate in taloned toes with exceptional grip strength. A long, muscular tail extends from the base of the spine, serving as a dynamic counterbalance during movement and flight. Dorsal tail scales are thickened and often function as natural armor, tapering into reinforced ridges toward the tip.

Scale coverage is non-uniform. Dense, overlapping scales protect the limbs, spine, tail, wings, and major joints, while portions of the chest and abdomen retain smoother, skin-like texture. Scale coloration typically deepens with age, though this change is now gradual and non-destructive, reflecting natural maturation rather than forced saturation.

Sexual dimorphism is present but moderate. Females typically exhibit slimmer frames and more refined facial features, while overall musculature, physical capability, and Force sensitivity remain comparable across sexes.

Strengths

  • Stabilized Force Integration
New Kiev'arians remain inherently Force-sensitive, but their biology now includes natural regulatory systems that prevent uncontrolled accumulation. Force energy is absorbed, circulated, and dispersed safely, eliminating saturation collapse and harvest viability while allowing consistent, sustainable use throughout their lifespan.
  • Biological Fire Breathing
New Kiev'arians retain the species' iconic biological fire breathing. a secondary lung system that produces and stores volatile methane-rich compounds. These gases are expelled through the throat and ignited by specialized calcified structures known as sparking bones, embedded along the larynx. This allows for controlled exhalation of flame
  • Natural Flight and Aerial Adaptability
Powerful membranous wings grant sustained flight, vertical mobility, and three-dimensional maneuverability, New Kiev'arians retain superior aerial control compared to most sentient species, excelling in traversal, reconnaissance, and tactical positioning.
  • Enhanced Physical Capability
Dense bone structure and reinforced musculature provide above-average strength, durability, and impact resistance. New Kiev'arians are capable of powerful physical feats without reliance on Force amplification, making them resilient even in partially suppressed Force environments.
  • Force Independence in Core Physiology
Unlike their predecessors, New Kiev'arian vital systems do not collapse in the absence of the Force. While Force deprivation is uncomfortable and disorienting, basic biological function remains intact, allowing survival in Force-null or suppressed regions where True Kiev'arians would perish.
  • Improved Medical Compatibility
The hyper-aggressive immune response of the original species has been moderated. New Kiev'arians can safely benefit from bacta, stimulants, sedatives, surgery, and advanced medical treatments, dramatically increasing survivability in prolonged conflicts or off-world environments.
  • Psychological Autonomy and Resistance
Freed from engineered cultural conditioning, New Kiev'arians possess stronger resistance to domination, fatalism, and divine authority. They are less susceptible to coercion by Force entities and more capable of independent moral judgment and long-term planning.
  • Reproductive Viability and Population Recovery
New Kiev'arians possess stable reproductive capability without divine intervention or population throttling. This allows for natural generational growth, cultural evolution, and long-term species survival rather than managed extinction.
  • Lower Force Signature
Regulated Force flow prevents excessive radiance in the Force, making New Kiev'arians harder to detect, track, or target by Force-sensitive predators, artifacts, or entities compared to their True predecessors.

