First Reply Never Look A Gift Tauntaun In The Mouth

Location - Coruscant

Violence. It was just part of living on Coruscant now. That was the main thought going Vennia's head as she rammed her shin into the stomach of the Aqualish knelt down on the ground in front of her. Crouching on down, she rummaged through the alien's pockets, grabbing whatever she could find. Credit chits, trinkets, whatever she thought might have had some form of value.

"I need this junk more than you do. Least you get to live, right?"

With those ever so helpful words, the woman pushed herself back up to a standing position and made her way off out of the store and into the streets, as she pulled out a datapad and her communicator. Whoever had hired her for this had some strange rule about not talking to her directly, instead using the datapad but, hey. The pay was pretty good and any goodies she found, she got to keep so, it wasn't that bad.

"Hey. So, I roughed up that Aqualish like you asked. Smashed up his store like you asked. Still not sure why you're asking me to do this stuff but..."

I - P A Y - Y O U - N O T - T O - T H I N K

"Fine, fine. Regular payment, like usual?"

N O - E X T R A - T R E A T - F A M I L Y

"Mhm. Thanks."

Whilst it might have seem like a generous gift from an outsider's perspective, Vennia knew otherwise. It was whoever her client was giving a threat. They knew about Vennia's family. They knew who to go after if she started asking questions around the streets. She ran her hand down her face in frustration, wondering what kind of mess she got herself into. Sure, the jobs had been small so far. Smash up a building over here, kick about someone over there. How long until it started to get into something extreme? Arson, murder, the rest. Someone could fix up their place if she smashed the windows in, they could recover from a beating. But to go beyond that? It wouldn't feel right.

She stuffed the datapad away in her satchel, making her way through the streets towards the local diner once she had checked her credit balance. Looks like her boss had been generous after all, and whilst Vennia could have kept the extra for herself, she was going to treat those she cared for. Even if that treat was just going to be a bunch of greasy slop from some place that just screamed health hazard. At least she could scroll on the Net whilst she waited for her turn in line.

As usual, Kiran's work and travels carried him across several locations. It was sometimes a rough job, but it paid for his life as it was right now. A traveler, usually on the move most of the time. He didn't really have much of anyone, aside from those he met during the jobs he did. But those weren't ever anything that lasted long. Just some conversation to get through the job, whether it was security, protection details, or even transporting illicit materials from one place to the next.

He had one friend at one time, but he messed that up. So he was once again alone, and it seemed to be the way of things. Which, at the current time, wasn't so bad. At least he had just gotten paid and was about to get something to eat.

He had just stepped into line to get some food when a rough looking Trandoshan moved past him, knocking him into Vennia, who was standing in front of him.

"Hey! Watch where you're going, jerk!" The Trandoshan just growled at him and continued walking. Kiran turned to her and offered his apologies.

"Sorry about that. You okay?"
