  • Space Station Name: Naval Station Govia
    Alternate Names
    Govia Shipyards
  • Govia Repair Yards
  • Govia Refueling Platform

[*]Station Model: A very old Imperial Naval Station from the days of the Empire and Rebellion
[*]Classification: Refueling and Refitting Station
[*]Location: Corellian Sector

[*]Affiliation: Corellian Confederation
[*]Population: Moderate
[*]Demographics: Fair mix of various organic species, a small Twon Kettee working colony, and a large amount of astromechs, working droids, and administrative droids. The station also is host to a large amount of generational workers, workers whose families settled on the station and made a living working for whatever faction claimed the station, sometimes even keeping the station independent. These workers, while considered Corellian Citizens, largely face many of the same struggles faced by transient and lower class workers all over the Galaxy. They were fiercely independent, even by Corellian standards and often spoke out in solidarity with radical fringe groups like the "Belters" of Socorro's Belt in the Corellian System.
[*]Accessibility: The system itself isn't known for much outside of the refueling platform but the location of Naval Station Govvia is available on the holonet if you know where to look. Its considered a secondary shipyard and repair dock.
[*]Traffic: Moderate
  • The needs of the Corellian Confederation far, far underwhelm the behemoth Imperial Station. They utilize a little under 40% of the total station for their needs. As the second to last world out of the Corellian Sector heading towards CIS and ORC space by way of the Corellian Trade Spine it sees a fair amount of use by Duros system patrols and by elements of the Soaring First Fleet.
  • Service Ships You Might See
    FT-90 Corellian Light Tanker
  • Hajen II-Class Fleet Tender
  • CT-34 Interstellar Tug

[*]Description: Naval Station Govia is an old, massive Imperial Fueling Platform similar to Naval Station Validusa. Since the fall of the Empire its served dozens of factions, though no faction has ever come close to utilizing its full potential. Massive in size and scope the spars and channels mostly held fuel tanks and docking arm clamps for holding the massive battlecruisers of the Empire. Now these arms have long been modified to service smaller warships and the massive battlecruiser repair docks re-purposed to create starfighters and corvettes. Far from a "secret" staging ground or shipyard, Naval Station Govia was a quiet place to spend one's career with little pirate activity due to its proximity to the Duro system. An antique of an age long relegated to myth rather than history, it serves the Corellian Confederation in servicing their fleets. Parts of the station have been cut off, long since deemed to be "unsafe". With the station so old and so large all of these condemned spaces have been left alone and forgotten. There was a rumor on the dark holonet however that these condemned spaces were false and that Corellian Naval Intelligence used them, though to what end no one knows.

  • Govia Flight Control: The old main bridge of the station. It dictated flight traffic in and around the station and was the main hub of communication from the station to other Corellian Navy affiliated outposts, stations, and fleets.
  • Mess: Mess was a series of cantinas, mess halls, and diners that sprung up around the transient work culture that took root on the station. Originally made hundreds of years ago within a section of station thought to be condemned, the community is probably the only thing constant about the station since the Empire left it and is the only condemned area that was fixed and sees regular upkeep by the local workers.
  • Govia Dock Colony - The Docks: Not actual docks, these had once been one of the dozens of cargo hangars used by the Empire. Its long been in use by the generational workers and transient workers as both a home and a minor space port. As a result the Corellian Confederation also had a presence here with a small garrison and immigration center.
  • Condemned Spaces: Areas of the station that have been condemned as unsafe or not rated for travel without a vac suit. These places weren't all declared by the Corellian Confederation and many of them predate the faction, but they are all avoided nonetheless. They are often the focus of ghost stories and stupid drunken dares.
  • Working Spaces: These included the small shipyards, repair docks, and refueling hooks that dotted the entire station.

Medium - Naval Station Govia is at the end of the day considered a military station. As such it is protected by the Corellian Navy at all times. A Golan Fighter Platform hangs near by and offers housing and maintenance for eight full fighter squadrons from both the Navy and the Corellian Starfighter Corps. A single Starhawk II Battleship, The Gunsway, leads a small task force of patrol corvettes and a small handful of cruisers meant to keep pirates from even wanting to risk peeking near by. These ships however are on patrol for the entire system and so often the cruisers are off near the edge of the system leaving just the Gunsway and a few corvettes or gunships to defend the station.

Originally constructed by the Empire several hundred years ago, Naval Station Govia has passed through the hands of a hundred owners and dozens of governments since the Empire's fall. At some point after during the waning years of the 400 Years of Darkness, transient workers fed up with the working conditions revolted against the faction that claimed the station as their own. Taking up arms against their overlords they managed to secure independence for themselves, establishing the Govia Dock Colony, or just The Docks. They operated independently for many generations. Even when Govia was under Republic control, the Govian Dock Colony maintained its own sovereignty all the way up until the the Omni Crisis of 835. Dubbed the Clockwork Rebellion by the Galaxy at large, the event saw droids the Galaxy over turn on their masters and the vestiges of ancient mechanical evils returned to claim the Galaxy for their own.

As most of the station was automated by droids at the time the colony saw a huge loss of life and the dockyard which was in use by the Republic for hefty fees was nearly fully disabled. As a result, after the Omni Crisis was handled, the remaining colonists and the Republic came to an agreement, essentially forfeiting their independence and becoming employees of the Galactic Republic. Since then they have retained such a working relationship with whatever faction held the space with the current faction being the Corellian Confederation.