Weaknesses

  • Reduced Maximum Force Output
New Kiev'arians no longer possess the unlimited Force accumulation potential of their predecessors. Internal regulatory systems cap total Force saturation, preventing god-tier escalation but also limiting peak output in extreme confrontations against ancient Force entities or artifacts.
  • Loss of Force-Sustained Immortality
Unlike True Kiev'arians, New Kiev'arians experience natural aging and eventual death. While lifespans are still exceptionally long, physical resilience and Force responsiveness gradually decline with advanced age rather than intensify.
  • Metabolic Constraints on Fire Breathing
Although more efficient and sustainable, biological fire breathing now draws from finite metabolic reserves. Excessive use results in dehydration, fatigue, and temporary respiratory impairment, requiring recovery time and increased caloric intake.
  • Partial Vulnerability to Disease and Toxins
The moderated immune system allows medical compatibility but sacrifices near-total immunity. New Kiev'arians are still highly resistant to most pathogens and poisons, but extreme toxins, engineered bioweapons, or prolonged exposure can cause harm.
  • Wing Damage as a Critical Weak Point
Wings are large, sensitive, and difficult to fully protect. Damage to wing membranes or joints is extremely painful and severely limits flight capability. Healing is slow and often requires extended immobility.
  • Cultural and Psychological Dislocation
The first generations of New Kiev'arians suffer from significant cultural shock. Many retain memories of extinction, divine betrayal, and planetary death, leading to identity crises, survivor's guilt, or difficulty adapting to a modern galactic society.
  • Limited Population Base
Despite restored reproductive viability, the New Kiev'arian population remains extremely small. Losses are difficult to replace, making large-scale warfare, attritional conflict, or prolonged campaigns especially dangerous.
  • Residual Force Sensitivity Stress
Though no longer dependent on the Force for survival, prolonged exposure to heavily distorted or corrupted Force environments can cause discomfort, emotional instability, or reduced cognitive focus.
  • Regulatory Shock: In extremely Force-rich nexuses or during heavy external channeling, the regulatory pathways can overcorrect, temporarily "dampening" their Force responsiveness and causing tremors, nausea, or cognitive lag until equilibrium returns.

CULTURE

Diet

Carnivore.

New Kiev'arians are obligate carnivores, requiring high-protein and high-fat intake to sustain muscle density, wing function, and metabolic demands. Common foods include large terrestrial animals, aquatic megafauna for Water lineages, and avian or mountain prey for Air lineages. Meat is often consumed roasted or seared, both for digestibility and cultural tradition.

Plant matter provides minimal nutritional value and is largely indigestible. Fermented substances, alcohols, and chemically processed foods are generally toxic or biologically incompatible.

Communication

New Kiev'arians primarily communicate through spoken language, most commonly Draconic, a deep, consonant-heavy tongue optimized for powerful vocalization and precise breath control. While still used internally and ceremonially, Draconic is no longer the sole language of daily life.

Due to sustained interaction with the wider galaxy, most New Kiev'arians are multilingual. Galactic Basic is commonly taught alongside Draconic, particularly among diplomats, traders, and off-world residents. Additional languages are learned as needed, with no cultural stigma attached to linguistic adaptation.

Non-verbal communication remains deeply ingrained. Wing posture, tail position, horn angle, and subtle shifts in body orientation convey emotional state, intent, and social standing. In high-noise environments, vacuum-adjacent conditions, flight, or combat, these cues often replace spoken language entirely and remain an essential part of Kiev'arian communication even in technologically mediated settings.

Technology Level

Culturally Medieval, Practically Adaptive.

New Kiev'arian society retains a strong preference for traditional craftsmanship. Internally, weapons, tools, armor, and architecture emphasize forged metals, stonework, and durable, low-complexity construction rooted in pre-industrial traditions.

However, unlike their predecessors, New Kiev'arians are no longer isolated from technological advancement. Modern technology is selectively adopted where it enhances survival, medical care, transportation, or interstellar interaction. Starships, environmental systems, and communication technology are utilized pragmatically, often maintained by specialists or external partners rather than integrated wholesale into daily life.

This selective adoption is intentional. It reflects a cultural aversion to dependence on systems they cannot fully understand or control, shaped by historical exploitation. Technology is viewed as a tool, not a foundation of identity.

Religion / Beliefs

New Kiev'arian belief systems are fragmented, transitional, and deeply personal.

Some continue to acknowledge Dra'ko as a flawed but compassionate creator, reframed less as a god and more as an ancestral force tied to their origins. Others reject divine authority entirely, viewing the history of gods as a cautionary lesson rather than a source of guidance. Saurav'ix is almost universally regarded as a symbol of unchecked power, predation, and the dangers of absolutism.

Formal religion has largely given way to remembrance practices, historical record-keeping, and philosophical traditions focused on agency, balance, and responsibility. Public worship is rare. Reflection, debate, and preservation of truth are favored over ritual devotion.

The revelation that Laphisto carries the unified essence of Dra'ko and Saurav'ix is a subject of quiet unease among the New Kiev'arians. While they recognize that their restoration was only possible through this act, the memory of what the twin gods represented has left lasting scars.

