DESCRIPTION

During the early days of the Helix Syndicate, contracts were signed with a weapons manufacturing company known as Corondex Arms. Later on, however, events outside the control of the Helix Syndicate led them to determine Corondex Arms was no longer dependable, reliable, or even worthwhile. In order to arm and armor its growing war machine, the Helix Syndicate would be forced to look elsewhere. In the whole of the galaxy, there was only one corporation that had never let the Helix Syndicate down: itself.

So it looked to itself, and decided it would handle the manufacturing of its own weapons. This would be a colossal undertaking, however, and would be a massive drain on revenue as they diverted their focus to the project. Instead of handling it directly, the Helix Syndicate directed the establishment of a subsidiary company: Myton Defense. In addition to designing and manufacturing weapons for the Helix Syndicate, it would sell some of its products to the rest of the Pentastar Alignment as well.

This way, the Helix Syndicate has more or less made an investment in a new company - one they have a strong controlling interest in - rather than dropping everything to handle it themselves. After securing other investors and (less than legal) sources of income, factories began to open up on Jaemus. Myton would even come to own several spaces on the massive shipyards above Jaemus, the Vulcanal Array. Additional locations would be opened up on Bescane, taking advantage of the planet's pre-existing industrial infrastructure.

Myton Arms has no intentions of expanding beyond its current assets on Jaemus and Bescane, as its current facilities are more than adequate to meet demand for its products both at home and abroad. Its lack of desire to expand is also a matter of policy. Despite these outside sales, Myton’s primary purpose in the galaxy is to fuel the Helix Syndicate. Any dealings outside of the Alignment or the Syndicate’s pre-approved contacts tend to be stopped before they get anywhere. By restricting Myton Defense to its current holdings, its masters in the Helix Syndicate can keep tighter reigns on them.

RATIONALE

Myton Defense was formed on orders from Tytos Ardik to one of the Helix Syndicate’s executives: Casta'obaiwe'doresh, otherwise known as Miss Doresh. Miss Doresh employed the assistance of another Chiss, Clovis Ganon, to assist in the endeavor. While Clovis schmoozed over potential investors, Miss Doresh handled the technical and bureaucratic aspects.

The company was founded as a result of their labors. Clovis Gannon acts as the official CEO and partial shareholder for the company. The rest of the shares are divided nominally among investors, but the majority is held by the Helix Syndicate.
