Strengths:
  • Magnetic Field: The magnetic field generated by the interlaced mag-coils is capable of deflecting blaster bolts and even lightsabers, although a precise stab can pierce the field and hit the armor and wearer directly.
Weaknesses:
  • Weight: The composition of the armored plating makes the armor rather heavy, ensuring that only physically powerful individuals can wear the armor without become over-encumbered.
  • Perpetual Pain: The mag-field causes intense agony in the wearer for as long as it's activated, forcing the wearer to activate it only when faced with an immediate threat or for as long as their pain threshold can manage.
DESCRIPTION

The Nerean Crownguard comprised eight of House Zambrano's most terrifying warriors, their only purpose in existence to guard the Emperor of the Sith and his Shadow Hand against all who would levy their weapons against them.

To fight against the enemies of the Sith Crown, they needed armor capable of going toe-to-toe with Jedi and Sith alike.

Based off of the original designs of the Neo-Imperator Sith Armor, the Nerean Crownguard Armor utilizes the same mag-coil technology as its more armored predecessor, yet lacks the ceramic armor plating. It was deemed unnecessary for the Nereans, as their duty required them to directly protect the Dark Lord and the Shadow Hand; not fight on the front lines of the war, where a stray slug could tip the balance of life and death.

The aesthetic design of the Nerean armor also deviated from the Neo-Imperator's, brilliant ruby plates instead of dark black and gray. This was intentional, as it hearkened back to the ancient days of Palpatine the Great's Royal Guards.

A symbol of Imperial prestige.