Laphisto is not worshipped. He is remembered as a liberator and restorer, not a divine figure. Cultural narratives describe him as a bridge between what the Kiev'arians were and what they are now. His tale serves as a reminder of the danger inherent in absolute authority. Respect, gratitude, and caution coexist uneasily an understanding that salvation and domination can share the same source, and that vigilance is the price of survival.

General Behavior

New Kiev'arian society emphasizes autonomy, contribution, and historical awareness. Family units remain central, but social structures are more flexible than in the past, allowing individuals greater freedom in vocation, movement, and association.

Young are raised with strong cultural education that includes not only Kiev'arian history, but broader galactic context. Instruction emphasizes critical thinking, informed consent, and the recognition of power dynamics to prevent future exploitation.

The ancient prohibition against killing another Kiev'arian remains culturally binding. Internal conflict is addressed through arbitration, ritualized combat, or exile rather than lethal force, even when interacting with off-world legal systems.

In the modern galaxy, New Kiev'arians are cautious participants rather than expansionists. They engage in diplomacy, trade, and exploration selectively, prioritizing mutual respect and clear boundaries. While capable warriors and skilled hunters, they do not seek conquest. Their focus is survival, cultural preservation, and ensuring that their species' second existence is defined by choice rather than coercion.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The history of the New Kiev'arians begins not with birth, but with return.

The first generation of New Kiev'arians consists almost entirely of resurrected individuals whose souls had been sealed within Fire Tears at the moment of Kiev'ara's destruction. For most, death came during the final defense of their world. They fell fighting the Rakatan invasion, believing they were witnessing the end of their species and the failure of everything they had sworn to protect.

Their restoration was not experienced as rebirth, but as continuation. They awakened with memory, identity, and purpose intact. The terror of the final days remained, but so did resolve, loyalty, and the will to endure. For many, the realization that they had been given another chance to live was met with quiet disbelief followed by gratitude. They had not been spared suffering, but they had not been erased.

This restoration was made possible through the combined efforts of Laphisto, Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik , and Lyssara Thrynn Lyssara Thrynn .

Under Laphisto's direction, and drawing upon the unified essence of Dra'ko and Saurav'ix now bound within him, the process of resurrection was undertaken deliberately and cautiously. Rather than reconstructing the Kiev'arians exactly as they had been, Laphisto made a conscious decision to change them. He understood, through the memories of the twin gods, that the original Kiev'arian form had been engineered for exploitation rather than life.

With the technological expertise and logistical support of Diarch Rellik, and Lysyerra's guidance in soul transference and stabilization, cloned bodies were grown as living vessels. These bodies were biologically Kiev'arian in form, but redesigned to support a natural life cycle. The mechanisms that once allowed uncontrolled Force accumulation and harvest were removed or restructured. The intent was clear: this generation would live for themselves, not as fuel.

The souls of the fallen were transferred from their Fire Tears into these new forms. Identity, memory, and personality remained whole. What changed was the relationship between body, soul, and the Force. For the first time in their history, Kiev'arians existed without an imposed saturation threshold or divine extraction waiting at the end of life.

This freedom came with adjustment. Many of the first generation experienced profound physiological and cultural dissonance. Sensations that had once been constant now felt subdued. The overwhelming pressure of the Living Force that had defined their existence was replaced by a quieter, more stable equilibrium. Some described the experience as disorientation. Others likened it to finally being able to rest.

This shock did not cripple them. It grounded them. Rather than attempting immediate expansion or reclamation, the first generation focused inward. Names were recorded. Fire Tears were catalogued. Sites of final battles were marked and preserved. These acts were not expressions of mourning alone, but affirmations of continuity. They were alive, and they remembered who they were.

The role of the first generation became clear over time. They were not founders of an empire, nor restorers of a lost world as it once was. They were custodians of memory and guides for those yet to come. The second chance they had been given carried responsibility, but not obligation to repeat the past. The New Kiev'arians were rebuilt not to serve gods, cycles, or empires, but to live fully within a future of their own making.
