BIOGRAPHICAL INFO:

>>> WARNING
>>> POWER SURGE DETECTED
>>> CAUTION ADVISED
>>> SCANNING LIFEFORM

A Force-Sensitive Twi'lek, Nabrina Vao is a trained Force User aligned with the Dark Side of the Force. Although originally born as a bastard child to an enslaved Twi'lek while on the Planet Somot Riv (her mother was a native of Ryloth) and a father (also Twi'lek) to whom the former was indentured. She was shunned and kept away from the most part, and at age 13 was eventually sold to a minor Sith instructor who made a courtesan out of the then young Twi'lek. Eventually realizing Nabrina's potential and volatile Force Sensitivity, he additionally took her in under his wing as a "student", instructing her in the ways of lightsaber combat and how to tap into the Dark Side of the Force to channel abilities. After about a decade of instruction, upon realizing that her aging master was holding her back, she killed him following a sparring session with the latter, just one of many that she was already winning with increasing regularity by then. Just before decapitating him, Nabrina notably remarked that his biggest, most fatal mistake was underestimating her, and thinking he could light-heartedly indulge while claiming to be privy to the Dark Side.

Nabrina spent the following year continuing her training in hiding, as well as hunting down various sources of knowledge - from minor holocrons, forbidden texts and long-forgotten datapads, to making pilgrimages to showcased holocron sites, regularly immersing herself in literature concerning the Sith - from the ancient culture's history, to its notable personalities, up to its abilities and the noted side effects on one's body following regular practice.

The circle was completed approximately two years following her murdering of her master and instructor, when Nabrina returned to Somot Riv, and killed her family - her mother for selling her into slavery, her father for his neglect. She perceived both to be weak soft spots from her past that had to be done away with for her to continue her training as a strong practitioner in the Dark Side of the Force. She also murdered four siblings.

She has since become a cunning, brutal and deceptively manipulative individual. While her ultimate goals are unknown, she has been known for her relentless hunger for power and her straight-up Machiavellian impunity. Reports have come in from outlying worlds where the Twi'lek has appeared, at first seeming to advise minor leaders and greedy deputies on the art of gaining power; only to stab then in the back the moment it suited her.

_____________________________________________________________________________

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES:

(+) PUGILISTIC COMBATANT: Nabrina is a formidable and highly skilled melee fighter. She has been tempered by countless duels, and continues to hone her craft with a relentless impunity like no other.

(+) EXOTIC BEAUTY: Despite her menacing Sith tattoos and falling far short of sultriness, Nabrina remains a remarkably attractive female. Life as a hardy, resilient subscriber of the Dark Side has hardened the Twi'lek, and toughened her not only mentally, but also physically. As a specimen of strength & conditioning, Nabrina possesses an extraordinary level of physical fitness, sporting a physique most would die for, sans tattoos.

(-) DUELING SPECIALIST: Nabrina's specialization in close-combat technique and Force abilities geared towards this field makes her something of a One Trick Pony. She is virtually unassailable at close quarters, but remains vulnerable to more arcane Force Abilities and excessive blaster fire.

(-) TWI'LEK LEKKU: The Twi'lek species, while generally attractive and widely renowned for their grace and supple forms, all share one primary weakness - their head-tails. While primarily used for communication in Ryl/Ryu, these are highly sensitive and major liabilities in heated combat, or in fighting at all. Even something as simple and crude as a powerfully applied grip to one of Nabrina's head-tails can send the crimson-skinned Twi'lek reeling in pain. She always pays especially particular attention to defending these; often sacrificing many an opportunity to land a fatally critical hit on an opponent as she must rush to protect her head-tails.

PERSONALITY PROFILE:

Although seemingly calm, composed and serene on the surface, Nabrina Vao is as turbulent an individual as the prototypical Sith. She is much more cold, calculating and cunning than she is blindly angry or a creature of rancor, preferring to accomplish tasks before her and attain profit held out in front of her with brutal efficiency and unrelenting impunity. Unlike most of her contemporaries, she seldom explicitly gives in to raw, primal emotion - an inwardly raging, brooding Twi'lek female who maintains the appearance of deathly composure on the outside, and channels it into combat technique and fighting fervor.

Notable personality quirks include Nabrina's often getting sidetracked when on the topics of anything even remotely related to Twi'lek or Togruta culture, admittedly holding a fascination more intensely than she probably should. She's fluent in Ryl, Ryu and Togruti, and has been known to hold soft spots for both species. She also displays no small modicum of admiration and obsession over the ideals of the Marauders, the ancient warriors during the days of the Sith Empire. Using their example as a blueprint, she narrowly focuses on close quarters combat, and to the most of her ability redirects all her knowledge, training and talents toward the pursuit of perfection in this highly specialized enterprise. This, as one easily deducts, also means that there are many more hues of power in the form of Force Abilities and skill that she must then neglect, and as often happens, not even touch upon at all.

