- Description:
- N&Z Tarsai Vigil (commonly referred to and colloquially known by many as ' The Tarsai Vigil ' or by the singular pseudonym ' Tarsai ' ) is a subsidiary of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation: an intergalactic spanning megacorporation that can be found in several sectors (and their respective star systems) located across the Outer Rim Territories. A former security organisation owned by the Cortessan Finance Group (see: Five Veils Conspiracy), Tarsai were purchased by Umbrella in 905 ABY and therefore became a newly acquired asset in the High Republic on behalf of the megacorp.
Originally established in 902 ABY (during the waning days of the Royal Naboo Republic) Tarsai were originally created as part of Wend Maricon's desire to revitalize the Five Veils Route so that it's civilian led (albeit privately owned) security forces and patrols could perform security inspections upon other ships utilizing the hyperlane that were either suspected to be holding illegal contraband or performing other criminal activity as they passed through Naboo space.
Three years after it was formed, in which Tarsai have gained a repugnant reputation in several sectors located in the Mid Rim Territories (in and around the High Republic) for alleged corruption and mismanagement, this security organisation retain their presence along the Five Veils Route to this day, and still perform their much hated inspections upon ships passing through the hyperlane, where they also still install and run extortionate tolls and tariffs on commerce or trade coming through the star systems located nearby their operations in accordance to the original regulations that were created during the height of the Five Veils Revitalization Project.
The N&Z Tarsai Vigil headquarters can be found on Enarc.

- Enarc
- Domain:
- N&Z Tarsai Vigil lay claim to the Five Veils Route as part of their operations to provide security and order to the route. The relationships courted by this organisation with commercial or civilian ships and their respective captains and crew are notoriously awful. Tarsai are infamous for stopping ships for inspection when they weren't breaking the law, and for detaining or arresting people when such actions were not justified, which has left them with a well known, repugnant reputation. It also has a reputation for being hated due to the high tariffs and tolls that they impose on commercial activities coming and go through the trading route, as well as demanding toll fees for passage and use of the hyperspace route that it operates along.
- Notable Assets:
- N&Z Tarsai Vigil are a subsidiary of the intergalactic spanning megacorporation known as N&Z Umbrella Corporation. They therefore have access to the vast array of technology that their parent company have either invented or have come to own as a by product of their commercial activities mostly found in the Outer Rim Territories.
- As a subsidiary of Umbrella, Tarsai are consequentially funded as a by product of their parent companies many ventures and other commercial entities spread throughout the galaxy.
- Tarsai (as an organisation) have restricted access to the K.R.C Surveillance Program. The restrictions put in place upon access to this technology are run by the discretion of
Her
.
- Hierarchy:
- N&Z Tarsai Vigil is a subsidiary of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation. It is therefore under control of their parent company and thereby answerable to Umbrella where it operates exclusively underneath their discretion.
- Tarsai (under it's previous iteration) were run by the ' Council of Fractals ' . After Umbrella bought out the organisation, and absorbed it into it's portfolio (which contains a vast array of other subsidiaries that also belong to Umbrella), a reorganisation took place which resulted in the removal of the Fractals and the Strands which previously ran the Tarsai Vigil.
- In this new era, Tarsai run a more streamlined hierarchy whereby less empathises was placed on obfuscating it's internal or external operations, and more on it's activities to maximise it's effectiveness in performing security inspections, patrols, the installation of tariffs and tolls, and administrating fees paid into the organisation for use of the Five Veils Route by other third parties.
- Tarsai is under the control of a DIRECTOR from the N&Z Umbrella Corporation. This woman has no known name, identity or origin but is colloquially referred to by most people as
Her
. - Membership:
- Approximate Size of Organisation:
- N&Z Tarsai Vigil maintain a force of approximately 4,000-5,500 active personnel, distributed across:
- Strike groups and interdiction patrols (40%)
- Trade enforcement, station security, and border assets (35%)
- Logistics, signal intelligence, and support (15%)
- Command, administration, and internal affairs (10%)
- Personnel are spread thin across the Five Veils Route and adjacent systems, operating from semi-mobile outposts, contract vessels, and neutral dockyards. Vigil operatives are known for working in tight, modular squads -- scalability is preferred over bulk presence.
- What It Takes to Join:
- N&Z Tarsai Vigil recruits through licensed brokers, mercenary guild listings, and discreet referrals. While its image retains a hardened edge, its recruit process is transparent and performance based:
- Applicants must be of legal age to work in the High Republic, in control of their legal identity (fake or real), and not bound to active service by another major force.
- Background checks assess combat experience, loyalty under duress, and financial discretion -- not criminal history.
- Interviews are conducted by personnel from the N&Z Umbrella Corporation who assess behaviour while under pressure, chain-of-command compliance, and applicant's intent. Individuals who pass these interviews are then referred to the offices of Tarsai who then allocate and distribute them to places of work pertaining to their operations.
- Corporate Partnerships and Hiring:
- External companies may contract with N&Z Tarsai Vigil via N&Z Umbrella Corporation by:
- Applying for a Protection Compact - Granting the company safe trade through the Five Veils Route in exchange for recurring yield or performance share.
- Offering logistical or technical services - Engineers, AI specialists, medics, and cybernetics firms are often hired for short-term contracts.
- Embedding Operatives - Companies may propose candidate personnel to operate under Tarsai command in exchange for training or influence.
- All corporate hires are vetted, tracked, and assigned a Contract Anchor -- a liasion within Tarsai's internal affairs team.
- Climate:
- Friendly Local Business?
- No. Tarsai are not a friendly neighbourhood defence force. While it maintains a publicly neutral, corporately sterile image, the day-to-day environment is marked by paramilitary tension, clipped professionalism, and eyes-always-watching discipline. Civilians and traders along the Five Veils Route may speak of Tarsai with a repugnant tone. Tarsai may make the lanes safer for those travelling along the route, but you also don't want to linger near them, as it could ruin your entire day, and in some cases, their lives. There's no small talk with these people. No market place smiles. They aren't here to make friends. They're here to enforce profitable stability with an air of corporate corruption, and mismanagement which allows them to frequently abuse and exercise their powers.
- Reputation:
- N&Z Tarsai Vigil's reputation can be summarized by a single word: repugnant. This subsidiary quickly became detest after it was first formed just shy of three years ago when it's previous owner was spearheading a project to revitalize the Five Veils Route of which Tarsai begun operating along. After three years this detestability manifested itself into a well built, horrid reputation for all those coming and going from the Five Veils as well as in the star systems that the hyperlane runs through.
While many consider that the Five Veils is made safer by the presence of Tarsai and their security patrols, due to the inspections or detentions that they enact on real criminal activity passing through the route, this does not dissuade the common opinion held about the Vigil: that they think they would be better off without Tarsai being around anymore. - Curios:
- N/A
- Rules:
- Abide by High Republic Law - Tarsai and their personnel are reminded frequently that they are to act within the scope of the laws or legalisations of the High Republic.
- Umbrella Owns You - Tarsai are now owned by the N&Z Umbrella Corporation. Therefore whoever is the C.E.O of Umbrella, or indeed their owner, take precedence over anyone else involved with Tarsai.
- Keep The Five Veils On Lock - The Five Veils Route is to be held down by Tarsai security and their patrol craft. Any vagrant or criminal activity found along this hyperlane is to not be tolerated. Conversely Tarsai are directed to maintain and adhere to a level of strict protocols, rules and regulations that they instil on other third parties passing through the Five Veils regardless of their commercial or civilian activities.
- High Republic Military Are Off-Limits - Any ship, vehicle or personnel (regardless of classification, status or reason) are off-limits to Tarsai if they belong to the High Republic's military. This also includes members of the Jedi Order. If a Republic military craft is using the Five Veils then Tarsai are directed to leave them alone.
- Tarsai Don't Help The Republic Or Jedi - In the event that a ship belonging to the High Republic or Jedi Order request the Tarsai for assistance then it is standard protocol for the Vigil to step down. Under no circumstances should Tarsai Vigil render aide or assistance to the High Republic or Jedi Order.
- The Director Is The Boss -
Her
, as the N&Z Director for Tarsai Vigil, is considered the end all and be all of this organisation. If she tells Tarsai to do something it will do it. - Goals:
- To secure the Five Veils Route from criminal and illegal activity pertaining to the laws or legislation of the High Republic.
- To run and install tariffs or tolls on commercial activities running through the Five Veils Route on the behalf of the High Republic.
- To create the conditions that would grant Tarsai the legal right to blockade star systems where the Trade Federation are operating commercial operations.

