Lily was not being a very good patient. At least, the healers were not finding her to be very cooperative.

Since the moment she had been sent to recover and get her injuries and condition treated, as well as time to recover from her ordeal, Lily had been pushing her body much further than the healers had wished for. Lily was determined to be working hard, pushing her body to the limit and get herself back in shape. She had lost too much muscle and strength. Lily was determined to regain it all to ensure that she could get back to training with her Master, Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren . Especially since she was fearful that others would be looking down at her or believing that Lily was helpless, even hapless, since she had gotten herself caught in a massive issue.

"Padawan Decoria! You shouldn't be working out right now, you are just prolonging your injuries and increasing your stay here!" The healer assigned to Lily's recovery called out.

The pain in her side was throbbing but Lily was determined to finish her rep of push-ups. She had felt her body slowly getting stronger but it wasn't 100% and Lily was infuriated with herself with how long it was taking. Lily was determined to be fighting fit as soon as possible. Hanging around the temple was already having her itching to get out, and she was desperate to prove herself once more. Make sure that she was ready to face whatever was coming her way.

"It's fine, just a stitch. You healed be a couple hours ago, need to get back into fighting shape." Lily grunted as the pain slightly increased once more.

The healer sighed, "just because your ribs are no longer fractured, does not mean you are ready to be jumping into such intense workouts. Your body is still too weak and you are threatening to break it once more." It was clear the healer was insisting that Lily attempt some kind of bedrest.

Lily finished her rep and the pain in her side was getting worse as she stood up then sat on the bed, she tried hiding the wincing and look normal. "It's fine, I know my body and it's limits." She stated through gritted teeth, unaware she had cause a new hairline fracture on the ribs that were broken.

Ever since she'd returned from Ukatis, Cora had been attending mandatory weekly visits at the Halls of Healing. It was not where the Padawan wanted to be, but she acquiesced out of necessity. An initial health screening was followed by several appointments to ensure that her body had fully healed from Horace's hands, yet the counseling sessions were still uncomfortable.

How many times a week do you have interrupted sleep? How often do you find it difficult to concentrate? How have your symptoms impacted your ability to perform daily activities?

Her eyes had glazed over each and every time she'd have to put a number to her symptoms while scrolling through the same mental health assessment form.

At least she was free for another week. Cora's path out took her along the trauma unit and down a hall of recovery rooms.

"Padawan Decoria! You shouldn't be working out right now, you are just prolonging your injuries and increasing your stay here!"

"It's fine, I know my body and it's limits."

Sounds of admonishment piqued her curiosity, and she slowed as she passed an open door. Inside was a white-haired girl…doing push ups on the floor? Stars above. One of the healers was berating her for pushing an injured body, while the girl seemed intent on continuing her exercise regimen before relenting.

"It seems as though you've pushed right through them."

The words left her lips in an even, deadpan tone that surprised Cora. Almost immediately, she pressed a hand to her mouth in surprise before shaking her head. "I'm sorry, that was quite rude of me. What I meant was, you appear to be in pain."

Stepping forward, she lingered in the doorway and took a few moments to appraise the snowy haired youth. There was something about her - something fiercely determined. But about what?

"You're…Padawan Decoria?" She sounded out, recalling how the healer had spoken. Decoria, Decoria…where did she know that name from?

"Oh, you are that child who was captured sneaking around in Mandalorian territory."

Child probably wasn't a term Lily wanted to hear, especially given they they were roughly the same age.

When he noticed that he hadn’t seen Lily for a little bit, Tobias Perris went looking. When he couldn’t find his ashen-haired friend, he asked around. People were either just as uninformed as he was, or cagey about it. Then the rumours started, and it was hard to know what to believe. Some of what he’d heard was, to his mind, outrageous.

And kinda badass.

But also stupid. Lily wasn’t an idiot. Least, not that much of an idiot. He was sure of it… but when he found the Echani’s room in the Halls of Healing, following the directions he’d been given at the entrance, some unexpected words found their way into his ears as he closed his approach:

"Oh, you are that child who was captured sneaking around in Mandalorian territory."

Child wasn’t a term he wanted to hear, either. Lily was older than him, and he wasn’t a child! He felt insulted on her behalf, which is what made his paces more resolute, walking into the room.

“That’s not…” well, no, he didn’t know whether her sneaking around was true or not, “...she’s not…!” Oh Force, who was this girl? His eyes briefly narrowed as he focused on Cora’s face, then they just as immediately widened - damn it, why did she have to be pretty? “Ah… I mean, that’s really childish of you to say.” So there.

Never mind that they were both pretty… but he shook his head free of that unproductive thought, and looked at Lily. She looked hurt, and that inspired worry in his face that competed with his expectant curiosity about the truth of her escapades. He also felt the urge to ask if she was okay, but it didn’t look like she was, so he didn’t. Doing that never really made sense to him.

“Is that what really happened, Lily?”

Lily heard the voice of a stranger, someone commenting on the fact that she had surpassed her limits. "Nah, just sore from working out several days in a row. I'll be fine in a few minutes." It was a lie, the pain was something more significant but Lily was refusing to be let down by an injury like this. She needed to be stronger and she was going to push herself to be stronger than ever before.

When called out in such a blunt fashion, Lily needed a moment to figure out a reply. Then Toby appeared and attempted to defend her before asking her if the whole thing was true. Lily couldn't answer, she promised to wait till the Council to report on the incidents and Lily was not willing to break that promise. Not since she had made it to Briana and her Master had already sacrificed a lot to ensure that Lily returned safely. Lily lowered her head, unsure how to answer them both since they didn't know the situation, no one would know the situation she was in.

"It's more complicated than that. I...I can't explain further. Not yet." Lily said in a small voice, everything that had happened and the part that Lily played in it all was still a deep level of grief and regret. "Aren't you the Padawan who killed her husband?" Lily asked in a sharp tone as she still held onto her side, she had heard plenty about Corazona.

A new face entered, a youthful boy who seemed to know Padawan Decoria personally. Cora hadn't meant to be rude with her observations, but that was definitely how she'd come across.

An arched blonde eyebrow and a sweeping look of appraisal was her response to the boy calling her childish in turn.

"Hmph."

Her gaze refocused on an injured Lily, recognizing the grief that washed over her features. It softened the hard edges of the blonde's face. Whatever Lily had been through had likely been traumatic, and Cora could understand the awkwardness of being questioned in the aftermath of something you were still trying to make sense of. Her voice dropped into something gentler; "You don't have to-"

"Aren't you the Padawan who killed her husband?"

Cora froze. How…how did this person, who she'd only just met, know such an intimate detail about her life? Only a handful of individuals knew the truth about her husband's demise, but perhaps the rumors were more pervasive than she'd anticipated. The official story had ruled Horace's death an accident, and her imprisonment and subsequent exile defined as 'a period of grieving before choosing to depart'.

"A baseless rumor purported by those who seek to besmirch my name." She scoffed, waving away the thought entirely once she'd worked through the immediately shock. "Certainly something that only a child would believe. Perhaps you would have been better off among the Mandalorians with that brutish tongue of yours."
