SPECIAL FEATURES

  • It’s alive. Keep it well-fed and comfortable when not worn.
Nadir recommends establishing rapport with your armor through the use of snacks, long walks on the beach, and late-night conversation. Depending on your planet of residence, eventual marriage isn’t out of the question.

  • Bone-ridges and spines serve as easy attachment points for bandoliers, belts, and other externalities
Strengths:

  • Symbiosis: Though the learning curve is quite steep, training to coexist with the Boneplate brings its true strength to the fore. The wearer and armor come to understand each other on an instinctual level, allowing them to guide and react with the awareness of twin minds. Fighting in unison with another living organism will allow the wearer to discover a whole new level of combat flow.

  • Un-Forcer: Save for Sith Lightning, nothing Force-born will affect the wearer of this armor. For all intents and purposes, the Boneplate renders the user dead in the Force.

  • Graveknight: There is something to be said for the difference morale can make on the battlefield. Most regular soldiers will be reaching for their brown pants at the sight of this.
Weaknesses:

  • Snag-a-lot: The bone spikes aren’t ideal for narrow spaces or close-quarters combat. On the upside, breaking someone’s fingers if they try to grapple you just became really, really easy.

  • Electricity: Pray your enemies don’t enjoy bacon rolls – because that’s what a solid dose of lightning will turn you into.

  • Au naturelle: Due to the molding process, the armor doesn’t support many technologies considered commonplace in modern warfare. Aside from an extremely basic HUD included with the helmet, you can forget about fancy gadgets with the Boneplate.

  • In the dark: The glistaweb is a double-edged… er, organism. Space mages wearing this armor will find themselves effectively cut off from the Force – a deeply unpleasant and even painful experience for all but the most inured.
DESCRIPTION
Bio-technology is nothing new for the many species of the galaxy. At the forefront are of course the infamous Yuuzhan Vong – a culture intimately familiar to the minds behind Nadir. It should come as no surprise that their next big venture in the field of quality equipment should utilize such techniques, then.

Building on the concept of the E-series Armor underlay and Hunter helmet, the R&D department went through several failed iterations of the armor before emerging with the final product. The G-series Boneplate is an homage to a more base era of combat, unreliant on any power source or gimmick to keep the fighter in play.

NT-1, creature, and bone become one in a grotesque marriage of the organic and the artificial. Learning to wear it is nothing like the normal armor a soldier or a mercenary would be used to. It’s alive in every sense of the word, which will be an alien experience for anyone – only those acquainted with the biots of the Vong could don the Boneplate with little difficulty or need for acclimatization.

Given its peculiarity, this armor certainly isn’t for everyone. It takes practice and patience to adjust – traits that many hunters lack. Those willing to invest the time, however, will find a grateful and generous companion in the Boneplate.