- The original founder of the Tarsai Vigil back in 902 ABY, this enigmatic woman retains her authority and control of the organisation as it's director underneath the supervision and discretion of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation. She created Tarsai in order to join the Five Veils Revitalization Project three years ago as a first step to ultimately acquiring naturalised citizenship in the High Republic. Tarsai are just one piece of the puzzle concerning this woman and the schemes that she follows. -

This submission is an up-to-date version of this organisation at the time of it's upload. It is a continuation of a previous submission that you can find here.
The previous history and original concept of Tarsai can be read in it's previous submission with all content written after this point to be considered a new or up-to-date history of this organisation in 2026.
In 902 ABY an elusive entrepreneur called Wend Maricon founded a project that they created to revitalize a hyperspace route which runs through several sectors and star systems found in the Mid Rim Territories. These locations, and the hyperlane itself, ran through territories that were, at the time, under the democratic control of the Royal Naboo Republic. Later, a Nabooian monarch called
During the early days of the Five Veils Revitalization Project, the Cortessan Finance Group (a megacorporation owned by Wend Maricon) were contacted by an expat from the Empire of the Lost with an idea to form a security organisation which would be trusted and put in charge with maintaining peace and order along the Five Veils. The proposal was accepted by C.F.G and in a matter of weeks a new subsidiary for the Cortessan was created. It was called the Tarsai Vigil.
Tarsai, the new subsidiary of the Cortessan Finance Group, was devised by
Even in it's first weeks as an entity operating along the Five Veils Route, Tarsai begun fostering a reputation for unfairness, and accusations of illegally detaining ships passing through the hyperlane with no probable cause. The most prevalent of these accusations came from a member of the Order of Shiraya, a then Jedi Knight called
By 905 ABY, three years after the Larkspur incident, the ship and the Juno family have yet to be found by Quin or Republic authorities.
After three years of running security operations along the Five Veils Route, which included both the legal and illegal inspection of ships using the route, as well as the destruction of contraband, property and the installation of tariffs, tolls or fees for commercial activity running through the Five Veils, Tarsai's initial bad reputation at it's beginning turned into an infamous, notorious, repugnant form where the very name of the Vigil (and all of it's operations) were widely held as corrupt, mismanaged and allegedly illegal in it's own right by those who came into contact with it. Calls for the subsidiary to be closed in Theed via Senate interference and authority were often rumoured but nothing had come about as a result of them even before the N&Z Umbrella Corporation attained control of Tarsai.
During their third year of conspiring together, L.O.H was convinced to acquire Tarsai as a new subsidiary of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation. He would go onto promote Her to the position of DIRECTOR in the N&Z which gave them oversight of Umbrella's new operations in the High Republic as well as continued control of the Vigil itself albeit under the discretion of N&Z's C.E.O
