[SIZE=9pt]Description[/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]: The Quarsh-class Customs Satellites are named after the legendary Captain Quarsh Panaka, dubbed the ‘fastest eyes on Naboo.’ Necessitated by multiple incidents of terrorism in Theed, these uncrewed satellites monitor all space traffic and hyperspace reversions within extreme weapons range of the [/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]most important[/SIZE][SIZE=9pt] planets, moons, and astronomical phenomena of the Naboo system. Quarsh-class satellites can obtain in-depth customs scans within standard weapons range when focusing on a single target or group of targets. Without focusing (i.e. omnidirectionally) they can obtain scans of similar quality within defensive/starfighter weapons range. Standard security protocols require all traffic to be routed close to Quarsh-class satellites for a customs scan in passing, where the satellites can reorient for especially intense scans if needed. As necessary, the customs satellites can be oriented toward the surface to assist in incident response. This capability is used sparingly: Naboo’s government has no wish to engage in wholesale surveillance of its own populace.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]Quarsh-class satellites cannot detect any stealth ship with a cloaking device, except through ion exhaust tracking in space that has not seen significant traffic (such as ships trying to avoid the customs satellites which lie on the usual approach routes). Thrust trace dampers would make such ships undetectable to Quarsh-class satellites. In brief: any ship with both a cloaking device and thrust trace dampers can sneak past Quarsh-class satellites.[/SIZE]
