Description:

The bounty against Subach Innes brought in quite the interesting schematics from various areas. One was the Mist pistol, a plasma pistol that used Tibanna Gas.

As ATC held in its subsidiary Mara TibX and Fuels, the desire to promote such weapons that will use Tibanna gas was held in favor. As such, their own version of the Mist would take from -- with notable upgrades to make it different.

All in all, the Blackbeard is much like a beefed up WeStar-34 had a love child with the Lassiter, ( a valuable, antique laser pistol which was was thought to be the forerunner of modern laser technology) gaining the stamp of approval from Danger’s Nyriaanan Research and Development team. The Nyriaanan’s were not a technologically-advanced people and they used technology based upon that of the Old Republic, such as ancient blasters, which they inherited from their ancestors when they crash-landed on Nyriaan.

They believed that everything had a use and that by keeping old-style technology in service and well-maintained, they honored their forebears. Nevertheless, the Nyriaanans were an adaptive race and were willing to utilize more modern forms of equipment. The reasonably-sized, concealable, and lightweight Blackbeard is able to combine the principles of the Nyriaanan galactic view while supply the demand for anti-force user technology, and of course creating distinct Browncoat Arms & Industrial products!

As a result, to a degree it still retains a sleek and chrome look, but this ain’t your feminine high society derringer -- this baby has now has been kicked up another notch. A phrik base from the ore mined from Mohc Extractives makes for an extremely light and durable pistol that is lightsaber resistant. It is now bigger with a meatier grip. The chromium alloy plating was ditched to make way for a one that is held with a thought of affection, and in its stead subsequently plated in Dallorian alloy much like the Westar-34 pistol for protection against environmental hazards and heat resistance.

The Blackbeard uses a particular magnetic coil mechanism that houses the Tibanna gas in an age-old method that is reminiscent to antique blaster pistols like the The Lassiter, currently in Danger Arceneau’s weapon collection. This blaster works much like similar systems in its class, Subach’s Mist included among them. When the trigger is smoothly pulled and released, the Blackbeard will fire a pellet of plasma energy with the same speed, shape, and energy of a typical blaster round. The big surprise comes when it hits; besides your normal smoldering hole, the plasma round has a high chance of subsequently igniting flammable objects around it and producing severe third degree burns due to the intense heat output.

However, the longer the trigger is held down, the more of the Tibanna gas will be subsequently converted into plasma, producing larger bursts of plasma energy that is able to cause flammable object to burst into flames on a mere grazing hit, or upon sustained contact, vaporize all or part of the respective body.

To kick it up a notch, with Danger Arceneau owning 29% of the Beast Hunter's Guild, she has discounted contracts in contracting the Terentatek leather she requires for the stock. A contract with AEI allowed for the alchemization of the leather, making it lightsaber resistant. A terentatek's hide was highly resistant—in some cases even immune—to the effects of the Force. In the case of the Blackbeard, a reduced efficacy. This would allow the N-94 pistol to resist being telekinetically removed from a holder's grip, hands, and holster, as it would be immune to Force effects to include being Force Crushed.

Improvements have also been made to allow a larger powerpack of tibanna, resulting in a bump in ammo capacity and longevity. The Blackbeard is capable of firing approximately 2000 rounds, or 200 fully charged shots (20 reloads). However, while a charged shot has ten times the power of a standard plasma shot, it also uses up the Tibanna gas powerpack ten times as fast and wears the weapon down ten times as quickly - which in a land of supply and demand, Arceneau Trade and Mara Tibx & Fuels have absolutely no problem with increasing profit!

Yes, it is only on the stock. This is exactly the same as the Terentatek-horn grip of the the http://starwarsrp.net/topic/31944-lazy-eye-edition-merr-sonn-power-5/ , which also has the same benefits.

The alchemized terentatek-horn grip reduces the efficacy of Force-based attempts to interfere with, manipulate, or destroy the blaster.
This encapsulates the pistol as a whole, as it isn't a sniper rifle with a long barrel like the http://starwarsrp.net/topic/33857-chiru-rifle/

Two things-

The gun you're basing the Force resistance on only has Force protection for the entire gun because the terentatek horn is alchemized for that purpose -- here's the rest of the paragraph you were quoting: "The alchemized terentatek-horn grip reduces the efficacy of Force-based attempts to interfere with, manipulate, or destroy the blaster. The grip's alchemy amplifies the terentatek's innate Force-resistant properties in the manner of Akure Executive Leatherworks' various terentatek-hide products. The alchemy does not make the grip's material lightsabre-resistant, though the phrik beneath the horn certainly is." Without your terentatek hide being alchemized, you might get a degree of Force resistance on the handle, but not on the rest of the gun. (Feel free to use AEI, or the One Sith, or any other group which could plausibly manage mass-produced alchemy; also note that the original gun was minor production, due in part to this proprietary alchemical effect.)

The gun you're basing the Force resistance on has reduced efficacy, but this has immunity.

Ooo I like that, reduced efficacy.

  • Okay, switched it to reduced efficacy.
  • Dropped it down to minor produced with limited distribution.
  • Since the option for alchemization is there, I made it with a phrik base to be alchemized and added AEI as part of the manufacture. Added dev threads for it.

Added following:

To a degree it retains a sleek and chromed, but kicked up another notch. A phrik base from the ore mined from Mohc Extractives makes for an extremely light and durable pistol that is lightsaber resistant. It is now bigger with a meatier grip, the weapon was adequately plated with chromium to allow for its protection from environmental hazards.
and this.

To kick it up a notch, with Danger Arceneau owning 29% of the Beast Hunter's Guild, she has discounted contracts in contracting the Terentatek leather she requires for the stock. A contract with AEI allowed for the alchemization of the phrik, making it lightsaber resistant. A terentatek's hide was highly resistant—in some cases even immune—to the effects of the Force. Yeah, like I said, I'm fine with people citing my companies if they need whatever. I used to say 'you need a manufacturer for your ship - here's some canon ones, or you could use Silk or Iron Crown or whatever' all the time.

Did you mean the leather here? Phrik can already stop a sabre.

I'm a dunce. Fixed.