This leads to a discussion on her weaknesses. While an accomplished fighter and a perfectionist with regard to technique, Nabrina is no strategist. Her focus on personal performance in combat excludes the general study of warfare and conflict; preferring experiental-based knowledge drawn from personal experience rather than the study of theory. She's also prone to underestimating opponents, and while quite a tactical fighter, often becomes the target of more advanced Force Abilities that experienced Force Users will always supplant to their order of battle when lightsabers just won't do anymore - Nabrina sort of expects by default that opponents will favor melee combat as well - a narrow approach to fighting, if not an odd, distorted sense of honor and chivalry. This personal preference of relying on skill and technique over exploring other, more indirect means by which the same victorious outcome may be achieved remains her greatest weakness.

With regard to more personal, general attributes, Nabrina appears, as previously mentioned, as a brooding, but at-times spirited Twi'lek. She can be quite frank in her speech, and while generally disapproving of 'dawdling', will often resort to using the charms of her species in pursuit of her own ends. She is reserved, introverted and very selective in choosing her company. Her voice is generally flat and spiteful, as is her choice of words. Nabrina can also be quite curious and the investigative type, particularly if she feels that further probing and study is something she can profit from - usually in the context of combat ability and strength/affinity to the Dark Side and its arcane lore and secrets.

PC KILLS/BOUNTIES CLAIMED:

Nice change of profile. Lot of interesting touches - I particularly like the inclusion of a sense of her 'alignment'.

Only part I'd note: Juyo is designed to be a fairly advanced form of lightsaber combat, something I'd define as 'channeled rage', which might be difficult for a student as yet untrained in the techniques. I've noticed that you've got a lot of skill and things in here - where did those come from? If you haven't done training threads for them, you might want to rethink them a little, because a lot of them (Juyo, Lightning, Tutaminis, Wave of Hatred) are all advanced skills that would need to be taught to you by a Sith Lord or, at the very least, a Sith Knight or Knight of Ren.

Might be worth putting those in as skills she aspires to learn, but doesn't yet know - otherwise you risk turning into a 'Godawan' as some people put it: an Acolyte too powerful for her level. On the plus side, you're a good writer, so I expect you know that this is usually a red flag!

Also: two strengths and weaknesses total? Nothing about her personality, character, physical flaws, potential vulnerabilities or even about her actual strengths: do they stem from high levels of training (again, evidence needed!), natural aggression/discipline, from high levels of strength and agility? Seems like that needs to be fleshed out a little. The Tutaminis as a skill also isn't reflected in your strengths/weaknesses: you say she's vulnerable to Force abilities and anything at range, but Tutaminis would negate this as an issue. See where I'm going with this?

But, all in all, I'm liking where you've started out, and I've enjoyed RPing with you so far. Hope to do more of this!

I realized it too, looking back in review. I've decided to act on your remarks though as your critique has been nothing but constructive and critical from the beginning. :) I've trimmed the set of Force Abilities she knows for now, and cut Juyo from the list of lightsaber techniques she's privy to.

Realistically speaking, she'd be a pretty accomplished Makashi duelist by now with decent supplementing Djem So, but you're right. No Juyo yet.

ADDENDUM: It's still mostly a WIP, so this'll be fleshed out a lot more as I go back to it a few more times.

[member="Nabrina Vao"]

This is what makes you a good writer: not just your technique, which is excellent, but the fact that you listen and make your character organic, which is superlative.

I'd say you're placing yourself in a pretty good position to grow your character in the direction you want: you're starting out at a good point, with the skills you need to build on, but not too weak, and not too strong. That's always a decent way to play it. Your next task: find yourself a teacher, and build the character!

Oh, and don't forget an RP list! Helps people keep track of your character.

[member="Nabrina Vao"], You can list other strengths and weaknesses of your species as a Twi'lek. Like your lekku being sensitive and so injuries to it hurt more than what it seems.

I really like this profile over all. Very well organized and kept clean.

Strengths can range from being rather "beautiful" as a species, How the Lekku can be used with other Twi'leks to have "secret conversations"

Otherwise, its all up to character traits, and maybe having physical weaknesses like injuries and mental problems.

[member="Nabrina Vao"], Anyways, good luck with everything. If you are searching for a Master, I can help with a few lessons, but I am not sure if I have enough time to warrant a full blown apprenticeship.
