Faction Naught but the Force (Open to Jedi)

Tiland knelt on a flat stone in a clearing. Vestar, he thought the world was. The old Anzati had been there for quite some time now, meditating and training. But something in the Force had urged him to reach out to the Jedi in the rest of the galaxy. A prompt to teach them, like he had begun teaching the young Kat Kenrid Kat Kenrid .

What exactly was it that he was to teach? That was the question but his meditation led him to believe it was the ancient techniques known by some as Force Weapon. He had prepared by gathering a smattering of normal items. Sticks, cloths, robes, bottles. All things that could easily come to hand in any circumstance.

There would be no need for lightsabers in this exercise. Indeed, they were not meant to leave the place where they hung.

These techniques were things that were both practical and metaphorical. It honed a Jedi’s connection to the Force and their reliance on it. But it also aided when caught by surprise or when there was a desire to keep lightsabers hidden away. Much like Force Body, it served multiple purposes. If there was a chance, he would begin introducing them to that as well.

The clearing was shaped liked a wide circle, with stones wide enough to kneel on in a smaller circle. The normal items sat in a pile in the center, waiting for the students who would use them. He has his own staff laying beside him to demonstrate.

Vestar? The Padawan had never heard of the world nor had he ever planned on venturing to it. Part of the reason for his embarking on the journey was the fact that Val’s master had been prodding him on the importance of broadening his horizons beyond his use of telekinesis and amplifying his natural attributes. If it were up to the adolescent he’d rather have traveled to a Zeltros and partake in the casinos and other amenities that the planet offered. That, however, was out of the question due to droid babysitter that had been commanded to pilot the ship straight to and from Vestar once the lessons were complete.

The vessel came down to a gentle landing on the outskirts of a clearing. With a hiss, the landing ramp lowered and the youth walked out into the fresh sunlight. Its warmth dancing upon his skin, the light from above shining down on his tan skin. There were no other ships visible making it seem like Val was the first to have arrived. Usually, the padawan was known to be fashionably late and quite enjoyed his reputation among the other Green Jedi apprentices.

Sighing and casting one more look back up and into the transport shuttle Val ventured to the center of the clearing where an older man sat. Appearing human in all regards, and as old as the planet itself. “Excuse me, Master Kortun? The boy asked as he approached. “I was told you would be having a lesson here.”

Tiland didn't open his eyes for several moments as he heard the ship approach and land. Within, he could sense the presence of a young Jedi. One uncertain and not quite sure as to what it was that brought him here. Tiland didn't blame the lad. This was a world on the edge of galactic map. Very few knew anything about what lay beyond towards the edge of the galaxy, if there was even something. But he could sense something out there still that was calling him. A place? A person? A cause? He didn't know. Only that for now, his instincts told him to stay here on Vestar for a time. When that time changed, he would know, and the opportunity would present himself.

He opened his eyes as the first student spoke. "Indeed, you are correct, my friend. I am teaching a lesson here, once the Force brings us all the students. It appears you are the first. What is your name? ANd where do you come from?"

Tiland picked up his staff and beckoned for Val to sit on one of the stones next to him. "Come, sit. Take a breather and spend a few moments meditating. If others do not arrive soon, we shall know that you are my intended class."
