DESCRIPTION
Many years ago, before the galaxy's known Sith of today, those of old had a scientist looking to create equally effective, but less dangerous version of the known Blackwing Virus and Rakghoul Plague. Enter the Necrophage Virus, very similar to the Blackwing Virus. However, making the virus weaker than the original Imperial project made it less effective in the sense of infection, and thus the Rakghoul Plague helped to insure that a larger percentage of living infected hosts would transform into the undead before death rather than after. However, even with this higher rating, it's still lower than the original viruses, and there is a smaller chance of mutations to occur because of the mutations that occur within the Rakghoul Plague.
This virus works by attaching to the brain, and spinal cord, reprograming them to work solely for it's needs which is to spread and live. Protean based consumables appear to be the only known source of energy the virus can absorb and use.
The infected hosts are usually always already dead when the virus takes full control, creating a decaying flesh husk that rips and shreds flesh without any thought. These undead beings are considerably less intelligent than those created by the Blackwing Project. They are slow moving, dragging their feet with each step. The hosts can range from humans all the way to non sentient animals such as Kath Hounds. Methods of infection can be from a chip emplaced on the spinal cord of soldiers and prisoners, injection by syringe, or by blood or saliva of the undead themselves.
