Intent: A tool and honour for dedicated astrogators.
Development Thread: None
Manufacturer: Iron Crown Enterprises
Model: Navigator's Ring
Affiliation: The Navigator's Ring is given to the most skilled astrogators and hyperspace explorers wherever they can be found by their peers. Ownership has nothing to do with Force-sensitivity or lack thereof. Current rings are held by senior explorers and navigators at Baobab Astrography and Silk Holdings, as well as other corporations with exploration interests (Iron Crown, ATC, etc.). Rings are also held by certain members of Clan Rekali, the occasional Jedi, some private contractors, etc. Notable owners may include Jorus Merrill, [member="Samael Rekali"], [member="Alna Merrill"], [member="Alec Rekali"], [member="Mara D'Lessio Merrill"], [member="Chloe Blake"], [member="Coren Starchaser"] and some of his relatives, [member="Vaudin Miir"], and [member="Vassara Raxis"] (deceased). Astrogation graduates of the Levantine Astronautical Academy are often given this ring. Basically, anyone who's good at hyperspace navigation can be assumed to either have this ring or be working toward it.
Modularity: No
Production: Limited (Only A Select Group Of NPCs/PCs)
Material: Miniature hyperspace compass electronics, armour-grade bronzium
Description: The Navigator's Ring is the mark of an experienced and skilled hyperspace navigator, regardless of personal affiliation or alignment. ICE made these rings for prestige, not for profit, and many astrogators carry an extra one in case they find someone worthy.

The Navigator's Ring is a self-contained miniature hyperspace compass. Whether the wearer is in realspace or hyperspace, they can orient themselves relative to galactic centre at any time. The flat bronzium dials rotate to represent three-dimensional positioning in ways that only someone who knows the rings can interpret -- but they can be interpreted at a glance. In this, they're comparable to an analog clock.

The hyperspace compass is an extremely common emergency navigational system, standard on many makes of ship. Miniaturizing it wasn't especially troublesome. The Navigator's Ring can serve as a backup navigational reference in emergency contexts. Though it can be worn on any finger, many prefer to wear it on the thumb so as to be visible while holding a joystick or flight yoke.

Primary Source: Moderately inspired by the miniature shield generator in the Rebel Corusca Signet Ring.
