SPECIAL FEATURES
- Hidden: This suit is composed of hundreds of thousands of individual nanites. These Nano-droids are constructed and programmed to survive within their host's body. They disperse themselves throughout the bloodstream, muscle tissue, and other organic passageways through out the body. While in the body they are effectively "Inactive." However, once they are activated the microscopic droids flurry to exit the host's body. Once outside of the body, they will condense and form to the specially made spider silk body glove the wearer uses, creating an effective barrier around the wearer, which presents itself as a jet black suit.
- Medical Nanites: Along with the hundreds of thousands of standard nanodroids, this suit hosts a series of medical droids that work on a microscopic level. The number of droids that are capable of microscopic medical procedure is vastly lower than the mass population of droids held within the body. These droids are NOT capable of healing wounds or replacing lost cells. Instead they are capable of delivering minor anesthetics to the wounded area to numb a bit of pain. They can also slow minor bleeding and disinfect minor wounds. They are also capable of slowly purging the body of unwanted toxins and poisons.
- Control Terminal: The wearer of this suit will have a small collar-like device wrapped around their neck. This device is the nanite hub, where the droids are distributed into the blood stream. It also is host to a disassembled helmet which will automatically assemble itself around the wearer's head when the nanites are called.
- Helmet: The helmet of this suit comes equipped with a fully functional Heads Up Display. Equipped with life-support sensors, a commlink, rangefinder, bio-scanners, IFF, Nightvision, and a slot for an AI program, it is a perfectly functional combat helmet.
- Nano-AI: This suit can be accompanied with an AI program, giving it direct control of the Nano-droids within the wearer's body.
- Flex-suit: This suit is little more than a second-skin that is grafted to the wearer's body. As the Nano-droids condense and form around the wearer's body-suit they create a thin material that does not shift or chafe against them. Essentially moving around in the armor allows as much free movement as a standard body glove.
- Disguised: The armor is easily worn underneath another set of clothing or even a second set of armor. However, when the suit is manifested around the body, it can be manifested in a passive mode that emulates a set of civilian clothing.
- Blaster Resistant: Each nanite is made from extremely resilient metal. Mostly created from titanium alloys, these nanites are extremely resilient to blaster fire when deployed.
- Permanent: The operation to have this armor integrated into a wearer's body is extremely difficult. The body has to go through a series of augmentations for these nanites to work effectively. First the bodyglove must be effectively grafted to the users skin, which makes them incapable of removing the black suit. Afterwards, the Control Terminal is drilled into the wearer's collarbone, making it impossible for the nanite hub to be removed conventionally.
- Dead-Nanites: If the Control Terminal is targeted and destroyed, the nanites will have no place to recharge and repair themselves. Because of that their lives will begin to deteriorate. After the Control Terminal's destruction, the wearer has three days where the nanites will continue to function. After that third day, they will begin to lose power and die. With a mass death occurring only 24 hours after that, the wearer can suffer horrible titanium poisoning as the dead nanites are dispersed through their blood stream.
- EMP/ION: The nanites within the wearer's body are effectively defended from most EMP based attacks. However a powerful enough blast can deactivate both the Control Terminal and the nanites within, starting the cycle to the nanites death and the wearer's body being poisoned.
Nanotechnology has long since been considered the future of science and warfare. Imagine thousands of microscopic droid soldiers, maintaining their host in the field of battle. The suit itself is almost a series of augmentations, as apposed to an actual suit of armor. For the wearer of the suit to be compatible with the Nano-droids, they must have a specialized body glove that is bonded to their genetic code. This bodyglove acts as an exterior skin for many of the nanites to graft on to, condensing themselves into a thin barrier of titanium surrounding the wearers.
The first trials with the suit were extremely unsuccessful. In the beginning the bodyglove was forfeit in lieu of the wearer's own skin. However, nearly every time the nanites dissolved back into the skin, they would take a layer of the epidermis with them. An extremely painful, and medically unsound result, it was found that something would be needed to protect the wearer's skin. Using a shell spider silk weave, a bio-body glove was constructed that saved the wearer the hellish trouble of losing their skin.
Of course, there was a negative side to the bodyglove. For the glove to remain on the wearer's skin, it has to be surgically grafted, or else the nanites would shred it to pieces as they condensed around it. With the glove set more like a reinforced skin, that problem was solved.
The prototype suit was mostly a success. Completely Blaster resistant, Kinetically sound, and able to survive a few glancing lightsaber blows it was the best they could hope for. Yet it was not enough. The nanites, while exceptional, were a major target to EMP/ION weaponry. In the even their control terminal was destroyed, or the nanites all died within the wearer's body, it could spell death for the wearer. The final verdict was to end all trials with Nano-armor technology, until they were capable of making a less lethal suit. In the end only one prototype suit and it's wearer survived the trials.
