- City Name: Mugaari City
- Classification: Metropolis
- Location: Javin
- Affiliation: The Mugaari City government
- Population: Heavy
- Demographics:
- 82% Human/Near-Human
- 12% Mugaari
- 6% Other
- Wealth: Medium - Mugaari City is a glistening beacon of prosperity in a sector often plagued by lawlessness and economic disparity. Though far from the opulence of Coruscant or the decadence of Canto Bight, Mugaari City maintains a thriving middle-class core with an economy bolstered by trade along the Corellian Trade Spine. Skyscrapers of polished durasteel and transparisteel dominate its skyline—not towering megastructures, but functional and well-maintained high-rises that house corporate offices, residential units, and commerce hubs. The city's infrastructure is efficient and reliable, providing it's citizens with a public transit system, medcenters, and comm centers. Many intergalactic companies have established storefronts near the city's extravagant central plaza. Galactic franchises operate alongside local businesses, and while luxury goods are available, they remain out of reach for most citizens—more admired than owned.
- Stability: High - Before Imperial occupation, Mugaari City was rife with criminal activity and the citizens lived in a perpetual state of fear. Now, with proper oversight from the Empire, Mugaari City has become more of a peaceful metropolis. While criminal activity still remains, it is much less violent than previous years. The new mayor-council government instated by the Empire has since led the city into prosperity and the Mugaari City Police Department, now revitalized, properly trained and armed, keeps the peace from the city center to the badlands just outside the city.
- Freedom & Oppression: The city thrives on it's freedoms afforded to the law-abiding citizens, allowing them to grow and contribute to society. There are laws to protect citizens, however, nothing directly impedes on their lives. One would consider Mugaari City to be at the standard for a free city. While under Imperial control, Mugaari City has mostly be left to it's own devices despite it's presence along a prominent trade route.
- Description: An urban mecca on the desert world of Javin, Mugaari City was once a Mugaari colony. This was until the Republic defeated the Mugaari in a one-sided conflict, leading to many of the Mugaari to leave the city to the Republic. Several cities sprouted across the planet, Mugaari City being one of them. Though it is one of the largest cities on the planet, it is not the capital. Mugaari City is a metropolis of industry, mercantilism, and dreams at the peak of it's economic power.
Mugaari Plaza - The city center of Mugaari City is a blinding, buzzing, hyper-industrial sprawl that never sleeps. Towering holoboards cascade down mega-structures like waterfalls of light, broadcasting everything from spice ads and bounty alerts to corporate propaganda. Flickering neon signs in a Aurabesh compete for attention, bathing the streets below in a chaotic spectrum of blues, reds, and electric purples. Here, one can find major company storefronts beneath their massive beacon of signs superimposed on buildings. Several restaurants, nightclubs, and bars have made their stake in this competitive high-tourist area.
Figg Tower - The largest tower in all of Mugaari City. All who find themselves in Mugaari City know the name of Figg as the name is displayed in massive neon silver glory at the top of this megastructure. From here, the Figg conglomerate controls their operations across Greater Javin. Only Figg conglomerate associates and high ranking Imperial personnel have been seen going inside the tower, insinuating the building's high security. Over 100 floors of corporate infrastructure stretch into the dry Mugaari City sky.
SyntheCure Stadium - The home of the Greater Javin Tornados, the shockball team of the Greater Javin area. The stadium features state-of-the-art skyboxes, premium concessions, and a retractable dome. As evidenced by the name, the stadium is sponsored by SyntheCure. The area around the stadium is covered in Tornados signs and decals, signaling the love the city has for their team. At the front of the stadium is an extravagant courtyard with restaurant kiosks, statues of former players, and plenty of parking with designated tailgating space.
Koensayr Hills - From the ruins of an abandoned weapons factory, Koensayr Hills is a thriving, diverse community of young professionals. Many of the inhabitants of Koensayr Hills are city employees and their families due to it's location near downtown. Crime has been on the rise in Koensayr Hills, but due to the efforts of the MCPD, it has been slowed to a crawl.
SECURITY
High
Mugaari City's security is provided by the Mugaari City Police Department. They are a force, nearly 80,000 strong, that enforces the rule of law across Mugaari City. Known to be a militant force of good, the Mugaari City Police Department's entire philosophy was revamped with the occupation by the Sith Empire. They were once a force of corrupt officers, but the Sith Empire purged the department early on in the occupation and trained a new police department, the one protecting Mugaari City now. The MCPD is equipped with state-of-the-art blaster weaponry, armored land and air speeders, and, for extreme cases, armed vehicles.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Mugaari City was founded after the Republic massacred the Mugaari colonists on the planet. The Republic founded Mugaari City from what remained of one of the major colonies on the planet. They named it after the Mugaari in reverence of those who were so decisively defeated. Many current citizens realize it was more of a mockery. In the centuries that went by, Mugaari City grew larger with time as the Republic controlled the planet, bringing trade along the Corelian Trade Spine to the city.
In the wake of the Gulag Virus, Mugaari City was largely unaffected. Trade fell to a halt due to the city cutting off communications off world. The city miraculously survived through the years of isolationism and came out on the otherside of the virus fairly clean. Since then, Mugaari City has returned to it's status as the jewel of Javin.
