PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Nevira is unusual among her species for many reasons, though her appearance is usually the most obvious. Thanks to her interactions with ancient Sith archeology, she has carried some unique physical alterations not seen among regular pantorans. Her skin is a pale blue colour that dramatically darkens to a midnight shade in certain sections of her body, mainly parts of her chest and arms. Along with that, faint bioluminescent markings and symbols trace their patterns along her back and limbs, in addition to her hair being bright orange in colour. Her eyes are orange as well, with the sclerae turning yellow in hue from years of dark side corruption. For clothing, Nevira seems to favour an old black gagra choli complete with a long black veil trailing from her head, adorning similar symbols to the ones on her body. While not the most practical outfit for a field archaeologist, Nevira seems unhindered in her dangerous studies.

INVENTORY

Nevira doesn’t own much; being a wandering researcher has taught her how to pack light. Still, she does have a small starship with a mobile lab and basic travelling gear. In addition, she carries a modest blaster pistol, but for some reason rarely has to use it.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

There was a time when Nevira’s beliefs were genuine. She wanted to learn the secrets of history so that the galaxy would not repeat its mistakes. A fool’s notion. There was no way to stop the galaxy from eating itself alive. The only thing they could do was speed up the process.

Nevira is first and foremost insane. Many years of dark side influence and corruption have addled her brain, and she seems to have no desire greater than the study of old Sith magics and their technological application. To that end, nothing is too dangerous or restricting for her when it comes to advancing her knowledge. Carrying all the traits of a Sith, Nevira has learned to be manipulative, shady, cunning and downright cruel. She would gladly sacrifice a planet of innocents if it meant the advancement of her research, and she views ‘morality’ as nothing more than a stagnant beast getting in the way of true progress. Even so, Nevira knows when to show her true colours and is perfectly capable of masking her more eccentric side when duty calls, but this becomes more difficult as time passes. May the force help the poor soul that ends up on her operating table, for that’s when her truest and most malicious side reveals itself. Progress is a beautiful thing, isn’t it?

STRENGTHS

  • Relentless Visionary: Nevira’s obsession grants her terrifying focus. She will pursue knowledge others abandon, pushing Sith magic and technology into dangerous new territory without hesitation or fear.

  • Cold, Calculated Manipulator: Despite her instability, she understands people well enough to use them. She can mask her madness, play the role required, and bend allies, institutions, or entire populations toward her goals if necessary to advance her studies.

WEAKNESSES

  • Eroding Sanity: Years of dark side corruption have fractured her mind. Her grip on restraint weakens over time, making her increasingly unpredictable and prone to excess when obsession takes hold.

  • Total Moral Detachment: Her willingness to sacrifice anything for progress blinds her to consequences. This makes her vulnerable to underestimating resistance, provoking united opposition, or destroying assets she might later need.

HISTORY

Many primitive cultures in the galaxy warned about the dangers of the stars. How the sentient desire to explore and create would eventually awaken something insidious within the void. How their lust for knowledge and power would attract darker forces, and in that eternal sea of shadows, they would meet their own end at the hands of a cosmic monstrosity. Or transform into something worse.

Nevira grew up rather normally for a member of a modestly wealthy Pantoran family. With the planet being so far out of the way, she didn’t pay too much mind to the wider galaxy as a child. Instead, her desires were far more focused on the technical side of things. From a young age, Nevira became exceptionally talented in mathematics and droid construction. This hobby soon turned into her profession as she grew up to open her own little droid shop on Pantora, making a small profit, which she saved for her education.

Upon reaching adulthood, Nevira attended her city’s most prestigious university with the intention of learning more about droid design and construction. Though her story would take a dramatic turn when she decided to take some history classes on the side to earn extra credits. Nevira found herself more fascinated by galactic history than she realized, and more specifically, in the various religious orders that made use of the mystical “Force”. It was an intriguing thought for groups of people to accomplish so much without technological assistance. What would they achieve if they combined their powers with highly advanced tech? Nevira HAD to know more. So when a student expedition to a world called Aekoth was announced, Nevira was one of the first to sign up.

Nobody knows exactly what happened on that barren planet. The university doesn’t speak much of it out of respect for the victim’s families. All that is known for sure is that the bodies of every student and professor were recovered, aside from Nevira’s. Ever since the “Aekoth” incident, she has all but vanished from the galactic map. Even so, rumours and stories about a “wandering witch” or, in some cases, a “black veiled mechromancer” vaguely matching Nevira’s description pop up from time to time, but nobody has been successful in tracking down the source of these stories. The only thing linking the different tales together is one common event. Wherever this figure goes, cybernetic horror follows.
