  • Primary Source: Nagata-type Plasma Hypervelocity Cannon
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Primo Victorian Enterprises
  • Affiliation: Imperial Commonwealth of Dosuun
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: CPC-NTGC4-04 “Nagata II”
  • Modularity: Yes — single, twin, & quad mounts (quad disables stutter‑fire mode)
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Galven coils, depleted‑baradium shells, tibanna gas, trinity-core (synthek, boreas, kyromite) power crystals, rail compensators, tracking sensors, temperature compensation systems
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Plasma + Railgun Hybrid
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: 88 mm depleted-baradium shell + tibanna gas
  • Ammunition Capacity: Very Large
  • Effective Range: Long (stutter-fire disables range)
  • Rate of Fire: Fast (stutter mode: lower ROF, higher punch)
  • Damage Output: High to very high (stun plasma + kinetic slug)
  • Recoil: Low (retry-fire increases recoil)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Shaped-Charge Rounds: Boosted penetration, secondary conical plasma burst on impact
  • Synthek-Boreas-Kyromite Power Core: Replaces older Sianium system with more stable thermal cycling and plasma focusing
  • Galven Coil Rails: Magnetic acceleration maintains round velocity and stability
  • Stutter-Fire System: Toggled mode trading ROF vs punishing single-shot damage
  • Tracking & Lead Computer: Shells guided for higher moving-target accuracy
  • Magnetic Acceleration Coils: Boreas-cooled galven rails maintain slug velocity and reduce warping
  • Overheat Compensation: Temp regulation to prevent crystal breakdown under sustained use
  • Ammunition 88mm-depleted Baradium shells:
    • 88mm depleted-baradium penetrator (kinetic slug)
    • Surrounded or core-filled with plasma reservoir (pressurized tibanna or variant)
    • Fired via hypervelocity rail channel (Gauss-type acceleration)
    • Now updated with Synthek coils, Boreas stabilizers, and optionally Kyromite cooling vents for crystal-core harmonics
  • Ammunition Variants, 88mm-depleted Baradium shells:
    • HEP-P (High-Explosive Plasma – Penetrating): Delivers conical plasma burst inside armor after initial impact, ideal for destroying subsystems
    • HEPI (High-Explosive Plasma Incendiary): Ignites internal compartments, disrupts hangars or soft targets with persistent fire
    • APPC (Armor-Piercing Plasma Core): Sub-caliber, plasma-tipped dart for shield-piercing and deep hull penetration
    • SPHV (Superheated Plasma Hollow-Vector): Expanding plasma spread on impact for devastating effect against light hulls or biological targets
    • FJ-PL (Full-Jacketed Plasma Lance): High-speed plasma jacketed slug for sniper-style punch-through with minimal diffusion
    • KCS (Kyromite Cryo-Sabot): Kyromite-tipped anti-reactor round that induces sudden cold-shock and structural embrittlement
STRENGTHS
  • Exceptional against both shields and armor: slug and plasma dual-impact
  • Configurable fire modes: Choose precision firing or brute suppression
  • No pure energy signature: harder to jam or detect than plasma beams
  • Excellent at disabling subsystems in a single volley
WEAKNESSES
  • High recoil and reload time in stutter mode
  • Vulnerable to ion/EMP — single hit can disable generator/feed systems
  • Quad mounts sacrifice stutter-fire flexibility for fire volume
DESCRIPTION
The Nagata II VPC‑NTIV “Gauss Lance” merges railgun velocity with plasma shock impact—creating a two-phase attack ideal for disabling or destroying modern capital-class ships. The 88 mm depleted-baradium slug penetrates armor or shields, then releases a burst of tibanna-charged plasma to fry internal systems and disrupt regeneration.

In stutter-fire mode, salvoed bursts deliver hyper-lethal punishment, ideal for crippling enemy capital ships at range. In fast-mode, rapid-fire slugs chip away at smaller vessels or light shields. Magnetic galven coils and silicon diode tracking systems ensure accuracy; overheat sensors prevent critical failures. However, ion saturation or EMP strikes can cripple the system—so pairing with shielded platforms or ECM escorts is advised.

Nagata II fits into Commonwealth doctrine as a flexible heavy cannon—able to lord over shielded adversaries or shred armor when the shields crack.
