Description:

The BTI-Guardian Class Satellite is a revolutionary new product designed by the makers of the galaxies blaster weapons and now slug-throwers. Seeing an opportunity to expand into new markets thanks to the expansion of the galaxy-spanning company it's new monopoly on all weapons, Cade Lee saw the chance to develop something new and revolutionary. Going back to the drawing board for the first time in years since he took over the company and spread out his sources of revenue. He took to making something new that the galaxy hadn't seen in hundreds of years. Another large weapon wouldn't cut it since he had already made every weapon for every niche market and he had broken his chief competitor and taken over his market.

So Cade thought bigger, much bigger.

Upon private consultation with [member="Enigma"], after drawing up the plans himself he decided upon satellite mounted composite beams. After brokering a deal with [member="Jared Ovmar"] to allow Santhe to create the satellites, Cade sought out Cestus cybernetics to mine a dangerous material for him. With Mirkanite being mined for the composite beams, the designs themselves based off the Hyperion rifle, he set out on receiving funding for the new product his company was making. After the events on Druckenwell, he met with the head of the Techno Union to receive funding for a new headquarters on Hypori as well as more funds for the massive project his company was about to undertake. Flush with cash, he set his factories to work, and the Guardian Satellitel became a reality.

The BTI-Guardian Class was designed with a mind towards stopping terrorist and military units on the ground with ease. Thanks to the state-of-the-art surveillance equipment, the Guardian is able to find whatever enemy of the state (or criminal) and obliterate them and their entire family with the press of a single button. Limited to moving in orbit, it's thrusters only allow it to position itself, and keep itself afloat in space and from becoming a pretty meteor should gravity ever get a hold on it. While it does possess the ability to turn around and point it's weapons towards space. It would only be effective against large, immobile ships or asteroids. The long recharge time on the weapon itself prevents it from posing any danger to ships that move with any semblance of speed, and makes it even more vulnerable to fighters. It's lack of shielding prevents it from sustaining much damage at all, and it is quite a vulnerable target should an invading force target it unless it were protected by other vessels.

The composite beams themselves are quite powerful, equivalent to two turbolasers that are capable of sustaining their blasts for nearly ten seconds. On the ground this would equate to nearly five square blocks being obliterated unless the target was reinforced or heavily shielded. The Guardian is mainly designed to eliminate soft targets and your everyday run of the mill buildings. It's effectiveness on military targets varies on the material the actual target is made of. Against beskar emplacements it's effectiveness is greatly diminished, and only five to six repeated blasts would start to damage the target.

Wary of governments buying these satellites in bulk, each unit's costs offsets such a worry. Blas-Tech itself has set a limit of only allowing only three of these satellites to be installed on any world due to their effectiveness and costs. Special software on the units only allows the authorized leader of the world to allow it to fire, any attempts to hack it or tamper with the satellite will cause it to self-destruct.

Classification: Orbital Defense Satellite
Role: Planetary Security
Height: 40M
Width: 30M
Length: 30M
Power Core Generator/Reactor: Solar Ionization Reactor
Hyperdrive Rating: N/A
Minimum Crew: Unmanned
Optimal Crew: Unmanned
Armaments:

 • Planetary Bombardment Composite Beam Laser(Equivalent of 2 Turbolasers)
Hangar:
 • N/A
Non-Combative Attachments:
 • Droid Brain(Provide a link if using a Cestus Cybernetic Droid Brain)
 • Concealed Satellite Holo-Camera(Monitor planet)
 • Concealed Com-wave Receiver(Monitor Planetary communications)
 • Concealed Transceiver(Transmit information back to Blas-Tech)
Passenger Capacity: N/A
Cargo Capacity: N/A
Consumables: N/A
Sublight Speed and Maneuverability: N/A(Orbital, must be dropped off by Blastech)

Weapon Specifics:

Classification: Composite beam laser.
Size: Orbital
Weight: 30,000kg
Ammunition Type: Very, very large power packs.
Ammunition Capacity: 12 shots, with each taking two minutes to fire after each other. This allows the composite beam enough time to recharge and cool down. Also of note, each blast "burns" for ten seconds and then the gun powers down. After the 12 shots have been fired, the weapon has to charge for at least twenty four hours via it's solar panels to be able to fire again.
Effective Range: Planetary

Rate of Fire: Single Shot, takes over two minutes for the next shot to charge up and fire.
Special Features: State of the Art survelliance equipment, and the ability to be commanded by the planetary or system leader. Blas-Tech also put in an override features in all the satellites to prevent anyone from abusing the technology. Each Guardian satellite is also equipped to be destroyed should someone try and tamper with it, or get it to fire without the permission of the person who has clearance.

Indeed. The fact its a satellite also makes it easy prey for all starships. Remember satellite defense platforms are rather dated for the SW universe.

When you say recharge via solar panels, I assume you mean using some star warsy energy source.

At an earth radius the maximum theoretical power that can be generated by solar panels in ~2kW per m^2. You'd be quicker with a diesel generator :D
