SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Accurate: Living up to the Nakaioma motto, "Tradition of Precision", the ND21A Hayabusa remains highly effective, and accurate in long-distance, open field engagements, primarily due to its Ayano Autosteady Gyro-Gimbal.
  • Light: Not as heavy as other rifles of it's class, the Hayabusa is manufactured with lightweight materials, lessening the demand of carrying it on the user.
  • Reliable: Protected against water, dust, and even electromagnetic devices. The Hayabusa will remain worthy of a user's trust in even the most harsh environments. While its cooling coils, located along the barrel prevent any significant amount of overheating.
  • Modular: Able to be kitted out in a variety of forms, depending on the user's tastes, the Hayabusa is particularly customizable for its role in the market.
  • Rate of Fire: Able to switch between fire modes depending on the situation, the Hayabusa can rapidly fire blaster shots if need be, useful for close quarters, or other panicked scenarios. Caution due to recoil is advised.
WEAKNESSES
  • Recoil: However accurate it may be, the Hayabusa does have a kick to it, and one can only really take advantage of its accuracy if they take the time to master its difficult recoil.
  • Ergonomics: Designed for humans, it is likely only truly usable by humans, and near-human species. Limiting its availability to certain cliental.
DESCRIPTION
Designed, developed, and manufactured by Nakaioma Defense Dynamics, the ND21 Hayabusa is an assault blaster rifle, intended for widespread availability, and operational capabilities that allow for a variety of uses in both civilian, and military fields. Owing to its modularity, it has seen use in private ownership for both personal defense, as well as home defense, hunting, law enforcement, and some military use by local forces, though as of today, no major faction has introduced it into service. While being relatively mundane in the realms of capacity, stopping power, and with more recoil than average, the Hayabusa more than makes up for this via its accuracy, reliability, and modularity, otherwise known as the A.R.M. design plan. Lightweight, accurate, and reliable, it is a rifle well-suited for most tasks that are asked of it, if the shooter is practiced enough with it. Knowing when and how to reload, and how to handle the recoil most especially.

First thought of shortly after the Netherworld incident, as the demand for weapons rose astronomically. The Hayabusa was intended initially to be a purely home and personal defense weapon, with limited range, heavier weight, and a lack of accuracy being balanced out with a higher ammunition capacity, and greater stopping power. However as development went on, the bloated R&D team assigned to the project increasingly became divided into two proto-factions of sorts, one that preferred a design similar to what the Hayabusa is today, and one that preferred the originally intended model. Taking the concerns of both sides into consideration, the corporation made the decision to develop both an assault blaster rifle, and a close quarters, sub-assault blaster. Eventually splitting the two camps into their own, distinct development teams. Adding extra years onto the development timeline of both weapons, but in the end producing two specialized designs.
